1 Baada ya Solomoni kumaliza kuomba, moto ukashuka kutoka mbinguni na kuteketeza sadaka ya kuteketezwa na dhabihu, nao utukufu wa Bwana ukalijaza Hekalu.
Now, when Solomon had made an end of praying, Fire, came down out of the heavens, and consumed the ascending-offering and the sacrifices, —and, the glory of Yahweh, filled the house;
2 Makuhani hawakuweza kuingia ndani ya Hekalu la Bwana kwa sababu utukufu wa Bwana ulilijaza.
so that the priests could not enter into the house of Yahweh, —because the glory of Yahweh filled the house of Yahweh;
3 Waisraeli wote walipoona moto ukishuka na utukufu wa Bwana ukiwa juu ya Hekalu, wakapiga magoti sakafuni wakasujudu nyuso zao mpaka chini, nao wakamwabudu na kumshukuru Bwana wakisema, “Yeye ni mwema; upendo wake unadumu milele.”
and, all the sons of Israel, seeing the descending of the fire and the glory of Yahweh upon the house, then knelt they down with their faces toward the ground, upon the pavement, and bowed themselves in prostration, and gave thanks unto Yahweh, For he is good, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness.
4 Ndipo mfalme na watu wote wakatoa dhabihu mbele za Bwana Mungu.
And, the king and all the people, were offering sacrifice before Yahweh.
5 Naye Mfalme Solomoni akatoa dhabihu ya ngʼombe 22,000 pamoja na kondoo na mbuzi 120,000. Hivyo ndivyo mfalme na watu wote walivyoweka wakfu Hekalu la Mungu.
And King Solomon offered a sacrifice—of oxen, twenty-two thousand, and of sheep, a hundred and twenty thousand, —and so the king and all the people, dedicated the house of God;
6 Makuhani wakasimama kwenye nafasi zao, vivyo hivyo Walawi wakiwa na vyombo vya uimbaji vya Bwana ambavyo Mfalme Daudi alikuwa ametengeneza kwa ajili ya kumsifu Bwana, navyo vilitumika wakati aliposhukuru, akisema, “Upendo wake wadumu milele.” Mkabala na Walawi, makuhani walipiga tarumbeta zao, nao Waisraeli wote walikuwa wamesimama.
while, the priests, over their charges, were standing, the Levites also, with the instruments for the songs of Yahweh, which David the king had made, for giving thanks unto Yahweh, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness, when David offered praise by their means, —and, the priests, kept on blowing trumpets over against them, while, all Israel, were standing.
7 Solomoni akaweka wakfu sehemu ya katikati ya ua uliokuwa mbele ya Hekalu la Bwana na hapo akatoa sadaka za kuteketezwa na mafuta ya sadaka za amani, kwa sababu madhabahu ya shaba aliyokuwa ametengeneza haikutosha kuweka sadaka hizo zote za kuteketezwa, sadaka za nafaka na za mafuta.
And Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of Yahweh, for he offered there the ascending-sacrifices, and the fat portions of the peace-offerings, —because, the altar of bronze which Solomon had made, was not able to receive the ascending-sacrifice and the meal-offering and the fat portions.
8 Hivyo Solomoni akaiadhimisha sikukuu wakati ule kwa muda wa siku saba, na Israeli wote pamoja naye. Walikuwa kusanyiko kubwa sana, watu kutoka Lebo-Hamathi hadi Kijito cha Misri.
And Solomon made a festival—at that time—for seven days, and all Israel with him, an exceeding great convocation, —from the entering in of Hamath, unto the ravine of Egypt.
9 Katika siku ya nane walifanya kusanyiko, kwa kuwa walikuwa wanaadhimisha kuwekwa wakfu kwa madhabahu kwa muda wa siku saba na sikukuu kwa muda wa siku nyingine saba zaidi.
And they made, on the eighth day, a closing feast, —because, the dedication of the altar, they had kept seven days and a festival seven days.
10 Katika siku ya ishirini na tatu ya mwezi wa saba Solomoni akawaaga watu waende nyumbani mwao, wakishangilia na kufurahi mioyoni mwao, kwa wema mwingi Bwana Mungu aliomtendea Daudi na Solomoni na kwa ajili ya watu wake Israeli.
And, on the twenty-third of the seventh month, he sent the people away to their own homes, —rejoicing and glad in heart, over the goodness which Yahweh had performed unto David and unto Solomon, and unto Israel his people.
11 Solomoni alipomaliza kujenga Hekalu la Bwana na jumba la kifalme, naye akiwa amefanikiwa kutenda yale yote aliyokuwa nayo moyoni mwake kufanya katika Hekalu la Bwana na katika jumba lake mwenyewe la kifalme,
Thus Solomon finished the house of Yahweh, and the house of the king, —and, all that had come in upon the heart of Solomon, to do in the house of Yahweh and in his own house, he prosperously executed.
12 Bwana akamtokea Solomoni usiku na kumwambia: “Nimesikia maombi yako nami nimechagua mahali hapa kwa ajili yangu mwenyewe kuwa Hekalu kwa ajili ya dhabihu.
Then appeared Yahweh unto Solomon by night, —and said to him, I have heard thy prayer, and have made choice of this place for myself, as a house of sacrifice: —
13 “Wakati nitakapofunga mbingu ili isiwepo mvua, au nikiamuru nzige kula mazao ya nchi au nikituma tauni miongoni mwa watu wangu,
If I shut up the heavens that there be no rain, or if I lay command on the locust, to devour the land, —or if I send pestilence, amongst my people:
14 kama watu wangu, wanaoitwa kwa Jina langu, watajinyenyekesha na kuomba na kuutafuta uso wangu na kuacha njia zao mbaya, basi nitasikia toka mbinguni na kuwasamehe dhambi yao na nitaiponya nchi yao.
if my people upon whom my Name is called shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will, I myself, hear out of the heavens, and forgive their sin, and heal their land.
15 Sasa macho yangu yatafumbuka na masikio yangu yatasikiliza kwa makini maombi yaombwayo mahali hapa.
Now, mine eyes, shall be open, and, mine ears, attent, —to the prayer of this place.
16 Kwa maana sasa nimechagua na kutakasa Hekalu hili ili kwamba Jina langu lipate kuwa huko milele. Macho yangu na moyo wangu utakuwepo huko daima.
Now, therefore, have I chosen and hallowed this house, that my Name may be there, unto times age-abiding, —and mine eyes and my heart shall he there, all the days.
17 “Kwa habari yako wewe, kama ukienenda mbele zangu kama Daudi baba yako alivyoenenda na kufanya yote nikuamuruyo, nawe ukizishika amri zangu na sheria zangu,
Thou, therefore, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, even to do according to all that I have commanded thee, —and, my statutes and regulations, thou wilt observe,
18 Nitakiimarisha kiti chako cha enzi kama nilivyoagana na Daudi baba yako niliposema, ‘Hutakosa kamwe mtu wa kutawala juu ya Israeli.’
then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom, —according as I covenanted to David thy father, saying—There shall not fail thee a man, to rule over Israel.
19 “Lakini kama ukigeuka na kuyaacha maagizo na amri nilizowapa na kwenda kuitumikia miungu mingine na kuiabudu,
But, if, ye yourselves, shall turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, —and shall go and serve other gods, and bow down to them,
20 ndipo nitakapoingʼoa Israeli kutoka nchi yangu niliyowapa, nami nitalikataa Hekalu hili nililolitakasa kwa ajili ya Jina langu. Nitalifanya kitu cha kudharauliwa na kitu cha kudhihakiwa miongoni mwa watu wote.
then will I root you out from off the soil, which I have given to you, and, this house, which I have hallowed for my Name, will I cast off from before my face, —and will appoint it for a by-word and a mockery, among all the peoples;
21 Ingawa Hekalu hili linavutia sana sasa, wote watakaolipita watashangaa na kusema, ‘Kwa nini Bwana amefanya kitu kama hiki katika nchi hii na kwa Hekalu hili?’
and, this house which hath been renowned, all that pass by near it, shall be astonished, —and say, Wherefore hath Yahweh done, thus and thus, to this land, and to this house?
22 Watu watajibu, ‘Ni kwa sababu wamemwacha Bwana, Mungu wa baba zao, aliyewatoa Misri, nao wamekumbatia miungu mingine, wakaiabudu na kuitumikia, ndiyo sababu ameyaleta maafa haya yote juu yao.’”
And men shall say, Because they forsook Yahweh the God of their fathers, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold of other gods, and bowed down to them, and served them, for this cause, hath he brought upon them, all this calamity.
