Matendo 12
1 Wakati huo huo Mfalme Herode Agripa aliwakamata baadhi ya watu wa kanisa.
At that [very] now time put forth Herod the king the hands to mistreat some of those of the church.
2 Akaamuru Yakobo, ndugu yake Yohana, auawe kwa upanga.
He executed then James the brother of John with the sword.
3 Alipoona jambo hilo limewapendeza Wayahudi, akaendelea, akamkamata pia Petro. Hii ilitokea wakati wa Sikukuu ya Mikate Isiyotiwa Chachu.
(and *k*) Having seen (now *no*) that pleasing it is to the Jews, he proceeded to take also Peter — these were now (the *no*) days of the Unleavened [Bread] —
4 Baada ya kumkamata alimtia gerezani, chini ya ulinzi wa vikundi vinne vya askari, vyenye askari wanne kila kimoja. Herode alikuwa amekusudia kumtoa na kumfanyia mashtaka mbele ya watu baada ya Pasaka.
whom also having seized he put in prison having delivered [him] to four sets of four soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring out him to the people.
5 Kwa hiyo Petro akawekwa gerezani, lakini kanisa lilikuwa likimwombea kwa Mungu kwa bidii.
Indeed therefore Peter was kept in the prison; prayer however was (fervently *N(k)O*) being made by the church to God (concerning *N(k)O*) him.
6 Usiku ule kabla ya siku ambayo Herode Agripa alikuwa amekusudia kumtoa na kumfanyia mashtaka, Petro alikuwa amelala kati ya askari wawili, akiwa amefungwa kwa minyororo miwili. Nao walinzi wa zamu walikuwa wakilinda penye lango la gereza.
When then was about (to bring forth *N(k)(o)*) him Herod, in the night that [one] was Peter sleeping between two soldiers bound with chains two, guards also before the door were watching the prison.
7 Ghafula malaika wa Bwana akatokea na nuru ikamulika mle ndani ya gereza. Yule malaika akampiga Petro ubavuni na kumwamsha, akisema, “Ondoka upesi!” Mara ile minyororo ikaanguka kutoka mikononi mwa Petro.
And behold an angel of [the] Lord stood by and a light shone in the cell; Having struck then the side of Peter he woke up him saying; do rise up with speed. And fell of him the chains off the hands.
8 Yule malaika akamwambia, “Vaa nguo zako na viatu vyako.” Petro akafanya hivyo. Kisha akamwambia, “Jifunge vazi lako na unifuate.”
Said (then *N(k)O*) the angel to him; (do dress yourself *N(K)O*) and do yourself put on the sandals of you. He did and so. And he says to him; do yourself wrap around the cloak of you and do follow me.
9 Petro akatoka mle gerezani akiwa amefuatana na yule malaika. Hakujua wakati huo kuwa yaliyokuwa yakitukia yalikuwa kweli. Alidhani kuwa anaona maono.
And having gone forth he was following (him; *k*) and not did know that real is what is happening through the angel, he was thinking however a vision to see.
10 Wakapita lindo la kwanza na la pili, ndipo wakafika kwenye lango la chuma linaloelekea mjini. Lango likawafungukia lenyewe, nao wakapita hapo wakatoka nje. Baada ya kutembea umbali wa mtaa mmoja, ghafula yule malaika akamwacha Petro.
Having passed through then a first guard and a second they came to the gate iron which is leading into the city, which by itself (opened *N(k)O*) to them, And having gone out they went on through street one and immediately departed the angel from him.
11 Ndipo Petro akarudiwa na fahamu, akasema, “Sasa ninajua bila shaka yoyote kuwa Bwana amemtuma malaika wake na kuniokoa kutoka makucha ya Herode Agripa na kutoka matazamio yote ya Wayahudi.”
And Peter to himself having come said; Now I know truly that has sent forth (the *no*) Lord the angel of Him and delivered me out of [the] hand of Herod and all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
12 Mara Petro alipotambua hili alikwenda nyumbani kwa Maria, mama yake Yohana aliyeitwa pia Marko, ambako watu wengi walikuwa wamekutana kwa maombi.
Having considered [it] also he came to the house (*no*) of Mary the mother of John who is called Mark, where were many gathered together and praying.
13 Petro alipobisha hodi kwenye lango la nje, mtumishi wa kike jina lake Roda, akaja kumfungulia.
When was knocking then (*k*) (he *N(K)O*) [at] the door of the gate came a girl to answer named Rhoda;
14 Alipoitambua sauti ya Petro, alifurahi mno akarudi bila kufungua na kuwaeleza kwamba, “Petro yuko langoni!”
And having recognized the voice of Peter from joy not she opened the gate having run in but she reported to have been standing Peter before the gate.
15 Wakamwambia yule mtumishi wa kike, “Umerukwa na akili.” Alipozidi kusisitiza kuwa ni kweli, wakasema, “Lazima awe ni malaika wake.”
And to her they said; You rave. But she was insisting [it] so to be. And they were saying; The angel it is of him.
16 Lakini Petro aliendelea kugonga langoni, nao walipofungua lango na kumwona Petro, walistaajabu sana.
But Peter was continuing knocking; having opened [it] then they saw him and were amazed.
17 Yeye akawaashiria kwa mkono wake wanyamaze kimya, akawaeleza jinsi Bwana alivyomtoa gerezani. Naye akaongeza kusema, “Waelezeni Yakobo na ndugu wengine habari hizi.” Kisha akaondoka akaenda sehemu nyingine.
Having made a sign then to them with the hand to be silent, he related to them how the Lord him had brought out of the prison; He said (then; *N(k)O*) do report to James and to the brothers these things. And having gone out he went to another place.
18 Kulipokucha kukawa na fadhaa kubwa miongoni mwa wale askari kuhusu yaliyomtukia Petro.
When was coming now day there was disturbance no small among the soldiers what then [of] Peter has become.
19 Baada ya Herode kuamuru atafutwe kila mahali na bila kumpata, aliwahoji wale askari walinzi kisha akatoa amri wauawe. Basi Herode Agripa akatoka Uyahudi akaenda Kaisaria, akakaa huko kwa muda.
Herod then having sought after him and not having found [him] having examined the guards he commanded [them] to be led away [to death], And having gone down from Judea to (*k*) Caesarea he was staying [there].
20 Basi Herode Agripa alikuwa amekasirishwa sana na watu wa Tiro na Sidoni. Hivyo watu wa miji hiyo miwili wakaungana pamoja wakatafuta kukutana naye. Wakiisha kuungwa mkono na Blasto, mtumishi maalum wa Mfalme Herode Agripa aliyeaminika, wakaomba mapatano ya amani maana nchi zao zilitegemea nchi ya huyo mfalme kwa mahitaji yao ya chakula.
He was now (*k*) (Herod *K*) furiously angry with [the] Tyrians and Sidonians; with one accord then they were coming to him And having gained Blastus who [was] over the bedchamber of the king they were seeking peace, because of being nourished their region by the king’s.
21 Katika siku iliyochaguliwa Herode Agripa akavaa mavazi yake ya kifalme, akaketi kwenye kiti chake cha enzi na kuwahutubia watu.
On the appointed now day Herod having put on apparel royal and having sat on the throne was making an address to them.
22 Watu waliokuwa wamekusanyika wakapiga kelele, wakisema, “Hii si sauti ya mwanadamu, bali ni ya Mungu.”
And the people were crying out; Of a god [this is the] voice and not of a man!
23 Ghafula, kwa kuwa Herode hakumpa Mungu utukufu, malaika wa Bwana akampiga, naye akaliwa na chango, akafa.
Immediately then struck him an angel of [the] Lord in return for that not he gave the glory to God, and having been eaten by worms he breathed his last.
24 Lakini neno la Mungu likaendelea mbele na kuenea, nao wengi wakaambatana nalo.
But the word (of God *NK(O)*) was continuing to grow and was being multiplied.
25 Barnaba na Sauli walipomaliza ile huduma yao iliyowapeleka, wakarudi Yerusalemu wakiwa pamoja na Yohana aitwaye Marko.
Barnabas then and Saul returned (to *N(K)O*) Jerusalem having fulfilled the mission, having taken with [them] (and *k*) John the [one] having been called Mark.
