1 Shikeni mwezi wa Abibu, na kuiadhimisha Pasaka ya Bwana Mungu wenu, kwa sababu katika mwezi wa Abibu, Mungu aliwatoa Misri usiku.
Observe the month of Abib, when thou shalt keep a passover unto Yahweh thy God, —for in the month of Abib, did Yahweh thy God bring thee forth out of Egypt by night:
2 Mtatoa dhabihu ya Pasaka ya mnyama kwa Bwana Mungu wenu kutoka kundi lenu la mbuzi na kondoo au la ngʼombe, mahali pale ambapo Bwana atapachagua kama makao kwa ajili ya Jina lake.
therefore shalt thou sacrifice a passover unto Yahweh thy God of flock or herd, —in the place which Yahweh shall choose to make a habitation for his name there.
3 Msile nyama hiyo pamoja na mikate iliyotiwa chachu, lakini kwa siku saba mtakula mikate isiyotiwa chachu, mikate ya kujitesa, kwa sababu mliondoka Misri kwa haraka, ili kwamba siku zote za maisha yenu mpate kukumbuka wakati wenu wa kuondoka Misri.
Thou shalt not eat therewith any thing leavened, seven days, shalt thou eat therewith unleavened cakes the bread of humiliation, —for in haste, camest thou forth out of the land of Egypt, that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt, all the days of thy life.
4 Chachu isionekane katika mali zenu katika nchi yenu yote kwa siku saba. Nyama yoyote ya dhabihu mtakayotoa jioni ya siku ya kwanza isibakizwe mpaka asubuhi.
And there shall not be seen with thee leaven in any of thy bounds seven days, —neither shall there remain all night of the flesh which thou shalt sacrifice in the evening, on the first day, unto the morning.
5 Kamwe msitoe dhabihu ya Pasaka katika mji wowote ambao Bwana Mungu wenu amewapa,
Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover, —within any of thine own gates which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee;
6 isipokuwa mahali atakapopachagua kama makao kwa ajili ya Jina lake. Hapo ndipo lazima mtoe dhabihu ya Pasaka jioni, jua litakapotua, iwe kumbukumbu yenu ya kutoka Misri.
but in the place which Yahweh thy God shall choose to make a habitation for his name, there, shalt thou sacrifice the passover in the evening, —at the going in of the sun, at the very time thou camest forth out of Egypt.
7 Okeni na mle mahali pale ambapo Bwana Mungu wenu atakapopachagua, kisha asubuhi mrudi kwenye mahema yenu.
Therefore shalt thou cook and eat it in the place which Yahweh thy God, shall choose, —and shalt turn away in the morning, and go thy way unto thy tents.
8 Kwa siku sita mtakula mikate isiyotiwa chachu na siku ya saba fanyeni kusanyiko kwa ajili ya Bwana Mungu wenu na msifanye kazi.
Six days, shalt thou eat unleavened cakes, —and, on the seventh day, shall be a closing feast, unto Yahweh thy God, thou shalt do no work.
9 Mhesabu majuma saba tangu wakati mnapoanza kuchukua mundu kuvuna nafaka.
Seven weeks, shalt thou count unto thee, —from the beginning of thrusting in the sickle into the standing corn, shalt thou begin to count, seven weeks.
10 Kisha msherehekee Sikukuu ya Majuma kwa Bwana Mungu wenu kwa kutoa sadaka ya hiari kwa kadiri ya baraka ambayo Bwana Mungu wenu amewapa.
So shalt thou keep the festival of weeks unto Yahweh thy God, in the measure of the freewill offering of thy hand which thou shalt give, —as Yahweh thy God shall bless thee.
11 Shangilieni mbele za Bwana Mungu wenu mahali atakapopachagua kama makao ya Jina lake, ninyi, wana wenu na binti zenu, watumishi wenu wa kiume na wa kike, Walawi walio katika miji yenu, na wageni, yatima na wajane waishio miongoni mwenu.
So shalt thou rejoice before Yahweh thy God—thou, and thy son and thy daughter and thy servant and thy handmaid, and the Levite who is within thy gates, and the sojourner, and the fatherless and the widow who are in thy midst, —in the place which Yahweh thy God shall choose, to make a habitation for his name there.
12 Kumbukeni kwamba mlikuwa watumwa kule Misri na mfuate amri hizi kwa uangalifu.
So shalt thou remember that a servant, thou wast in Egypt, —and shalt observe and do these statutes.
13 Adhimisheni sikukuu ya vibanda kwa siku saba baada ya kukusanya mazao yenu ya nafaka na kukamua zabibu.
The festival of booths, shalt thou keep for thyself seven days, —when thou hast gathered in out of thy threshing-floor and out of thy wine-vat.
14 Mfurahie sikukuu yenu, ninyi, wana wenu, binti zenu, watumishi wenu wa kiume na wa kike, Walawi, wageni, yatima na wajane ambao wanaishi katika miji yenu.
And thou shalt rejoice in thy festival, —thou, and thy son and thy daughter, and thy servant and thy handmaid, and the Levite and the sojourner, and the fatherless and the widow, who are within thy gates.
15 Kwa siku saba mtaiadhimisha sikukuu ya Bwana Mungu wenu katika mahali atakapopachagua Bwana. Kwa kuwa Bwana Mungu wenu atawabariki katika mavuno yenu na katika kazi zote za mikono yenu na furaha yenu itakamilika.
Seven days, shalt thou keep festival unto Yahweh thy God, in the place which Yahweh shall choose, —for Yahweh thy God, will bless thee, in all thine increase and in all the work of thy hands, —therefore shalt thou do nothing but, rejoice.
16 Wanaume wenu wote lazima wajitokeze mara tatu kwa mwaka mbele za Bwana Mungu wenu mahali atakapopachagua: kwa ajili ya Sikukuu ya Mikate Isiyotiwa Chachu, Sikukuu ya Majuma, na Sikukuu ya Vibanda. Hakuna mtu atakayejitokeza mbele za Bwana mikono mitupu:
Three times in the year, shall each one of thy males see the face of Yahweh thy God, in the place which he shall choose, at the festival of unleavened cakes and at the festival of weeks and at the festival of booths, —and none shall see the face of Yahweh empty-handed:
17 Kila mmoja wenu ni lazima alete zawadi kulingana na jinsi ambavyo Bwana Mungu wenu alivyowabariki.
every man according as his hand can give, —according to the blessing of Yahweh thy God, which he hath bestowed upon thee.
18 Wateue waamuzi na maafisa kwa kila kabila lenu katika kila mji ambao Bwana Mungu wenu anawapa, nao watawaamua watu kwa usawa.
Judges and officers, shalt thou appoint thee in all thy gates, which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee, by thy tribes, —and they shall judge the people, with righteous judgment,
19 Msipotoshe haki wala msifanye upendeleo. Msikubali rushwa kwa sababu rushwa hupofusha macho ya wenye busara na kugeuza maneno ya wenye haki.
Thou shalt not wrest judgment, thou shalt not take note of faces, —nor shalt thou accept a bribe, for the bribe, blindeth the eyes of wise men, and perverteth the words of righteous men.
20 Mfuate haki na haki peke yake, ili mweze kuishi na kuimiliki nchi ambayo Bwana Mungu wenu anawapa.
What is right, what is right, shalt thou pursue, —that thou mayest live and possess the land, which, Yahweh thy God, is giving unto thee.
21 Msisimamishe nguzo yoyote ya Ashera kando ya madhabahu mliyomjengea Bwana Mungu wenu,
Thou shalt not plant thee, as a sacred stem, any tree, —near unto the altar of Yahweh thy God which thou shalt make for thyself;
22 wala msisimamishe jiwe la kuabudu, kwa maana Bwana Mungu wenu anavichukia vitu hivi.
neither shalt thou set thee up a pillar, —which Yahweh thy God, doth hate.
