1 Neno la Bwana likanijia kusema:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2 “Mwanadamu, fanya maombolezo kwa ajili ya Tiro.
Thou therefore, O son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre:
3 Umwambie Tiro, ulioko kwenye lango la bahari, ufanyao biashara na mataifa mengi ya pwani, ‘Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: “‘Ee Tiro, wewe umesema, “Mimi ni mkamilifu katika uzuri.”
And say to Tyre that dwelleth at the entry of the sea, being the mart of the people for many islands: Thus saith the Lord God: O Tyre, thou hast said: I am of perfect beauty,
4 Mipaka yako ilikuwa katika moyo wa bahari, wajenzi wako walikamilisha uzuri wako.
And situate in the heart of the sea. Thy neighbours, that built thee, have perfected thy beauty:
5 Walizifanya mbao zako zote kwa misunobari itokayo Seniri; walichukua mierezi kutoka Lebanoni kukutengenezea mlingoti.
With fir trees of Sanir they have built thee with all sea planks: they have taken cedars from Libanus to make thee masts.
6 Walichukua mialoni toka Bashani wakakutengenezea makasia yako; kwa miti ya msanduku kutoka pwani ya Kitimu wakatengeneza sitaha yako na kuipamba kwa pembe za ndovu.
They have cut thy oars out of the oaks of Basan: and they have made thee benches of Indian ivory and cabins with things brought from the islands of Italy.
7 Kitani safi kilichotariziwa kutoka Misri kilikuwa tanga lako, nacho kilikuwa bendera yako; chandarua chako kilikuwa cha rangi ya buluu na ya zambarau kutoka visiwa vya Elisha.
Fine broidered linen from Egypt was woven for thy sail, to be spread on thy mast: blue and purple from the islands of Elisa, were made thy covering.
8 Watu kutoka Sidoni na Arvadi walikuwa wapiga makasia yako; watu wako wenye ustadi, ee Tiro, walikuwa ndio mabaharia wako.
The inhabitants of Sidon, and the Arabians were thy rowers: thy wise men, O Tyre, were thy pilots.
9 Wazee wa Gebali pamoja na mafundi stadi walikuwa mafundi wako melini. Meli zote za baharini na mabaharia wao walikuja kwako ili kubadilishana bidhaa zako.
The ancients of Gebal, and the wise men thereof furnished mariners for the service of thy various furniture: all the ships of the sea, and their mariners were thy factors.
10 “‘Watu wa Uajemi, Ludi na Putu walikuwa askari katika jeshi lako. Walitundika ngao zao na chapeo zao kwenye kuta zako, wakileta fahari yako.
The Persians, and Lydians, and the Libyans were thy soldiers in thy army: they hung up the buckler and the helmet in thee for thy ornament.
11 Watu wa Arvadi na wa Heleki walikuwa juu ya kuta zako pande zote; watu wa Gamadi walikuwa kwenye minara yako. Walitundika ngao zao kuzizunguka kuta zako; wakaukamilisha uzuri wako.
The men of Arad were with thy army upon thy walls round about: the Pygmeans also that were in thy towers, hung up their quivers on thy walls round about: they perfected thy beauty.
12 “‘Tarshishi walifanya biashara nawe kwa sababu ya utajiri wako mkubwa wa bidhaa, walibadilisha fedha, chuma, bati na risasi kwa mali zako.
The Carthaginians thy merchants supplied thy fairs with a multitude of all kinds of riches, with silver, iron, tin, and lead.
13 “‘Uyunani, Tubali na Mesheki, walifanya biashara nawe, walibadilisha watumwa na vyombo vya shaba kwa bidhaa zako.
Greece, Thubal, and Mosoch, they were thy merchants: they brought to thy people slaves and vessels of brass.
14 “‘Watu wa Beth-Togarma walibadilisha farasi wa mizigo, farasi wa vita na nyumbu kwa mali zako.
From the house of Thogorma they brought horses, and horsemen, and mules to thy market.
15 “‘Watu wa Dedani walifanya biashara nawe, watu wengi wa nchi za pwani walikuwa wachuuzi wako, walikulipa kwa pembe za ndovu na mpingo.
The men of Dedan were thy merchants: many islands were the traffic of thy hand, they exchanged for thy price teeth of ivory and ebony.
16 “‘Watu wa Aramu walifanya biashara nawe kwa ajili ya wingi wa kazi za mikono yako, wakibadilishana kwa almasi, vitambaa vya rangi ya zambarau, vitambaa vilivyotariziwa, kitani safi, matumbawe na akiki nyekundu.
The Syrian was thy merchant: by reason of the multitude of thy works, they set forth precious stones, and purple, and broidered works, and fine linen, and silk, and chodchod in thy market.
17 “‘Yuda na Israeli walifanya biashara nawe, walibadilishana kwa ngano kutoka Minithi, mtama, asali, mafuta na zeri ya kuponyeshea.
Juda and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants with the best corn: they set forth balm, and honey, and oil, and rosin in thy fairs.
18 “‘Dameski, kwa sababu ya wingi wa kazi za mikono yako na ukuu wa utajiri wa mali, walifanya biashara nawe wakibadilishana mvinyo kutoka Helboni na sufu kutoka Zahari.
The men of Damascus were thy merchants in the multitude of thy works, in the multitude of divers riches, in rich wine, in wool of the best colour.
19 “‘Wadani na Wayunani kutoka Uzali, walikuletea mali za biashara, nao wakabadilishana nawe chuma kilichofuliwa, mdalasini na mchaichai.
Dan, and Greece, and Mosel have set forth in thy marts wrought iron: stacte, and calamus were in thy market.
20 “‘Dedani alifanya biashara nawe kwa matandiko ya farasi.
The men of Dedan were thy merchants in tapestry for seats.
21 “‘Arabuni na wakuu wote wa Kedari walikuwa wanunuzi wako waliobadilishana bidhaa zako na wana-kondoo, kondoo dume na mbuzi.
Arabia, and all the princes of Cedar, they were the merchants of thy hand: thy merchants came to thee with lambs, and rants, and kids.
22 “‘Wafanyabiashara wa Sheba na wa Raama walifanya biashara nawe, wakabadilishana bidhaa zako na aina zote za vikolezi, vito vya thamani na dhahabu.
The sellers of Saba, and Reema, they were thy merchants: with all the best spices, and precious stones, and gold, which they set forth in thy market.
23 “‘Harani, Kane na Edeni na wafanyabiashara wa Sheba, Ashuru na Kilmadi walifanya biashara nawe.
Haran, and Chene, and Eden were thy merchants; Saba, Assur, and Chelmad sold to thee.
24 Kwenye soko lako, walifanya biashara nawe kwa mavazi mazuri, vitambaa vya buluu, nguo za kutariziwa na mazulia ya rangi mbalimbali yenye kamba zilizosokotwa na kuwekwa mafundo imara.
They were thy merchants in divers manners, with bales of blue cloth, and of embroidered work, and of precious riches, which were wrapped up and bound with cords: they had cedars also in thy merchandise.
25 “‘Merikebu za Tarshishi ndizo zinazokusafirishia bidhaa zako. Umejazwa shehena kubwa katika moyo wa bahari.
The ships of the sea, were thy chief in thy merchandise: and thou wast replenished, and glorified exceedingly in the heart of the sea.
26 Wapiga makasia wako wanakupeleka mpaka kwenye maji makavu. Lakini upepo wa mashariki umekuvunja vipande vipande katika moyo wa bahari.
Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the south wind hath broken thee in the heart of the sea.
27 Utajiri wako, bidhaa zako na mali zako, mabaharia wako, manahodha wako, mafundi wako wa meli, wafanyabiashara wako na askari wako wote, na kila mmoja aliyeko melini atazama kwenye moyo wa bahari siku ile ya kuvunjika kwa meli yako.
Thy riches, and thy treasures, and thy manifold furniture, thy mariners, and thy pilots, who kept thy goods, and were chief over thy people: thy men of war also, that were in thee, with all thy multitude that is in the midst of thee: shall fall in the heart of the sea in the day of thy ruin.
28 Nchi za pwani zitatetemeka wakati mabaharia wako watakapopiga kelele.
Thy fleets shall be troubled at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.
29 Wote wapigao makasia wataacha meli zao, mabaharia wote na wanamaji wote watasimama pwani.
And all that handled the oar shall come down from their ships: the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea shall stand upon the land:
30 Watapaza sauti zao na kulia sana kwa ajili yako; watajitupia mavumbi juu ya vichwa vyao na kujivingirisha kwenye majivu.
And they shall mourn over thee with a loud voice, and shall cry bitterly: and they shall cast up dust upon their heads, and shall be sprinkled with ashes.
31 Watanyoa nywele zao kwa ajili yako, nao watavaa nguo za magunia. Watakulilia kwa uchungu wa moyo na kwa maombolezo makuu.
And they shall shave themselves bald for thee, and shall be girded with haircloth: and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of soul, with most bitter weeping.
32 Watakapokuwa wanalia na kuomboleza juu yako, watafanya maombolezo kukuhusu wakisema: “Ni nani aliyepata kuangamizwa kama Tiro, katika moyo wa bahari?”
And they shall take up a mournful song for thee, and snail lament thee: What city is like Tyre, which is become silent in the midst of the sea?
33 Wakati bidhaa zako zilipotoka baharini, ulitosheleza mataifa mengi; kwa wingi wa utajiri wako na bidhaa zako ulitajirisha wafalme wa dunia.
Which by thy merchandise that went from thee by sea didst fill many people: which by the multitude of thy riches, and of thy people didst enrich the kings of the earth.
34 Sasa umevunjavunjwa na bahari, katika vilindi vya maji, bidhaa zako na kundi lako lote vimezama pamoja nawe.
Now thou art destroyed by the sea, thy riches are in the bottom of the waters, and all the multitude that was in the midst of thee is fallen.
35 Wote waishio katika nchi za pwani wanakustaajabia; wafalme wao wanatetemeka kwa hofu kuu, nazo nyuso zao zimekunjamana kwa woga.
All the inhabitants of the islands are astonished at thee: and all their kings being struck with the storm have changed their countenance.
36 Wafanyabiashara miongoni mwa mataifa wanakucheka; umefikia mwisho wa kutisha nawe hutakuwepo tena.’”
The merchants of people have hissed at thee: thou art brought to nothing, and thou shalt never be any more.
