1 Yohana 5

1 Kila mtu anayeamini kwamba Yesu ndiye Kristo amezaliwa na Mungu, na yeyote ampendaye Baba humpenda pia mtoto aliyezaliwa naye.

Everyone who is believing that Jesus is the Christ has been begotten of God, and everyone who is loving Him who begot, also loves him who is begotten of Him.

2 Hivi ndivyo tunavyojua kwamba tunawapenda watoto wa Mungu, kwa kumpenda Mungu na kuzitii amri zake.

In this we know that we love the children of God, when we may love God and may keep His commands;

3 Huku ndiko kumpenda Mungu, yaani, kuzitii amri zake. Nazo amri zake si nzito.

for this is the love of God, that we may keep His commands, and His commands are not burdensome;

4 Kwa maana kila aliyezaliwa na Mungu huushinda ulimwengu. Huku ndiko kushinda kuushindako ulimwengu, yaani, hiyo imani yetu.

because everyone who is begotten of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that overcame the world—our faith.

5 Ni nani yule aushindaye ulimwengu? Ni yule tu aaminiye kwamba Yesu ni Mwana wa Mungu.

Who is he who is overcoming the world, if not he who is believing that Jesus is the Son of God?

6 Huyu ndiye alikuja kwa maji na damu, yaani, Yesu Kristo. Hakuja kwa maji peke yake, bali kwa maji na damu. Naye Roho ndiye ashuhudiaye, kwa sababu Roho ndiye kweli.

This One is He who came through water and blood—Jesus the Christ, not in water only, but in the water and the blood; and the Spirit is the [One] testifying, because the Spirit is the truth,

7 Kwa maana wako watatu washuhudiao[ mbinguni: hao ni Baba, Neno na Roho Mtakatifu. Hawa watatu ni umoja.

because [there] are three who are testifying [[in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one;

8 Pia wako mashahidi watatu duniani]: Roho, Maji na Damu; hawa watatu wanakubaliana katika umoja.

and [there] are three who are testifying in the earth]]: the Spirit, and the water, and the blood, and the three are into the one.

9 Kama tunaukubali ushuhuda wa wanadamu, basi ushuhuda wa Mungu ni mkuu zaidi, kwa kuwa huu ndio ushuhuda wa Mungu kwamba amemshuhudia Mwanawe.

If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, because this is the testimony of God that He has testified concerning His Son.

10 Kila mtu amwaminiye Mwana wa Mungu anao huu ushuhuda moyoni mwake. Kila mtu asiyemwamini Mungu amemfanya yeye kuwa mwongo, kwa sababu hakuamini ushuhuda Mungu alioutoa kuhusu Mwanawe.

He who is believing in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; he who is not believing God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning His Son;

11 Huu ndio ushuhuda: kwamba Mungu ametupa uzima wa milele, nao huo uzima umo katika Mwanawe. (aiōnios g166)

and this is the testimony, that God gave continuous life to us, and this life is in His Son; (aiōnios g166)

12 Aliye naye Mwana wa Mungu anao uzima, yeye asiye na Mwana wa Mungu hana uzima.

he who is having the Son has life; he who is not having the Son of God does not have life.

13 Nawaandikia mambo haya ninyi mnaoliamini Jina la Mwana wa Mungu ili mpate kujua ya kuwa mnao uzima wa milele. (aiōnios g166)

I wrote these things to you who are believing in the Name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have continuous life, and that you may believe in the Name of the Son of God. (aiōnios g166)

14 Huu ndio ujasiri tulio nao tunapomkaribia Mungu, kwamba kama tukiomba kitu sawasawa na mapenzi yake, atusikia.

And this is the boldness that we have toward Him, that if we may ask anything according to His will, He hears us,

15 Nasi kama tunajua atusikia, lolote tuombalo, tunajua ya kwamba tumekwisha kupata zile haja tulizomwomba.

and if we have known that He hears us, whatever we may ask, we have known that we have the requests that we have requested from Him.

16 Kama mtu akimwona ndugu yake akitenda dhambi isiyo ya mauti, inampasa aombe, naye Mungu atampa uzima mtu huyo. Ninamaanisha wale ambao dhambi yao si ya mauti. Iko dhambi ya mauti, sisemi kwamba utaomba kwa ajili ya hiyo.

If anyone may see his brother sinning a sin [that is] not to death, he will ask, and He will give life to him—to those not sinning to death; there is sin to death—I do not say that he may ask concerning it;

17 Jambo lolote lisilo la haki ni dhambi, lakini iko dhambi isiyo ya mauti.

all unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin [that is] not to death.

18 Tunajua ya kuwa yeye aliyezaliwa na Mungu hatendi dhambi, bali aliyezaliwa na Mungu hujilinda, wala yule mwovu hawezi kumdhuru.

We have known that everyone who has been begotten of God does not sin, but He who was begotten of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him;

19 Sisi twajua kuwa tu watoto wa Mungu na ya kwamba ulimwengu wote uko chini ya utawala wa yule mwovu.

we have known that we are of God, and the whole world lies [under the power] of the evil [one];

20 Nasi pia twajua ya kwamba Mwana wa Mungu amekuja, naye ametupa sisi ufahamu ili tupate kumjua yeye aliye Kweli. Nasi tumo ndani yake yeye aliye Kweli, yaani, ndani ya Yesu Kristo Mwanawe. Yeye ndiye Mungu wa kweli na uzima wa milele. (aiōnios g166)

but we have known that the Son of God has come, and has given us a mind that we may know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ; this One is the true God and the continuous Life! (aiōnios g166)

21 Watoto wapendwa, jilindeni nafsi zenu kutokana na sanamu. Amen.

Little children, guard yourselves from idols! Amen.
