1 Miaka ishirini ilipopita, ambayo katika hiyo Solomoni alilijenga Hekalu la Bwana na jumba lake mwenyewe la kifalme,
And it came to pass, at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the house of Yahweh, and his own house,
2 Solomoni akajenga tena vijiji vile ambavyo Hiramu alikuwa amempa, naye akawapa Waisraeli waishi humo.
that, the cities which Huram had given to Solomon, Solomon built them, —and caused, the sons of Israel, to dwell there.
3 Kisha Solomoni akaenda Hamath-Soba na kuuteka.
And Solomon went to Hamath-zobah, —and prevailed against it;
4 Pia akajenga mji wa Tadmori katika jangwa na miji yote ya kuhifadhia vitu katika Hamathi.
and he built Tadmor, in the wilderness, —and all the store cities, which he built in Hamath;
5 Akajenga tena Beth-Horoni ya Juu na Beth-Horoni ya Chini, miji yenye ngome, kuta, malango na makomeo.
and he built Beth-horon, the upper, and Beth-horon, the nether, —fortified cities, with walls, and doors and bars;
6 Solomoni pia akajenga Baalathi na miji yake yote ya kuhifadhia vitu, na miji kwa ajili ya magari yake na kwa ajili ya farasi wake, chochote alichotaka kujenga katika Yerusalemu, katika Lebanoni na katika nchi yote aliyotawala.
and Baalath, and all the store cities which pertained to Solomon, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen, —and every delight of Solomon which he delighted to build in Jerusalem, and in the Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
7 Watu wote waliosalia kutoka kwa Wahiti, Waamori, Waperizi, Wahivi na Wayebusi (haya mataifa hayakuwa Waisraeli),
As for all the people that were left, of the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, who were not, of Israel; —
8 yaani, wazao wao waliobakia katika nchi, ambao Waisraeli hawakuwa wamewaangamiza: hawa Solomoni akawalazimisha kuwa watumwa katika shokoa, kama ilivyo hadi leo.
of their sons who were left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel had not utterly destroyed, Solomon enrolled them as tributary—unto this day.
9 Lakini Solomoni hakuwafanya Waisraeli watumwa kwa ajili ya kazi yake, bali walikuwa wapiganaji, majemadari, maafisa wake, majemadari wa magari yake ya vita na waendesha magari ya vita.
But, of the sons of Israel, were there none whom he delivered up as bondmen unto his work, —for, they, were men of war, and his captains and his heroes, and captains over his chariots, and his horsemen.
10 Pia walikuwa maafisa wakuu wa Mfalme Solomoni, yaani, maafisa wakaguzi 250 waliosimamia watu.
These, moreover, were the chiefs of his officers whom King Solomon had, two hundred and fifty, —who wielded dominion over the people.
11 Solomoni akampandisha mke wake binti Farao kutoka Mji wa Daudi na kumleta jumba la kifalme alilokuwa amemjengea, kwa kuwa alisema, “Mke wangu hataishi katika jumba la kifalme la Daudi mfalme wa Israeli, kwa sababu mahali ambapo Sanduku la Bwana limefika ni patakatifu.”
And, the daughter of Pharaoh, Solomon brought up, out of the city of David, unto the house which he had built for her, —for he said, A wife of mine must not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, for holy are those places whereinto the ark of Yahweh hath come.
12 Mfalme Solomoni akamtolea Bwana dhabihu za kuteketezwa juu ya madhabahu ya Bwana ambayo alikuwa ameijenga mbele ya ukumbi,
Then, Solomon offered up ascending-sacrifices, unto Yahweh, —upon the altar of Yahweh, which he had built before the porch:
13 kulingana na mahitaji ya kila siku kwa ajili ya sadaka zilizoamriwa na Mose kwa ajili ya Sabato, Mwezi Mwandamo na sikukuu nyingine tatu za mwaka, yaani, Sikukuu ya Mikate Isiyotiwa Chachu, Sikukuu ya Majuma na Sikukuu ya Vibanda.
even according to the duty of each a day upon [its own] day, offering up according to the commandment of Moses, for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the appointed feasts, three times in the year, —in the festival of unleavened cakes and in the festival of weeks, and in the festival of booths;
14 Kwa kushika maagizo ya Daudi baba yake, aliweka migawanyo ya makuhani kwa ajili ya kazi zao, nao Walawi kuongoza kusifu na kusaidia makuhani kufuatana na mahitaji ya kila siku. Pia akaweka mabawabu katika migawanyo kwa ajili ya malango mbalimbali, kwa sababu hili ndilo Daudi mtu wa Mungu alilokuwa ameagiza.
and he caused to stand, according to the regulation of David his father, the courses of the priests over their service and of the Levites over their charges, to offer praise and to minister before the priests, for the duty of each day upon its own day, and the gate-keepers in their courses, at every several gate, —for, such, was the commandment of David the man of God;
15 Nao hawakuziacha amri za mfalme alizoamuru makuhani au Walawi katika jambo lolote, ikiwa ni pamoja na zile za hazina.
neither departed they from the commandment of the king, concerning the priests and the Levites as to any duty, or as to the treasuries.
16 Kazi yote ya Mfalme Solomoni ilifanyika kuanzia siku msingi wa Hekalu la Bwana ulipowekwa mpaka kukamilika kwake. Kwa hiyo Hekalu la Bwana likamalizika kujengwa.
So all the work of Solomon was prepared, from the day of founding the house of Yahweh, even as far as the finishing thereof, —complete was the house of Yahweh.
17 Ndipo Solomoni akaenda Esion-Geberi na Elathi katika pwani ya Edomu.
Then, went Solomon to Ezion-geber, and unto Eloth on the seashore in the land of Edom.
18 Naye Hiramu alimpelekea meli zilizoongozwa na maafisa wake mwenyewe, watu waliokuwa na ujuzi wa baharini. Hawa watu pamoja na wale wa Solomoni wakasafiri kwa bahari mpaka Ofiri, wakaleta kutoka huko talanta 450 za dhahabu, ambazo walimkabidhi Mfalme Solomoni.
And Huram sent him—by the hand of his servants—ships, and servants skilled in the sea, and they came, with the servants of Solomon, towards Ophir, and took from thence, four hundred and fifty talents of gold, —and brought unto King Solomon.
