1 Kwa hiyo, wekeni mbali nanyi uovu wote na udanganyifu wote, unafiki, wivu na masingizio ya kila namna.
Having put aside therefore all malice and all deceit and (hypocrisies *NK(O)*) and envies and all evil speakings
2 Kama watoto wachanga, waliozaliwa sasa, yatamanini maziwa ya kiroho yasiyochanganywa na kitu kingine chochote, ili kwa hayo mpate kukua katika wokovu,
like newborn babies reasonable pure milk do crave so that by it you may grow up (in respect to salvation, *NO*)
3 ikiwa kweli mmeonja ya kwamba Bwana ni mwema.
(if *N(k)O*) you have tasted that [is] good the Lord.
4 Mnapokuja kwake, yeye aliye Jiwe lililo hai, lililokataliwa na wanadamu bali kwa Mungu ni teule na la thamani kwake,
To whom coming a stone living, by men indeed rejected in the sight of however God chosen [and] precious,
5 ninyi nanyi, kama mawe yaliyo hai, mnajengwa kuwa nyumba ya kiroho, ili mpate kuwa ukuhani mtakatifu, mkitoa dhabihu za kiroho zinazokubaliwa na Mungu kwa njia ya Yesu Kristo.
also you yourselves as stones living are being built up as a house spiritual (into *no*) a priesthood holy to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable (*NK*) to God through Jesus Christ.
6 Kwa maana imeandikwa katika Maandiko: “Tazama, naweka katika Sayuni, jiwe la pembeni teule lenye thamani, na yeyote atakayemwamini hataaibika kamwe.”
(Therefore *N(k)O*) it is contained in (*k*) Scripture: Behold I lay in Zion a stone cornerstone a chosen precious, and the [one] who is believing on Him certainly not may be put to shame.
7 Kwenu ninyi mnaoamini, jiwe hili ni la thamani. Lakini kwao wasioamini, “Jiwe walilolikataa waashi limekuwa jiwe kuu la pembeni,”
To you therefore [is] the preciousness of those believing; ([for those] disbelieving *N(K)O*) however ([the] stone *N(k)O*) which rejected those building, this has become into [the] head of [the] corner
8 tena, “Jiwe lenye kuwafanya watu wajikwae, na mwamba wa kuwaangusha.” Wanajikwaa kwa sababu hawakulitii lile neno, kama walivyowekewa tangu zamani.
and A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, [They] stumble at on the word being disobedient, to which also they were appointed;
9 Lakini ninyi ni taifa teule, ukuhani wa kifalme, taifa takatifu, watu walio milki ya Mungu, mlioitwa ili kutangaza sifa zake yeye aliyewaita kutoka gizani mkaingie katika nuru yake ya ajabu.
You yourselves however [are] a race chosen, a royal priesthood, a nation holy, a people for [His] possession, so that the excellencies you may proclaim of the [One] out of darkness you having called to the marvelous of Him light;
10 Mwanzo ninyi mlikuwa si taifa, lakini sasa ninyi ni taifa la Mungu. Mwanzo mlikuwa hamjapata rehema, lakini sasa mmepata rehema.
who once [were] not a people, now however [the] people of God, those [who] not received mercy, now however having received mercy.
11 Wapenzi, ninawasihi, mkiwa kama wageni na wapitaji hapa ulimwenguni, epukeni tamaa mbaya za mwili ambazo hupigana vita na roho zenu.
Beloved, I exhort [you] as aliens and sojourners to abstain from fleshly desires, which war against the soul;
12 Kuweni na mwenendo mzuri mbele ya watu wasiomjua Mungu, ili kama wanawasingizia kuwa watenda mabaya, wayaone matendo yenu mema nao wamtukuze Mungu siku atakapokuja kwetu.
the conduct of you among the Gentiles keeping honorable, so that wherein which they speak against you as evildoers, through the good deeds (having witnessed *N(k)O*) they may glorify God in [the] day of visitation.
13 Kwa ajili ya Bwana, tiini kila mamlaka iliyowekwa na wanadamu: Kwa mfalme kwani ndiye aliye na mamlaka ya juu zaidi,
do be subjected (therefore *K*) to every human institution for the sake of the Lord; whether to [the] king as being supreme;
14 au kwa maafisa aliowaweka, kwa kuwa mfalme amewatuma ili kuwaadhibu wale wanaokosa, na kuwapongeza wale watendao mema.
or to governors as through him being sent for vengeance (indeed *k*) to evildoers, praise however to well-doers;
15 Kwa maana ni mapenzi ya Mungu kwamba kwa kutenda mema mnyamazishe maneno ya kijinga ya watu wapumbavu.
because this is the will of God doing good to put to silence the of foolish men ignorance;
16 Ishini kama watu huru, lakini msitumie uhuru wenu kama kisingizio cha kutenda uovu, bali ishini kama watumishi wa Mungu.
as free and not as a cover-up having for evil the freedom, but as of God servants.
17 Mheshimuni kila mtu ipasavyo: Wapendeni jamaa ya ndugu waumini, mcheni Mungu, mpeni heshima mfalme.
Everyone do honor, The brotherhood (do love, *NK(o)*) God do fear, the king do honor.
18 Ninyi watumwa, watiini mabwana zenu kwa heshima yote, si wale mabwana walio wema na wapole peke yao, bali pia wale walio wakali.
you who [are] Servants be subject with all fear to masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the unreasonable.
19 Kwa maana ni jambo la sifa kama mtu akivumilia anapoteswa kwa uonevu kwa ajili ya Mungu.
This for [is] acceptable, if for sake of conscience toward God endures anyone griefs suffering unjustly.
20 Kwani ni faida gani kwa mtu kustahimili anapopigwa kwa sababu ya makosa yake? Lakini kama mkiteswa kwa sababu ya kutenda mema, nanyi mkastahimili, hili ni jambo la kusifiwa mbele za Mungu.
What kind of for credit [is it] if sinning and being struck you will endure? But if doing good and suffering you will endure, this [is] commendable before God.
21 Ninyi mliitwa kwa ajili ya haya, kwa sababu Kristo naye aliteswa kwa ajili yenu, akiwaachia kielelezo, ili mzifuate nyayo zake.
To this hereunto for you have been called, because also Christ suffered for (for you, *N(K)O*) you leaving an example that you may follow after the steps of Him:
22 “Yeye hakutenda dhambi, wala hila haikuonekana kinywani mwake.”
Who sin not committed, neither was found trickery in the mouth of Him,
23 Yeye alipotukanwa, hakurudisha matukano; alipoteswa, hakutishia, bali alijikabidhi kwa yeye ahukumuye kwa haki.
Who being reviled not was not reviling back suffering not was threatening He was delivering [Himself] however to the [One] judging justly;
24 Yeye mwenyewe alizichukua dhambi zetu katika mwili wake juu ya mti, ili tufe kwa mambo ya dhambi, bali tupate kuishi katika haki. Kwa kupigwa kwake, ninyi mmeponywa.
Who the sins of us Himself bore in the body of Him on the tree so that to sins having been dead to righteousness we may live; Of whom by the wounds (of him *k*) you have been healed.
25 Kwa maana mlikuwa mmepotea kama kondoo, lakini sasa mmerudi kwa Mchungaji na Mwangalizi wa roho zenu.
You were for like sheep (going astray *N(k)O*) but you have returned now to the Shepherd and Overseer of the souls of you.
