Yeremia 28
1 Katika mwezi wa tano wa mwaka ule ule, yaani mwaka wa nne, mwanzoni mwa utawala wa Sedekia mfalme wa Yuda, nabii Hanania mwana wa Azuri, ambaye alitoka Gibeoni, akaniambia katika nyumba ya Bwana mbele ya makuhani na watu wote:
And it comes to pass, in that year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, Hananiah son of Azur the prophet, who [is] of Gibeon, has spoken to me in the house of YHWH, before the eyes of the priests, and all the people, saying,
2 “Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote, Mungu wa Israeli asemalo: ‘Nitaivunja nira ya mfalme wa Babeli.
“Thus spoke YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon;
3 Katika muda wa miaka miwili nitavirudisha mahali hapa vyombo vyote vya nyumba ya Bwana ambavyo Nebukadneza mfalme wa Babeli aliviondoa kutoka hapa na kuvipeleka Babeli.
within two years of days I am bringing back to this place all the vessels of the house of YHWH that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken from this place, and carries to Babylon,
4 Pia nitamrudisha mahali hapa Yekonia mwana wa Yehoyakimu mfalme wa Yuda, pamoja na wote waliohamishwa kutoka Yuda ambao walikwenda Babeli,’ asema Bwana, ‘kwa kuwa nitaivunja nira ya mfalme wa Babeli.’”
and Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the expulsion of Judah, who are entering Babylon, I am bringing back to this place—a declaration of YHWH; for I break the yoke of the king of Babylon.”
5 Ndipo nabii Yeremia akamjibu nabii Hanania mbele ya makuhani na watu wote waliokuwa wamesimama ndani ya nyumba ya Bwana.
And Jeremiah the prophet says to Hananiah the prophet, before the eyes of the priests, and before the eyes of all the people who are standing in the house of YHWH,
6 Akasema, “Amen! Bwana na afanye hivyo! Bwana na ayatimize maneno uliyotoa unabii kwa kuvirudisha mahali hapa kutoka Babeli vyombo vya nyumba ya Bwana pamoja na wote waliohamishwa.
indeed, Jeremiah the prophet says, “Amen! So may YHWH do; YHWH establish your words that you have prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the house of YHWH and all the expulsion from Babylon, to this place.
7 Hata hivyo, nisikilize nikuambie yale nitakayoyasema masikioni mwako na masikioni mwa watu hawa wote:
Only, please hear this word that I am speaking in your ears, and in the ears of all the people.
8 Tangu mwanzo, manabii waliokutangulia wewe na mimi walitabiri vita, maafa na tauni dhidi ya nchi nyingi na falme kubwa.
The prophets who have been before me, and before you, from of old, even they prophesy concerning many lands, and concerning great kingdoms, of battle, and of calamity, and of pestilence.
9 Lakini nabii atakayetabiri amani atatambuliwa kuwa kweli ametumwa na Bwana ikiwa unabii wake utatimia.”
The prophet who prophesies of peace, by the word of the prophet coming to pass, the prophet is known [as] one whom YHWH has truly sent.”
10 Kisha nabii Hanania akaiondoa nira iliyokuwa shingoni mwa Yeremia na kuivunja,
And Hananiah the prophet takes the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and breaks it,
11 naye akasema mbele ya watu wote, “Hili ndilo asemalo Bwana: ‘Vivi hivi ndivyo nitakavyoivunja nira ya Nebukadneza mfalme wa Babeli kutoka kwenye shingo za mataifa katika muda huu wa miaka miwili.’” Alipofanya hivi, nabii Yeremia akaondoka zake.
and Hananiah speaks before the eyes of all the people, saying, “Thus said YHWH: Thus I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, within two years of days, from off the neck of all the nations”; and Jeremiah the prophet goes on his way.
12 Kitambo kidogo baada ya nabii Hanania kuivunja nira kutoka shingo ya nabii Yeremia, neno la Bwana likamjia Yeremia:
And there is a word of YHWH to Jeremiah after the breaking, by Hananiah the prophet, of the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
13 “Nenda ukamwambie Hanania, ‘Hili ndilo asemalo Bwana: Umevunja nira ya mti, lakini badala yake utapata nira ya chuma.
“Go, and you have spoken to Hananiah, saying, Thus said YHWH: You have broken yokes of wood, and I have made yokes of iron instead of them.
14 Hili ndilo asemalo Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote, Mungu wa Israeli: Nitaweka nira ya chuma kwenye shingo za mataifa haya yote ili kufanya yamtumikie Nebukadneza mfalme wa Babeli, nao watamtumikia. Nitampa kutawala hata wanyama wa mwituni.’”
For thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they have served him, and I have also given the beast of the field to him.”
15 Kisha nabii Yeremia akamwambia nabii Hanania, “Sikiliza Hanania! Bwana hajakutuma, lakini wewe umelishawishi taifa hili kuamini uongo.
And Jeremiah the prophet says to Hananiah the prophet, “Now hear, O Hananiah; YHWH has not sent you, and you have caused this people to trust on falsehood.
16 Kwa hiyo, hili ndilo asemalo Bwana: ‘Hivi karibuni nitakuondoa kutoka juu ya uso wa dunia. Mwaka huu utakufa, kwa sababu umetangaza uasi dhidi ya Bwana.’”
Therefore, thus said YHWH: Behold, I am casting you from off the face of the ground; you die this year, for you have spoken apostasy concerning YHWH.”
17 Katika mwezi wa saba wa mwaka ule ule, nabii Hanania akafa.
And Hananiah the prophet dies in that year, in the seventh month.
