Mwanzo 7
1 Ndipo Bwana akamwambia Noa, “Ingia katika safina wewe na jamaa yako yote, kwa sababu katika kizazi hiki nimeona ya kuwa wewe ni mwenye haki.
And Yahweh said to Noah, Enter thou and all thy house, into the ark, —for, thee, have I seen righteous before me, in this generation.
2 Uchukue wanyama saba walio safi wa kila aina, wa kiume na wa kike, na wanyama wawili wawili wa kila aina walio najisi wa kiume na wa kike.
Of all the clean beasts, shalt thou take to thee by sevens, a male and his female, —and, of the beasts that are not clean, shall be two a male and his female.
3 Pia uchukue ndege saba walio safi wa kila aina, wa kiume na wa kike, ili kuhifadhi aina zao mbalimbali katika dunia yote.
Also of the bird of the heavens, by sevens, male and female, —to keep alive a seed on the face of all the earth.
4 Siku saba kuanzia sasa nitaleta mvua juu ya nchi kwa siku arobaini usiku na mchana, nami nitafutilia mbali kutoka uso wa nchi kila kiumbe hai nilichokiumba.”
For in seven days more, I, am sending rain on the earth, forty days and forty nights, —so will I wipe out all the living things which I have made, from off the face of the ground.
5 Noa akafanya yote kama Bwana alivyomwamuru.
And Noah did, —according to all that Yahweh commanded him.
6 Noa alikuwa na miaka 600 gharika ilipokuja juu ya dunia.
Now, Noah, was six hundred years old, —when, the flood, came, even waters on the earth.
7 Noa na mkewe na wanawe na wake zao wakaingia katika safina ili waepuke ile gharika.
So Noah entered, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him into the ark, —from before the waters of the flood,
8 Jozi ya wanyama walio safi na walio najisi, ndege na viumbe vitambaavyo,
Of the beasts that were clean, and of the beasts that were not clean, —and of the birds, and everything that creepeth on the ground,
9 wa kiume na wa kike, walikuja kwa Noa wakaingia katika safina kama Mungu alivyomwamuru Noa.
two and two, went they in unto Noah, into the ark male and female, —as God commanded Noah.
10 Baada ya siku saba, maji ya gharika yakaja juu ya dunia.
And it came to pass, in the seven days, —that the waters of the flood, came on the earth.
11 Katika siku ya kumi na saba ya mwezi wa pili mwaka wa 600 wa kuishi kwake Noa, siku hiyo ndipo chemchemi zote hata zilizo chini sana ya ardhi zilibubujika kwa nguvu, na malango ya mafuriko ya mbinguni yakafunguliwa.
In the six hundredth year, the year of the life of Noah. in the second month on the seventeenth day of the month on this day, were burst open all the fountains of the great roaring deep, and the windows of the heavens, were set open.
12 Mvua ikanyesha juu ya nchi siku arobaini usiku na mchana.
(And it came to pass that the heavy rain was on the earth, —forty days and forty nights.)
13 Siku hiyo Noa, na mkewe, na wanawe Shemu, Hamu na Yafethi pamoja na wake zao wakaingia katika ile safina.
On this selfsame day, entered Noah, and Shem and Ham and Japheth. Noah’s sons, —and Noah’s wife, and his sons’ three wives with them into the ark:
14 Nao walikuwa pamoja na kila mnyama wa mwituni kufuatana na aina yake, wanyama wote wafugwao kufuatana na aina zao, kila kiumbe kitambaacho juu ya ardhi kwa aina yake, na kila ndege kufuatana na aina yake, naam kila kiumbe chenye mabawa.
they, and all the wild-beasts after their kind and all the tame-beasts after their kind, and all the creeping things that creep on the earth after their kind, —and all the birds after their kind, every bird of every wing.
15 Viumbe vyote vyenye pumzi ya uhai ndani yake vikaja kwa Noa viwili viwili, vikaingia katika safina.
So they entered in unto Noah, into the ark, —two and two of all flesh, wherein was the spirit of life.
16 Wanyama walioingia katika safina walikuwa wa kiume na wa kike, wa kila kiumbe chenye uhai kama Mungu alivyomwamuru Noa, ndipo Bwana akamfungia ndani.
And, they that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered, as God commanded him, —and Yahweh shut him in round about.
17 Kwa siku arobaini mafuriko yaliendelea kujaa duniani na maji yalivyozidi kuongezeka, yaliinua safina juu sana kutoka kwenye uso wa nchi.
And it came to pass, that the flood was forty days on the earth, —and the waters increased and bare up the ark, and it was lifted high above the earth,
18 Maji yakajaa na kuongezeka sana juu ya nchi, na safina ikaelea juu ya uso wa maji.
And the waters prevailed and increased greatly, on the earth, —and the ark went its way on the face of the waters.
19 Maji yakazidi kujaa juu ya nchi, yakaifunika milima yote mirefu chini ya mbingu yote.
Yea the waters, prevailed very greatly, on the earth, —so that all the high mountains became covered, that were under all the heavens:
20 Maji yakaendelea kujaa yakaifunika milima kwa kina cha zaidi ya dhiraa kumi na tano.
fifteen cubits upwards, prevailed the waters, so that the mountains became covered.
21 Kila kiumbe hai kitambaacho juu ya nchi kikaangamia: Ndege, wanyama wa kufugwa, wanyama pori, viumbe vyote juu ya nchi na wanadamu wote.
And all flesh ceased to breathe that moved on the earth, of birds and of tame-beasts and of wild-beasts, and of all the swarming things that swarm on the earth, —and all mankind.
22 Kila kiumbe juu ya nchi kavu chenye pumzi ya uhai kikafa.
All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life of all that were on the dry ground died.
23 Kila kitu chenye uhai juu ya uso wa nchi kilifutiliwa mbali, watu, wanyama, viumbe vitambaavyo na ndege warukao angani wakafutiliwa mbali toka duniani. Waliobaki ni Noa peke yake na wale waliokuwa pamoja naye ndani ya safina.
Thus was wiped out all that existed on the face of the ground, from man unto beast unto creeping thing, and unto the bird of the heavens, thus were they wiped out from the earth, —so that there was left—only Noah and they that were with him in the ark.
24 Maji yakaifunika dunia kwa siku 150.
Thus prevailed the waters on the earth, —a hundred and fifty days.
