2 Nyakati 23

1 Katika mwaka wa saba, Yehoyada akaonyesha nguvu zake. Alifanya agano na wakuu wa vikosi vya mamia: yaani Azaria mwana wa Yerohamu, Ishmaeli mwana wa Yehohanani, Azaria mwana wa Obedi, Maaseya mwana wa Adaya, na Elishafati mwana wa Zikri.

And in the year seventh he strengthened himself Jehoiada and he took [the] commanders of the hundreds to Azariah [the] son of Jeroham and to Ishmael [the] son of Jehohanan and to Azariah [the] son of Obed and with Maaseiah [the] son of Adaiah and with Elishaphat [the] son of Zikri with himself in covenant.

2 Wakazunguka katika Yuda yote na kukusanya Walawi na viongozi wa jamaa za Israeli kutoka miji yote. Walipofika Yerusalemu,

And they went around in Judah and they gathered the Levites from all [the] cities of Judah and [the] heads of the fathers of Israel and they came to Jerusalem.

3 kusanyiko lote likafanya agano na mfalme katika Hekalu la Mungu. Yehoyada akawaambia, “Mwana wa mfalme atatawala, kama Bwana alivyoahidi kuhusu wazao wa Daudi.

And it made all the assembly a covenant in [the] house of God with the king and he said to them here! [the] son of the king he will reign just as he spoke Yahweh on [the] sons of David.

4 Basi hivi ndivyo iwapasavyo kufanya: Theluthi yenu makuhani na Walawi ambao mnaingia zamu siku ya Sabato mtalinda milangoni,

This [is] the thing which you will do the third [part] of you [who] come of the sabbath to the priests and to the Levites [will become] [the] gatekeepers of the thresholds.

5 theluthi yenu mtalinda jumba la kifalme, na theluthi nyingine mtalinda Lango la Msingi. Walinzi wengine wote mwe ndani ya nyua za Hekalu la Bwana.

And the third [part] [will be] at [the] house of the king and the third [part] [will be] at [the] gate of the foundation and all the people [will be] in [the] courts of [the] house of Yahweh.

6 Hakuna mtu yeyote ataingia katika Hekalu la Bwana isipokuwa makuhani na Walawi walioko kwenye zamu. Wao wanaweza kuingia kwa sababu ni watakatifu, lakini watu wengine wote itawapasa kulinda kile walichoamriwa na Bwana.

And may not anyone go [the] house of Yahweh that except the priests and those [who] are serving of the Levites they they will go for [are] holiness they and all the people they will keep [the] duty of Yahweh.

7 Walawi watajipanga kumzunguka mfalme, kila mtu akiwa na silaha zake mkononi. Mtu mwingine yeyote aingiaye Hekaluni lazima auawe. Kaeni karibu na mfalme popote aendapo.”

And they will surround the Levites the king all around each man and weapons his in hand his and the [one who] comes into the house he will be put to death and be with the king when comes he and when goes out he.

8 Walawi na watu wote wa Yuda wakafanya kama vile kuhani Yehoyada aliagiza. Kila mmoja akawachukua watu wake, wale waliokuwa wakiingia zamu siku ya Sabato na wale waliokuwa wakienda mapumziko, kwa sababu kuhani Yehoyada hakuruhusu kikosi chochote kiondoke.

And they did the Levites and all Judah according to all that he had commanded Jehoiada the priest and they took each men his [who] were coming of the sabbath with [who] were going out of the sabbath for not he dismissed Jehoiada the priest the divisions.

9 Kisha akawapa wakuu wa vikosi vya mamia mikuki na ngao kubwa na ndogo zilizokuwa za Mfalme Daudi, zilizokuwa ndani ya Hekalu la Mungu.

And he gave Jehoiada the priest to [the] commanders of the hundreds the spears and the shields and the shields which [had belonged] to the king David which [were] [the] house of God.

10 Akawapanga walinzi wote kumzunguka mfalme, kila mmoja akiwa na silaha yake mkononi mwake, karibu na madhabahu na Hekalu, kuanzia upande wa kusini hadi upande wa kaskazini mwa Hekalu.

And he stationed all the people and each - weapon his [was] in hand his from [the] side of the house south to [the] side of the house north to the altar and to the house at the king all around.

11 Yehoyada na wanawe wakamtoa Yoashi mwana wa mfalme nje na kumvika taji. Wakampa nakala ya agano na kumtangaza kuwa mfalme. Wakamtia mafuta na kupaza sauti, wakisema, “Mfalme aishi maisha marefu!”

And they brought out [the] son of the king and they put on him the crown and the testimony and they made king him and they anointed him Jehoiada and sons his and they said may he live the king.

12 Athalia aliposikia kelele za watu wakikimbia na kumsifu mfalme, akawaendea watu katika Hekalu la Bwana.

And she heard Athaliah [the] sound of the people who were running and who were praising the king and she came to the people [the] house of Yahweh.

13 Athalia akaangalia, tazama alikuwepo mfalme akiwa amesimama karibu na nguzo yake kwenye ingilio. Maafisa na wapiga tarumbeta walikuwa kando ya mfalme, nao watu wote wa nchi walikuwa wanashangilia na kupiga tarumbeta na waimbaji wakiwa na vyombo vya uimbaji, walikuwa wakiongoza nyimbo za sifa. Ndipo Athalia akararua mavazi yake na kupiga kelele, akisema, “Uhaini! Uhaini!”

And she saw and there! the king [was] standing at pillar his at the entrance and the officials and the trumpets [were] with the king and all [the] people of the land [was] joyful and [was] giving a blast on trumpets and the singers with [the] instruments of song [were] leading to praise and she tore Athaliah clothes her and she said treason treason.

14 Kuhani Yehoyada akawatuma majemadari wa vikosi vya mamia, waliokuwa viongozi wa jeshi, na kuwaambia: “Mleteni nje kati ya safu, na mkamuue kwa upanga yeyote anayemfuata.” Kwa kuwa kuhani alikuwa amesema, “Msimuulie ndani ya Hekalu la Bwana.”

And he sent out Jehoiada the priest [the] commanders of the hundreds - [the] officers of the army and he said to them bring out her to from between the ranks and the [one who] goes after her he will be put to death with the sword for he had said the priest not you must put to death her [the] house of Yahweh.

15 Kwa hiyo wakamkamata alipofika kwenye ingilio la Lango la Farasi katika viwanja vya jumba la mfalme wakamuulia hapo.

And they put to her hands and she went to [the] entrance of [the] gate of the horses [the] house of the king and they put to death her there.

16 Kisha Yehoyada akafanya agano kwamba yeye na watu wote na mfalme watakuwa watu wa Bwana.

And he made Jehoiada a covenant between himself and between all the people and between the king to become a people of Yahweh.

17 Kisha watu wote wakaenda kwenye hekalu la Baali na kulibomoa. Wakavunjavunja madhabahu pamoja na sanamu na kumuua Matani kuhani wa Baali mbele ya hayo madhabahu.

And they went all the people [the] house of Baal and they pulled down it and altars its and images its they broke and Mattan [the] priest of Baal they killed before the altars.

18 Kisha Yehoyada akaweka uangalizi wa Hekalu la Bwana mikononi mwa makuhani, waliokuwa Walawi, ambao Mfalme Daudi alikuwa amewagawa ili wahudumu hekaluni kwa ajili ya kutoa sadaka za kuteketezwa za Bwana kama ilivyoandikwa katika Sheria ya Mose, kwa kushangilia na kuimba kama Daudi alivyokuwa ameagiza.

And he put Jehoiada [the] oversight of [the] house of Yahweh in [the] hand of the priests the Levites whom he had assigned David over [the] house of Yahweh to offer up [the] burnt offerings of Yahweh according to [what] is written in [the] law of Moses with joy and with song on [the] hands of David.

19 Pia akawaweka mabawabu kwenye malango ya Hekalu la Bwana ili kwamba kwa vyovyote asije akaingia mtu yeyote aliye najisi.

And he stationed the gatekeepers at [the] gates of [the] house of Yahweh and not he came a [person] unclean to any matter.

20 Akawachukua majemadari wa mamia, watu waheshimiwa, viongozi wa watu pamoja na watu wote wa nchi na kumteremsha mfalme kutoka Hekalu la Bwana. Wakaingia kwenye jumba la mfalme kupitia Lango la Juu na kumkalisha mfalme kwenye kiti cha enzi,

And he took [the] commanders of the hundreds and the nobles and the rulers over the people and - all [the] people of the land and he brought down the king from [the] house of Yahweh and they came in [the] middle of [the] gate upper [the] house of the king and they made sit the king on [the] throne of royalty.

21 nao watu wote wa nchi wakafurahi. Mji ukatulia kwa sababu Athalia alikuwa ameuawa kwa upanga.

And they rejoiced all [the] people of the land and the city it was at peace and Athaliah they had put to death with the sword.
