Wahebrania 2
1 Kwa hiyo, imetupasa kuwa waangalifu sana kuhusu kile tulichosikia, ili tusije tukakiacha.
Because of this it is more abundantly necessary to take heed to the things heard, lest we may drift away,
2 Kwa kuwa kama ujumbe ulionenwa na malaika ulikuwa imara, na kila uasi na kutokutii kulipata adhabu ya haki,
for if the word being spoken through messengers became steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just repayment,
3 je, sisi tutapaje kupona kama tusipojali wokovu mkuu namna hii? Wokovu huu, ambao mwanzo ulitangazwa na Bwana, ulithibitishwa kwetu na wale waliomsikia.
how will we escape, having neglected such great salvation? Which having received [that] spoken through the LORD [from] the beginning, was confirmed to us by those having heard,
4 Pia Mungu aliushuhudia kwa ishara, maajabu na kwa miujiza mbalimbali, na karama za Roho Mtakatifu alizozigawa kulingana na mapenzi yake.
God also bearing joint-witness both with signs and wonders, and manifold powers, and distributions of the Holy Spirit, according to His will.
5 Mungu hakuuweka ulimwengu ujao ambao tunanena habari zake chini ya malaika.
For He did not subject the coming world to messengers, concerning which we speak,
6 Lakini kuna mahali mtu fulani ameshuhudia akisema: “Mwanadamu ni kitu gani hata unamfikiria, binadamu ni nani hata unamjali?
and one in a certain place testified fully, saying, “What is man, that You are mindful of him, Or a son of man, that You look after him?
7 Umemfanya chini kidogo kuliko malaika; ukamvika taji ya utukufu na heshima,
You made him [a] little less than messengers, You crowned him with glory and honor, And set him over the works of Your hands,
8 nawe umeweka vitu vyote chini ya miguu yake.” Kwa kuweka vitu vyote chini yake, Mungu hakuacha kitu chochote ambacho hakukiweka chini ya mwanadamu. Lakini kwa sasa, hatuoni kwamba kila kitu kiko chini yake.
You put all things in subjection under his feet,” for in the subjecting to Him all things, He left nothing to Him unsubjected, but now we do not yet see all things subjected to Him,
9 Lakini twamwona Yesu, aliyefanywa chini kidogo kuliko malaika, sasa akiwa amevikwa taji ya utukufu na heshima kwa sababu alistahimili mauti, ili kwamba kwa neema ya Mungu apate kuonja mauti kwa ajili ya kila mtu.
and we see Him who was made [a] little less than messengers—Jesus—because of the suffering of death, having been crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God He might taste of death for everyone.
10 Ili kuwaleta wana wengi katika utukufu, ilifaa kwamba Mungu, ambaye ni kwa ajili yake na kupitia kwake kila kitu kimekuwepo, amkamilishe mwanzilishi wa wokovu wao kwa njia ya mateso.
For it was fitting to Him, because of whom [are] all things, and through whom [are] all things, bringing many sons to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings,
11 Yeye awafanyaye watu kuwa watakatifu, pamoja na hao ambao hufanywa watakatifu, wote hutoka katika jamaa moja. Hivyo Yesu haoni aibu kuwaita ndugu zake.
for both He who is sanctifying and those sanctified [are] all of one, for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brothers,
12 Yeye husema, “Nitalitangaza jina lako kwa ndugu zangu; mbele ya kusanyiko nitaimba sifa zako.”
saying, “I will declare Your Name to My brothers, In the midst of an assembly I will sing praise to You”; and again, “I will be trusting on Him”;
13 Tena, “Nitaweka tumaini langu kwake.” Tena anasema, “Niko hapa, pamoja na watoto ambao Mungu amenipa.”
and again, “Behold, I and the children that God gave to Me.”
14 Basi kwa kuwa watoto wana nyama na damu, yeye pia alishiriki katika ubinadamu wao, ili kwa kifo chake, apate kumwangamiza huyo mwenye nguvu za mauti, yaani ibilisi,
Seeing, then, the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself also took part of the same in like manner, that through death He might destroy him having the power of death—that is, the Devil—
15 na kuwaweka huru wale waliokuwa utumwani maisha yao yote kwa sababu ya kuogopa mauti.
and might deliver those, whoever, with fear of death, throughout all their life, were subjects of bondage,
16 Kwa kuwa ni dhahiri kwamba hakuja kusaidia malaika, bali uzao wa Abrahamu.
for doubtless, He does not lay hold of messengers, but He lays hold of [the] seed of Abraham,
17 Kwa sababu hii ilibidi afanane na ndugu zake kwa kila hali, ili apate kuwa Kuhani Mkuu mwenye huruma na mwaminifu katika kumtumikia Mungu, ili pia apate kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili ya dhambi za watu.
for this reason it seemed necessary to Him to be made like the brothers in all things, that He might become a kind and faithful Chief Priest in the things related to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people,
18 Kwa kuwa yeye mwenyewe aliteswa alipojaribiwa, aweza kuwasaidia wale wanaojaribiwa.
for in that He suffered, Himself being tempted, He is able to help those who are tempted.
