Mwanzo 9
1 Ndipo Mungu akambariki Noa na wanawe, akiwaambia, “Zaeni mkaongezeke kwa idadi na mkaijaze tena dunia.
So God blessed Noah and his sons, —and said to them Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth;
2 Wanyama wote wa duniani, ndege wote wa angani, kila kiumbe kitambaacho juu ya ardhi, na samaki wote wa baharini wamekabidhiwa mikononi mwenu, nao watawaogopa na kuwahofu.
and let the fear of you and the dread of you be upon every living creature of the earth, and upon every bird of the heavens, —over everything that moveth along on the ground, and over all the fishes of the sea, —into your hand, have they been given.
3 Kila kitu chenye uhai kiendacho kitakuwa chakula chenu. Kama vile nilivyowapa mimea mbalimbali, sasa nawapa kila kitu.
As for every moving thing that hath life, yours, shall it be, for food, —Like the green herb, have I given you all things.
4 “Lakini kamwe msile nyama ambayo bado ina damu ya uhai wake, kwa maana damu ni uhai.
Yet flesh with the life thereof, the blood thereof, shall ye not eat;
5 Hakika damu ya uhai wenu nitaidai. Nitaidai kutoka kwa kila mnyama. Kutoka kwa kila mwanadamu pia nitaidai kwa ajili ya uhai wa mtu mwenzake.
And surely your blood, of your lives, will I require, From the hand of every living creature, will I require it, —and from the hand of man From the hand of each one’s brother, will I require the life of man:
6 “Yeyote amwagaye damu ya mwanadamu, damu yake itamwagwa na mwanadamu, kwa kuwa katika mfano wa Mungu, Mungu alimuumba mwanadamu.
He that sheddeth man’s blood, by man, shall his blood be shed, —For, in the image of God, made he man.
7 Kuhusu ninyi, zaeni mwongezeke kwa wingi, mzidi katika dunia na kuijaza.”
Ye, therefore, be fruitful and multiply, swarm in the earth and multiply therein.
8 Ndipo Mungu akamwambia Noa na wanawe pamoja naye:
And God spake unto Noah, and unto his sons with him saying:
9 “Sasa mimi ninaweka Agano langu nanyi, pamoja na uzao wenu baada yenu,
I, therefore, behold me! establishing my covenant with you, —and with your seed after you;
10 pia na kila kiumbe hai kilichokuwa pamoja nanyi: Ndege, wanyama wa kufugwa na wanyama wote wa porini, wale wote waliotoka katika safina pamoja nanyi, kila kiumbe hai duniani.
and with every living soul that is with you, of birds, of tame-beasts and of all wild-beasts of the earth that are with you, —of all coming forth out of the ark, even to all wild-beasts of the earth;
11 Ninaweka Agano nanyi: Kamwe uhai hautafutwa tena kwa gharika, kamwe haitakuwepo tena gharika ya kuangamiza dunia.”
yea, I will establish my covenant with you, so that all flesh shall not be cut off any more, by reason of the waters of a flood, —neither shall there be any more a flood to destroy the earth.
12 Mungu akasema, “Hii ni ishara ya Agano ninalofanya kati yangu na ninyi na kila kiumbe hai kilicho pamoja nanyi, Agano kwa vizazi vyote vijavyo:
And God said, This, is the sign of the covenant which I am granting betwixt me and you, and every living soul that is with you, —to age-abiding generations: —
13 Nimeweka upinde wangu wa mvua mawinguni, nao utakuwa ishara ya Agano nifanyalo kati yangu na dunia.
My bow, have I set in the cloud, —and it shall be for a sign of a covenant, betwixt me and the earth;
14 Wakati wowote ninapotanda mawingu juu ya dunia na upinde wa mvua ukijitokeza mawinguni,
and it shall be when I draw a veil of cloud over the earth, —and the bow in the cloud appeareth,
15 nitakumbuka Agano langu kati yangu na ninyi na viumbe vyote vilivyo hai vya kila aina. Kamwe maji hayatakuwa tena gharika ya kuangamiza uhai wote.
then will I remember my covenant which is betwixt me and you, and every living soul among all flesh, —that the waters may no more become a flood, to destroy all flesh:
16 Wakati wowote upinde wa mvua unapotokea mawinguni, nitauona na kukumbuka Agano la milele kati ya Mungu na viumbe vyote vilivyo hai vya kila aina duniani.”
so the bow shall be in the cloud, —and I will behold it, to remember an age-abiding covenant, between God, and every living soul among all flesh that is on the earth.
17 Hivyo Mungu akamwambia Noa, “Hii ndiyo ishara ya Agano ambalo nimelifanya kati yangu na viumbe vyote vilivyo hai duniani.”
And God said unto Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which have established, between me and all flesh that is on the earth.
18 Wana wa Noa waliotoka ndani ya safina ni: Shemu, Hamu na Yafethi. (Hamu ndiye alikuwa baba wa Kanaani.)
And the sons of Noah who came forth out of the ark, were—Shem and Ham and Japheth, —now, Ham, was the father of Canaan.
19 Hawa ndio waliokuwa wana watatu wa Noa, kutokana nao watu walienea katika dunia.
These three, were the sons of Noah, —and from these, was all the earth overspread.
20 Noa akawa mkulima, akawa mtu wa kwanza kupanda mizabibu.
And Noah began to be a husbandman, —so he planted a vineyard:
21 Alipokunywa huo mvinyo wake akalewa na akalala uchi kwenye hema lake.
and dank of the wine and became drunk, and uncovered himself in the midst of his tent.
22 Hamu, baba wa Kanaani, akauona uchi wa baba yake na kuwaeleza ndugu zake wawili waliokuwa nje.
And Ham the father of Canaan saw his father’s shame, —and told his two brethren outside.
23 Lakini Shemu na Yafethi wakachukua nguo wakaitanda mabegani mwao wote wawili, kisha wakaenda kinyumenyume, wakaufunika uchi wa baba yao. Nyuso zao zilielekea upande mwingine ili wasiuone uchi wa baba yao.
And Shem and Japheth took a mantle, and put it on the shoulder of them both and went backwards, and covered the shame of their father, but their faces were backwards, and the shame of their father, saw they not.
24 Noa alipolevuka kutoka kwenye mvinyo wake na kujua lile ambalo mwanawe mdogo kuliko wote alilokuwa amemtendea,
And Noah awoke from his wine, —and came to know what his youngest son had done to him.
25 akasema, “Alaaniwe Kanaani! Atakuwa mtumwa wa chini sana kuliko watumwa wote kwa ndugu zake.”
And he said, Accursed be Canaan, —a servant of servants, shall he be to his brethren!
26 Pia akasema, “Abarikiwe Bwana, Mungu wa Shemu! Kanaani na awe mtumwa wa Shemu.
And he said, Blessed be Yahweh, God of Shem, —And let Canaan be their servant:
27 Mungu na apanue mipaka ya Yafethi; Yafethi na aishi katika mahema ya Shemu, na Kanaani na awe mtumwa wake.”
God give extension to Japheth, But make his habitation in the tents of Shem, And let Canaan be their servant.
28 Baada ya gharika Noa aliishi miaka 350.
And Noah lived after the flood, —three hundred and fifty years:
29 Noa alikuwa na jumla ya miaka 950, ndipo akafa.
so, all the days of Noah, were—nine hundred and fifty years, —and he died.
