Ezekieli 22
1 Neno la Bwana likanijia kusema:
And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
2 “Mwanadamu, je, wewe utauhukumu? Je, utauhukumu huu mji umwagao damu? Basi uujulishe juu ya matendo yake yote ya machukizo
Punish, punish, son of man, the city of blood, and show her all her abominations, and say,
3 uuambie: ‘Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: Ee mji ule ujileteao maangamizi wenyewe kwa kumwaga damu ndani yake na kujinajisi wenyewe kwa kutengeneza sanamu,
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: O city that sheddest blood in the midst of thee, that thy time may come, and makest idols to defile thyself!
4 umekuwa na hatia kwa sababu ya damu uliyomwaga na umetiwa unajisi kwa sanamu ulizotengeneza. Umejiletea mwisho wa siku zako na mwisho wa miaka yako umewadia. Kwa hiyo nitakufanya kitu cha kudharauliwa kwa mataifa na kitu cha mzaha kwa nchi zote.
Through the blood which thou sheddest thou bringest guilt upon thyself, and through the idols which thou makest thou pollutest thyself, and thou causest thy days to draw near, and comest to thy years. Therefore do I make thee a reproach to the nations, and a derision to all countries.
5 Wale walio karibu na wale walio mbali watakudhihaki, Ewe mji wenye sifa mbaya, uliyejaa ghasia.
Those that are near, and those that are far from thee, shall mock thee as infamous, full of confusion.
6 “‘Ona jinsi kila mkuu wa Israeli aliyeko ndani yako anavyotumia nguvu zake kumwaga damu.
Behold the princes of Israel are engaged every one according to his strength within thee to shed blood.
7 Ndani yako wamewadharau baba na mama, ndani yako wamewatendea wageni udhalimu na kuwaonea yatima na wajane.
In thee they set light by father and mother; in thee are they guilty of oppression to the stranger; in thee do they oppress the fatherless and the widow.
8 Mmedharau vitu vyangu vitakatifu na kuzinajisi Sabato zangu.
Thou hast despised my holy things, and profaned my sabbaths.
9 Ndani yako wako watu wasingiziaji, watu walio tayari kumwaga damu, ndani yako wako wale wanaokula vyakula vilivyotolewa mahali pa ibada za miungu kwenye milima, na kutenda matendo ya uasherati.
In thee are men who carry tales, that they may shed blood; in thee do they eat upon the mountains; in the midst of thee do they commit lewdness.
10 Ndani yako wako wale wanaovunjia heshima vitanda vya baba zao, ndani yako wamo wale wanaowatendea wanawake jeuri wakiwa katika hedhi, wakati wakiwa si safi.
In thee doth the son uncover the father's nakedness; in thee do they lie with a woman in her uncleanness.
11 Ndani yako mtu hufanya mambo ya machukizo na mke wa jirani yake, mwingine kwa aibu kubwa hukutana kimwili na mke wa mwanawe, mwingine humtenda jeuri dada yake, binti wa baba yake hasa.
And one committeth abomination with his neighbor's wife; and another, with incestuous lewdness, defileth his daughter-in-law; and in thee another lieth with his sister, his father's daughter.
12 Ndani yako watu hupokea rushwa ili kumwaga damu, mnapokea riba na faida ya ziada na kupata faida isiyokuwa halali kutoka kwa jirani ili kupata faida kubwa kupita kiasi. Nawe umenisahau mimi, asema Bwana Mwenyezi.
In thee do they take a reward to shed blood. Thou takest usury and increase, and thou hast enriched thyself from thy neighbor by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord Jehovah.
13 “‘Hakika nitapiga makofi kwa ajili ya faida isiyo halali uliyojipatia na kwa damu uliyoimwaga ndani yako.
Therefore, behold, I have smitten my hands together at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at the blood which hath been shed in the midst of thee.
14 Je, ujasiri wako utadumu au mikono yako itakuwa na nguvu siku hiyo nitakapokushughulikia? Mimi Bwana nimesema na nitalifanya.
Can thy heart endure, or can thy hands be strong, in the day when I shall deal with thee? I, Jehovah, have spoken it, and will do it.
15 Nitakutawanya miongoni mwa mataifa na kukutapanya katika nchi mbalimbali nami nitakomesha unajisi wako.
I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thine impurity out of thee;
16 Ukiisha kunajisika mbele ya mataifa, utajua kuwa Mimi ndimi Bwana.’”
and thou shalt through thyself be profaned before the eyes of the nations, and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah.
17 Ndipo neno la Bwana likanijia kusema:
And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
18 “Mwanadamu, nyumba ya Israeli imekuwa kwangu takataka ya chuma, wote kwangu wamekuwa shaba, bati, chuma na risasi iliyoachwa kalibuni. Wao ni taka ya madini ya fedha tu.
Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross to me; all of them are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are the dross of silver.
19 Kwa hiyo hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo: ‘Kwa kuwa wote mmekuwa takataka ya chuma, nitawakusanya Yerusalemu.
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye are all of you become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
20 Kama vile watu wakusanyavyo fedha, shaba, chuma, risasi na bati kalibuni ili kuyeyusha kwa moto mkali, ndivyo nitakavyowakusanya katika hasira yangu na ghadhabu yangu kuwaweka ndani ya mji na kuwayeyusha.
As men gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it, so will I gather you in my anger and in my fury, and I will place you there and melt you.
21 Nitawakusanya na kupuliza juu yenu moto wa hasira yangu na ghadhabu yangu nanyi mtayeyushwa ndani ya huo mji.
Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you with the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.
22 Kama fedha iyeyukavyo kalibuni, ndivyo mtakavyoyeyuka ndani ya huo mji, nanyi mtajua kuwa Mimi Bwana nimemwaga ghadhabu yangu juu yenu.’”
As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I, Jehovah, have poured out my fury upon you.
23 Neno la Bwana likanijia tena kusema:
And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
24 “Mwanadamu, iambie nchi, ‘Wewe ni nchi ambayo haijapata mvua wala manyunyu katika siku ya ghadhabu.’
Son of man, say to her, Thou art a land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.
25 Kuna hila mbaya ya wakuu ndani yake kama simba angurumaye akirarua mawindo yake, wanakula watu, wanachukua hazina na vitu vya thamani na kuongeza idadi ya wajane ndani yake.
There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst of her; like a roaring lion tearing the prey, they devour the lives of men; they take possession of treasures, and precious things, and make many widows in the midst of her.
26 Makuhani wake wameihalifu sheria yangu na kunajisi vitu vyangu vitakatifu, hawatofautishi kati ya vitu vitakatifu na vitu vya kawaida. Wanafundisha kuwa hakuna tofauti kati ya vitu vilivyo najisi na visivyo najisi, nao wanafumba macho yao katika kutunza Sabato zangu, hivyo katikati yao nimetiwa unajisi.
Her priests violate my law, and profane my holy things. They make no distinction between the holy and profane, and show not the difference between the clean and the unclean; and they hide their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
27 Maafisa wake walioko ndani yake ni kama mbwa mwitu wararuao mawindo yao, wanamwaga damu na kuua watu ili kupata faida ya udhalimu.
Her princes in the midst of her are like wolves tearing the prey. They shed blood, they destroy life, that they may get gain.
28 Manabii wake wanapaka chokaa matendo haya kwa maono ya uongo na utabiri wa udanganyifu. Wanasema, ‘Hili ndilo Bwana Mwenyezi asemalo,’ wakati Bwana hajasema.
Her prophets daub for them with untempered mortar, seeing falsehood, and divining to them, saying, “Thus saith the Lord Jehovah,” when Jehovah hath not spoken.
29 Watu wa nchi wanatoza kwa nguvu na kufanya unyangʼanyi, wanawatenda jeuri maskini na wahitaji na kuwaonea wageni, wakiwanyima haki.
The people of the land are guilty of oppression, and practise robbery, and distress the poor and needy; yea, they oppress the stranger, and have no justice.
30 “Nami nikatafuta mtu miongoni mwao, ambaye angejenga ukuta na kusimama mbele zangu mahali palipobomoka kwa ajili ya watu wa nchi ili nisije nikaiangamiza, lakini sikumwona mtu yeyote.
I have sought for a man among them that should make a wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I might not destroy it; but I found none.
31 Hivyo nitaimwaga ghadhabu yangu juu yao na kuwateketeza kwa moto wa hasira yangu, nikiyaleta juu ya vichwa vyao yale yote waliyotenda, asema Bwana Mwenyezi.”
Therefore will I pour out my indignation upon them; I will consume them with the fire of my wrath; I will bring their way upon their heads, saith the Lord Jehovah.
