1 Hii ni orodha iliyoandikwa ya vizazi vya Adamu. Wakati Mungu alipomuumba Adamu, alimfanya kwa sura ya Mungu.
This is the book of the generations of Adam. On the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him:
2 Aliwaumba mwanaume na mwanamke, akawabariki. Walipokwisha kuumbwa, akawaita “mwanadamu.”
Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, on the day when they were created.
3 Adamu alipokuwa ameishi miaka 130, alikuwa na mwana aliyekuwa na sura yake, mwenye kufanana naye. Akamwita Sethi.
And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his likeness, after his image; and called his name Sheth.
4 Baada ya Sethi kuzaliwa, Adamu aliishi miaka 800, akawa na watoto wengine wa kiume na wa kike.
And the days of Adam after he had begotten Sheth were eight hundred years; and he begat sons and daughters.
5 Adamu aliishi jumla ya miaka 930, ndipo akafa.
And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
6 Sethi alipokuwa ameishi miaka 105, akamzaa Enoshi.
And Sheth lived a hundred and five years, and begat Enosh.
7 Baada ya kumzaa Enoshi, Sethi aliishi miaka 807, akawa na watoto wengine wa kiume na wa kike.
And Sheth lived after he had begotten Enosh eight hundred and seven years; and he begat sons and daughters.
8 Sethi aliishi jumla ya miaka 912, ndipo akafa.
And all the days of Sheth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.
9 Enoshi alipokuwa ameishi miaka tisini, akamzaa Kenani.
And Enosh lived ninety years, and begat Kenan.
10 Baada ya kumzaa Kenani, Enoshi aliishi miaka 815, naye alikuwa na watoto wengine wa kiume na wa kike.
And Enosh lived after he had begotten Kenan eight hundred and fifteen years; and he begat sons and daughters.
11 Enoshi aliishi jumla ya miaka 905, ndipo akafa.
And all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.
12 Kenani alipokuwa ameishi miaka sabini, akamzaa Mahalaleli.
And Kenan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalalel.
13 Baada ya kumzaa Mahalaleli, Kenani aliishi miaka 840, akawa na watoto wengine wa kiume na wa kike.
And Kenan lived after he had begotten Mahalalel eight hundred and forty years; and he begat sons and daughters
14 Kenani aliishi jumla ya miaka 910, ndipo akafa.
And all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.
15 Mahalaleli alipokuwa ameishi miaka sitini na mitano, akamzaa Yaredi.
And Mahalalel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared.
16 Baada ya kumzaa Yaredi, Mahalaleli aliishi miaka 830, akawa na watoto wengine wa kiume na wa kike.
And Mahalalel lived after he had begotten Jared eight hundred and thirty years; and he begat sons and daughters.
17 Mahalaleli aliishi jumla ya miaka 895, ndipo akafa.
And all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety and five years; and he died.
18 Yaredi alipokuwa ameishi miaka 162, akamzaa Enoki.
And Jared lived a hundred sixty and two years, and begat Enoch.
19 Baada ya kumzaa Enoki, Yaredi aliishi miaka 800, naye akawa na watoto wengine wa kiume na wa kike.
And Jared lived after he had begotten Enoch eight hundred years; and he begat sons and daughters.
20 Yaredi aliishi jumla ya miaka 962, ndipo akafa.
And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years; and he died.
21 Enoki alipokuwa ameishi miaka sitini na mitano, akamzaa Methusela.
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methushelah.
22 Baada ya kumzaa Methusela, Enoki alitembea na Mungu miaka 300, na akawa na watoto wengine wa kiume na wa kike.
And Enoch walked with God after he had begotten Methushelah three hundred years; and begat sons and daughters.
23 Enoki aliishi jumla ya miaka 365.
And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years.
24 Enoki akatembea na Mungu, kisha akatoweka, kwa sababu Mungu alimchukua.
And Enoch walked with God, and he was no more; for God had taken him.
25 Methusela alipokuwa ameishi miaka 187, akamzaa Lameki.
And Methushelah lived a hundred eighty and seven years and begat Lemech.
26 Baada ya kumzaa Lameki, Methusela aliishi miaka 782, akawa na watoto wengine wa kiume na wa kike.
And Methushelah lived after he had begotten Lemech seven hundred eighty and two years; and he begat sons and daughters.
27 Methusela aliishi jumla ya miaka 969, ndipo akafa.
And all the days of Methushelah were nine hundred sixty and nine years; and he died.
28 Lameki alipokuwa ameishi miaka 182, alimzaa mwana.
And Lemech lived a hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son.
29 Akamwita jina lake Noa, akasema, “Yeye ndiye atakayetufariji katika kazi na maumivu makali ya mikono yetu yaliyosababishwa na ardhi iliyolaaniwa na Bwana.”
And he called his name Noach, [[Noah, ]] saying, This one shall comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed.
30 Baada ya Noa kuzaliwa, Lameki aliishi miaka 595, akawa na watoto wengine wa kiume na wa kike.
And Lemech lived after he had begotten Noah five hundred ninety and five years; and begat sons and daughters.
31 Lameki aliishi jumla ya miaka 777, ndipo akafa.
And all the days of Lemech were seven hundred seventy and seven years; and he died.
32 Baada ya Noa kuishi miaka 500, aliwazaa Shemu, Hamu na Yafethi.
And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
