1 Wafalme 4
1 Basi Mfalme Solomoni akatawala Israeli yote.
And king Solomon is king over all Israel,
2 Hawa ndio waliokuwa maafisa wake wakuu: Kuhani: Azaria mwana wa Sadoki;
and these [are] the heads whom he hath: Azariah son of Zadok [is] the priest;
3 Elihorefu na Ahiya, wana wa Shisha: waandishi; Yehoshafati mwana wa Ahiludi: karani;
Elihoreph and Ahiah sons of Shisha [are] scribes; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] remembrancer;
4 Benaya mwana wa Yehoyada: jemadari mkuu wa jeshi; Sadoki na Abiathari: makuhani;
and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is] over the host; and Zadok and Abiathar [are] priests;
5 Azaria mwana wa Nathani: kiongozi wa maafisa wa wilaya; Zabudi mwana wa Nathani: kuhani na mshauri binafsi wa mfalme;
and Azariah son of Nathan [is] over the officers; and Zabud son of Nathan [is] minister, friend of the king;
6 Ahishari: msimamizi wa jumba la kifalme; Adoniramu mwana wa Abda: msimamizi wa kazi za kulazimisha.
And Ahishar [is] over the household, and Adoniram son of Abda [is] over the tribute.
7 Pia Solomoni alikuwa na watawala kumi na wawili wa wilaya katika Israeli yote, walioleta mahitaji kwa mfalme na kwa watu wa nyumbani kwa mfalme. Kila mmoja alitoa chakula kwa mwezi mmoja katika mwaka.
And Solomon hath twelve officers over all Israel, and they have sustained the king and his household — a month in the year is on each one for sustenance;
8 Majina yao ni haya: Ben-Huri: katika nchi ya vilima ya Efraimu;
and these [are] their names: Ben-Hur in the hill-country of Ephraim;
9 Ben-Dekeri: katika Makasi, Shaalbimu, Beth-Shemeshi na Elon-Bethhanani;
Ben-Dekar in Makaz, and Shaalbim, and Beth-Shemesh, and Elon-Beth-Hanan.
10 Ben-Hesedi: katika Arubothi (Soko na nchi yote ya Heferi zilikuwa zake);
Ben-Hesed [is] in Aruboth, hath Sochoh and all the land of Hepher;
11 Ben-Abinadabu: katika Nafoth-Dori (alimwoa Tafathi binti Solomoni);
Ben-Abinadab [hath] all the elevation of Dor, Taphath daughter of Solomon became his wife.
12 Baana mwana wa Ahiludi: katika Taanaki na Megido, na katika Beth-Shani yote karibu na Sarethani chini ya Yezreeli, kuanzia Beth-Shani hadi Abel-Mehola kupita hadi Yokmeamu;
Baana Ben-Ahilud [hath] Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-Shean, which [is] by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Beth-Shean unto Abel-Meholah, unto beyond Jokneam.
13 Ben-Geberi: katika Ramoth-Gileadi (makao ya Yairi mwana wa Manase katika Gileadi ilikuwa miji yake, pamoja na wilaya ya Argobu katika Bashani na miji yake mikubwa sitini yenye kuzungukwa na kuta zenye makomeo ya shaba);
Ben-Geber, in Ramoth-Gilead, hath the small towns of Jair son of Manasseh, which [are] in Gilead; he hath a portion of Argob that [is] in Bashan, sixty great cities [with] wall and brazen bar.
14 Ahinadabu mwana wa Ido: katika Mahanaimu;
Ahinadab son of Iddo [hath] Mahanaim.
15 Ahimaasi: katika Naftali (alikuwa amemwoa Basemathi binti Solomoni);
Ahimaaz [is] in Naphtali; he also hath taken Basemath daughter of Solomon for a wife.
16 Baana mwana wa Hushai: katika Asheri na katika Bealothi;
Baanah Ben-Hushai [is] in Asher, and in Aloth.
17 Yehoshafati mwana wa Parua: katika Isakari;
Jehoshaphat Ben-Paruah [is] in Issachar.
18 Shimei mwana wa Ela: katika Benyamini;
Shimei Ben-Elah [is] in Benjamin.
19 Geberi mwana wa Uri: katika Gileadi (nchi ya Sihoni mfalme wa Waamori na nchi ya Ogu mfalme wa Bashani). Naye alikuwa ndiye mtawala pekee katika eneo hilo.
Geber Ben-Uri [is] in the land of Gilead, the land of Sihon king of the Amorite, and of Og king of Bashan: and one officer who [is] in the land.
20 Watu wa Yuda na Israeli walikuwa wengi kama mchanga wa pwani; walikula, wakanywa na kufurahi.
Judah and Israel [are] many, as the sand that [is] by the sea for multitude, eating and drinking and rejoicing.
21 Mfalme Solomoni akatawala katika falme zote kuanzia Mto Frati hadi nchi ya Wafilisti, hadi kwenye mpaka wa Misri. Nchi hizi zilileta ushuru na zilikuwa chini ya Solomoni, siku zote za maisha yake.
And Solomon hath been ruling over all the kingdoms, from the River [to] the land of the Philistines and unto the border of Egypt: they are bringing nigh a present, and serving Solomon, all days of his life.
22 Mahitaji ya Solomoni ya kila siku yalikuwa kori thelathini za unga laini, kori sitini za unga wa kawaida.
And the provision of Solomon for one day is thirty cors of flour, and sixty cors of meal;
23 Ngʼombe kumi wa zizini, ngʼombe ishirini wa malisho, kondoo na mbuzi mia moja, pamoja na ayala, paa, kulungu na kuku wazuri sana.
ten fat oxen, and twenty feeding oxen, and a hundred sheep, apart from hart, and roe, and fallow-deer, and fatted beasts of the stalls,
24 Kwa kuwa Solomoni alitawala falme zote magharibi ya mto, kuanzia Tifsa hadi Gaza, naye akawa na amani pande zote.
for he is ruling over all beyond the river, from Tiphsah and unto Gaza, over all the kings beyond the river, and he hath peace from all his servants round about.
25 Wakati wa maisha ya Solomoni Yuda na Israeli, kuanzia Dani mpaka Beer-Sheba, wakaishi salama kila mtu chini ya mzabibu wake na chini ya mtini wake.
And Judah dwelleth — and Israel — in confidence, each under his vine, and under his fig-tree, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, all the days of Solomon.
26 Solomoni alikuwa na mabanda 4,000 ya magari ya vita, na farasi 12,000.
And Solomon hath forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27 Maafisa wa eneo hilo, kila mmoja katika mwezi wake, walileta mahitaji kwa ajili ya Mfalme Solomoni na wote waliokula mezani mwa mfalme. Walihakikisha kuwa hakuna chochote kilichopungua.
And these officers have sustained king Solomon and every one drawing near unto the table of king Solomon, each [in] his month; they let nothing be lacking.
28 Pia walileta sehemu walizopangiwa za shayiri na majani kwa ajili ya farasi wavutao magari na farasi wengine mahali palipostahili.
And the barley and the straw, for horses and for dromedaries, they bring in unto the place where they are, each according to his ordinance.
29 Mungu akampa Solomoni hekima na akili kubwa, pia ufahamu mpana usiopimika kama mchanga ulioko pwani ya bahari.
And God giveth wisdom to Solomon, and understanding, very much, and breadth of heart, as the sand that [is] on the edge of the sea;
30 Hekima ya Solomoni ilikuwa kubwa kuliko hekima ya watu wote wa Mashariki na kubwa kuliko hekima yote ya Misri.
and the wisdom of Solomon is greater than the wisdom of any of the sons of the east, and than all the wisdom of Egypt;
31 Alikuwa na hekima kuliko kila mwandishi, akiwemo Ethani Mwezrahi: kuliko Hemani, Kalkoli na Darda, wana wa Maholi. Umaarufu wake ukaenea kwa mataifa yote yaliyomzunguka.
and he is wiser than all men, than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol, and his name is in all the nations round about.
32 Akanena mithali 3,000 na nyimbo zake zilikuwa 1,005.
And he speaketh three thousand similes, and his songs [are] five, and the chief one;
33 Akaelezea maisha ya mimea kuanzia mwerezi wa Lebanoni hadi hisopo iotayo ukutani. Pia akafundisha kuhusu wanyama na ndege, wanyama wenye damu baridi, wakiwemo samaki.
and he speaketh concerning the trees, from the cedar that [is] in Lebanon, even unto the hyssop that is coming out in the wall, and he speaketh concerning the cattle, and concerning the fowl, and concerning the creeping things, and concerning the fishes,
34 Watu wa mataifa yote wakaja kusikiliza hekima ya Solomoni, waliotumwa na wafalme wote wa ulimwengu, waliokuwa wamesikia juu ya hekima yake.
and there come out of all the peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth who have heard of his wisdom.
