1 Manase alikuwa na umri wa miaka kumi na miwili alipoanza kutawala, naye akatawala huko Yerusalemu miaka hamsini na mitano.
Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he was ruling for fifty-five years in Jerusalem.
2 Akafanya maovu machoni pa Bwana, akafuata desturi za machukizo za mataifa ambayo Bwana aliyafukuza mbele ya Waisraeli.
He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, copying the disgusting ways of the nations whom the Lord had sent out of the land before the children of Israel.
3 Akajenga upya mahali pa juu pa kuabudia miungu ambapo Hezekia baba yake, alikuwa amepabomoa, pia akasimamisha madhabahu za Mabaali na nguzo za Maashera. Akalisujudia jeshi lote la angani na kuliabudu.
For he put up again the high places which had been pulled down by his father Hezekiah; and he made altars for the Baals, and pillars of wood, and was a worshipper and servant of all the stars of heaven;
4 Akajenga madhabahu katika Hekalu la Bwana ambamo Bwana alikuwa amesema, “Jina langu litadumu Yerusalemu milele.”
And he made altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, In Jerusalem will my name be for ever.
5 Katika nyua zote mbili za Hekalu la Bwana akajenga madhabahu kwa ajili ya jeshi lote la angani.
And he made altars for all the stars of heaven in the two outer squares of the house of the Lord.
6 Akawatoa wanawe kuwa kafara kwa kuwapitisha katika moto katika Bonde la Ben-Hinomu, akafanya ulozi, uaguzi na uchawi, akataka ushauri kwa wenye pepo wa utambuzi na wenye kuwasiliana na mizimu. Akafanya maovu mengi machoni pa Bwana, akaichochea hasira yake.
More than this, he made his children go through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom; and he made use of secret arts, and signs for reading the future, and unnatural powers, and gave positions to those who had control of spirits and to wonder-workers: he did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, moving him to wrath.
7 Akachukua ile sanamu aliyoichonga na kuiweka katika Hekalu la Mungu ambalo Mungu alikuwa amemwambia Daudi na mwanawe Solomoni, “Katika Hekalu hili na katika Yerusalemu niliouchagua kutoka kabila zote za Israeli, nitaliweka Jina langu milele.
And he put the image he had made in the house of God, the house of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, the town which I have made mine out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
8 Sitaifanya tena miguu ya Waisraeli iondoke tena katika nchi niliyowapa baba zenu, ikiwa watakuwa waangalifu kufanya kila kitu nilichowaamuru kuhusu sheria zote, maagizo na amri zilizotolewa kwa mkono wa Mose.”
And never again will I let the feet of Israel be moved out of the land which I have given to their fathers; if only they will take care to do all my orders, even all the law and the orders and the rules given to them by Moses.
9 Lakini Manase akawaongoza Yuda na watu wa Yerusalemu katika upotovu, kiasi kwamba walifanya maovu mengi kuliko mataifa ambayo Bwana aliwaangamiza mbele ya Waisraeli.
And Manasseh made Judah and the people of Jerusalem go out of the true way, so that they did more evil than those nations whom the Lord gave up to destruction before the children of Israel.
10 Bwana akasema na Manase pamoja na watu wake, lakini hawakumjali.
And the word of the Lord came to Manasseh and his people, but they gave no attention.
11 Hivyo Bwana akaleta juu yao majemadari wa jeshi la mfalme wa Ashuru, ambao walimchukua Manase kwenda kifungoni, wakaweka ndoana katika pua yake, wakamfunga kwa pingu za shaba na kumpeleka Babeli.
So the Lord sent against them the captains of the army of Assyria, who made Manasseh a prisoner and took him away in chains to Babylon.
12 Katika dhiki yake akamsihi Bwana Mungu wake na kujinyenyekeza sana mbele za Mungu wa baba zake.
And crying out to the Lord his God in his trouble, he made himself low before the God of his fathers,
13 Naye alipomwomba, Bwana akaguswa na kule kusihi kwake na akasikiliza kilio chake, kwa hiyo akamrudisha Yerusalemu na kwenye ufalme wake. Ndipo Manase akatambua kwamba Bwana ndiye Mungu.
And made prayer to him; and in answer to his prayer God let him come back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh was certain that the Lord was God.
14 Baadaye akajenga ukuta wa nje wa Mji wa Daudi, magharibi mwa chemchemi ya Gihoni katika bonde, hadi kufikia ingilio la Lango la Samaki na akakizunguka kilima cha Ofeli, pia akaufanya kuwa mrefu zaidi. Akawaweka majemadari katika miji yote ya Yuda iliyokuwa imejengewa ngome.
After this he made an outer wall for the town of David, on the west side of Gihon in the valley, as far as the way into the town by the fish doorway; and he put a very high wall round the Ophel; and he put captains of the army in all the walled towns of Judah.
15 Akaondolea mbali miungu ya kigeni na kuondoa sanamu kutoka Hekalu la Bwana pamoja na madhabahu zote alizozijenga katika kile kilima kilichojengwa Hekalu na katika Yerusalemu, akazitupa nje ya mji.
He took away the strange gods and the image out of the house of the Lord, and all the altars he had put up on the hill of the Lord's house and in Jerusalem, and put them out of the town.
16 Kisha akarudisha madhabahu ya Bwana na kutolea juu yake dhabihu za sadaka za amani pamoja na sadaka za shukrani, naye akawaamuru Yuda wamtumikie Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli.
And he put the altar of the Lord in order, offering peace-offerings and praise-offerings on it, and said that all Judah were to be servants of the Lord, the God of Israel.
17 Lakini hata hivyo watu wakaendelea kutoa dhabihu mahali pa juu pa kuabudia miungu, lakini wakimtolea Bwana Mungu wao peke yake.
However, the people still made offerings in the high places, but only to the Lord their God.
18 Matukio mengine ya utawala wa Manase, maombi yake kwa Mungu wake na maneno aliyoambiwa na waonaji walionena naye kwa jina la Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli, yameandikwa katika kitabu cha kumbukumbu za wafalme wa Israeli.
Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words which the seers said to him in the name of the Lord, the God of Israel, are recorded among the acts of the kings of Israel.
19 Maombi yake, pamoja na jinsi Mungu alivyoguswa na kusihi kwake, pia dhambi zake zote na kukosa kwake uaminifu pamoja na sehemu alizojenga mahali pa juu pa kuabudia miungu, kule kusimamisha nguzo za Ashera na sanamu kabla ya kujinyenyekeza kwake, yote yameandikwa katika kumbukumbu za waonaji.
And the prayer which he made to God, and how God gave him an answer, and all his sin and his wrongdoing, and the places where he made high places and put up pillars of wood and images, before he put away his pride, are recorded in the history of the seers.
20 Manase akalala pamoja na baba zake akazikwa katika jumba lake la kifalme. Naye Amoni mwanawe akawa mfalme baada yake.
So Manasseh went to rest with his fathers, and they put his body to rest in his house, and Amon his son became king in his place.
21 Amoni alikuwa na miaka ishirini na miwili, alipoanza kutawala, naye akatawala huko Yerusalemu kwa miaka miwili.
Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king; and he was ruling for two years in Jerusalem.
22 Akatenda maovu machoni mwa Bwana, kama baba yake Manase alivyofanya. Amoni akaabudu na kutoa dhabihu kwa sanamu zote alizokuwa ametengeneza Manase.
He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as Manasseh his father had done; and Amon made offerings to all the images which his father Manasseh had made, and was their servant.
23 Lakini tofauti na Manase baba yake, hakujinyenyekeza mbele za Bwana, badala yake Amoni aliongeza hatia zaidi na zaidi.
He did not make himself low before the Lord, as his father Manasseh had done, but went on sinning more and more.
24 Watumishi wa Amoni wakafanya fitina juu yake, nao wakamuulia kwake nyumbani.
And his servants made a secret design against him, and put him to death in his house.
25 Kisha watu wa nchi wakawaua wale wote waliokuwa wamefanya hila dhidi ya Mfalme Amoni. Wakamfanya Yosia mwanawe kuwa mfalme mahali pake.
But the people of the land put to death all those who had taken part in the design against King Amon, and made his son Josiah king in his place.
