1 Hawa ndio wazao wa Noa: Shemu, Hamu na Yafethi, ambao walizaa wana baada ya gharika.
Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: these are the sons which they had after the great flow of waters
2 Wana wa Yafethi walikuwa: Gomeri, Magogu, Madai, Yavani, Tubali, Mesheki na Tirasi.
The sons of Japheth: Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras.
3 Wana wa Gomeri walikuwa: Ashkenazi, Rifathi na Togarma.
And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz and Riphath and Togarmah.
4 Wana wa Yavani walikuwa: Elisha, Tarshishi, Kitimu na Rodanimu.
And the sons of Javan: Elishah and Tarshish, the Kittim and the Dodanim.
5 (Kutokana na hawa mataifa ya Pwani yalienea katika nchi zao, kwa koo zao katika mataifa yao, kila moja kwa lugha yake.)
From these came the nations of the sea-lands, with their different families and languages.
6 Wana wa Hamu walikuwa: Kushi, Misraimu, Putu na Kanaani.
And the sons of Ham: Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan.
7 Wana wa Kushi walikuwa: Seba, Havila, Sabta, Raama na Sabteka. Wana wa Raama walikuwa: Sheba na Dedani.
And the sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah and Sabtah and Raamah and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
8 Kushi akamzaa Nimrodi, ambaye alikua akawa mtu shujaa duniani.
And Cush was the father of Nimrod, who was the first of the great men of the earth.
9 Alikuwa mwindaji hodari mbele za Bwana. Ndiyo sababu watu husema, “Kama Nimrodi, hodari wa kuwinda mbele za Bwana.”
He was a very great bowman, so that there is a saying, Like Nimrod, a very great bowman.
10 Vituo vyake vya kwanza katika ufalme wake vilikuwa Babeli, Ereki, Akadi na Kalne katika Shinari.
And at the first, his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 Kutoka nchi ile alikwenda Ashuru, ambako alijenga Ninawi, Rehoboth-iri, Kala,
From that land he went out into Assyria, building Nineveh with its wide streets and Calah,
12 na Reseni, iliyo kati ya Ninawi na Kala; huo ndio mji mkubwa.
And Resen between Nineveh and Calah, which is a very great town.
13 Misraimu alikuwa baba wa: Waludi, Waanami, Walehabi, Wanaftuhi,
And Mizraim was the father of the Ludim and Anamim and Lehabim and Naphtuhim;
14 Wapathrusi, Wakasluhi (hao ndio asili ya Wafilisti), na Wakaftori.
And Pathrusim and Casluhim and Caphtorim, from whom came the Philistines.
15 Kanaani alikuwa baba wa: Sidoni mzaliwa wake wa kwanza, Hethi,
And Canaan was the father of Zidon, who was his oldest son, and Heth,
16 Wayebusi, Waamori, Wagirgashi,
And the Jebusite and the Amorite and the Girgashite,
17 Wahivi, Waariki, Wasini,
And the Hivite and the Arkite and the Sinite,
18 Waarvadi, Wasemari na Wahamathi. Baadaye koo za Wakanaani zilitawanyika,
And the Arvadite and the Zemarite and the Hamathite; after that the families of the Canaanites went far and wide in all directions;
19 na mipaka ya Kanaani ilienea kutoka Sidoni kuelekea Gerari hadi Gaza, kisha kuelekea Sodoma, Gomora, Adma na Seboimu, hadi kufikia Lasha.
Their country stretching from Zidon to Gaza, in the direction of Gerar; and to Lasha, in the direction of Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboiim.
20 Hawa ni wana wa Hamu kwa koo zao na lugha zao, katika nchi zao na mataifa yao.
All these, with their different families, languages, lands, and nations, are the offspring of Ham.
21 Shemu ambaye ni ndugu mkubwa wa Yafethi, kwake kulizaliwa wana pia. Shemu alikuwa baba wa wana wote wa Eberi.
And Shem, the older brother of Japheth, the father of the children of Eber, had other sons in addition.
22 Wana wa Shemu walikuwa: Elamu, Ashuru, Arfaksadi, Ludi na Aramu.
These are the sons of Shem: Elam and Asshur and Arpachshad and Lud and Aram.
23 Wana wa Aramu walikuwa: Usi, Huli, Getheri na Mesheki.
And the sons of Aram: Uz and Hul and Gether and Mash.
24 Arfaksadi alikuwa baba wa Shela, naye Shela akamzaa Eberi.
And Arpachshad became the father of Shelah; and Shelah became the father of Eber.
25 Eberi akapata wana wawili: Mmoja wao aliitwa Pelegi, kwa kuwa wakati wake ndipo dunia iligawanyika; nduguye aliitwa Yoktani.
And Eber had two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, because in his time the peoples of the earth became separate; and his brother's name was Joktan.
26 Yoktani alikuwa baba wa: Almodadi, Shelefu, Hasarmawethi, Yera,
And Joktan was the father of Almodad and Sheleph and Hazarmaveth and Jerah
27 Hadoramu, Uzali, Dikla,
And Hadoram and Uzal and Diklah
28 Obali, Abimaeli, Sheba,
And Obal and Abimael and Sheba
29 Ofiri, Havila na Yobabu. Hawa wote walikuwa wana wa Yoktani.
And Ophir and Havilah and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.
30 Nchi waliyoishi ilienea toka Mesha kuelekea Sefari kwenye nchi ya vilima iliyoko mashariki.
And their country was from Mesha, in the direction of Sephar, the mountain of the east.
31 Hao ndio wana wa Shemu kwa koo zao na lugha zao, katika nchi zao na mataifa yao.
These, with their families and their languages and their lands and their nations, are the offspring of Shem.
32 Hizi ndizo koo za wana wa Noa, kufuatana na vizazi vyao, katika mataifa yao. Kutokana na hawa mataifa yalienea duniani kote baada ya gharika.
These are the families of the sons of Noah, in the order of their generations and their nations: from these came all the nations of the earth after the great flow of waters.
