1 Wakorintho 1
1 Paulo, niliyeitwa kwa mapenzi ya Mungu kuwa mtume wa Kristo Yesu, na Sosthene ndugu yetu.
PAULOS the called, and the apostle of Jeshu Meshiha by the will of Aloha, and Sosthenis a brother,
2 Kwa kanisa la Mungu lililoko Korintho, kwa wale waliotakaswa katika Kristo Yesu na walioitwa kuwa watakatifu, pamoja na wale wote ambao kila mahali wanaliitia Jina la Kristo Yesu Bwana wetu, aliye Bwana wao na wetu pia:
to the church of Aloha which is in Kurinthos, the called, and the saints who in Jeshu Meshiha are sanctified; and to all them who invoke the name of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha in every place, theirs and ours:
3 Neema na amani itokayo kwa Mungu Baba yetu na kwa Bwana Yesu Kristo iwe nanyi.
Grace be with you and peace from Aloha our Father, and from our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
4 Ninamshukuru Mungu siku zote kwa ajili yenu kwa sababu ya neema yake mliyopewa katika Kristo Yesu.
I give thanks to Aloha at all times on your behalf for the grace of Aloha which is given to you through Jeshu Meshiha,
5 Kwa kuwa katika Kristo mmetajirishwa kwa kila hali, katika kusema kwenu na katika maarifa yenu yote,
because in every thing you are enriched in him in all utterance and in all knowledge,
6 kwa sababu ushuhuda wetu kumhusu Kristo ulithibitishwa ndani yenu.
according to the testimony of the Meshiha, which is confirmed in you.
7 Kwa hiyo hamkupungukiwa na karama yoyote ya kiroho wakati mnangoja kwa shauku kudhihirishwa kwa Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo.
That you may not be deficient in one of his gifts, but be expecting the revelation of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha,
8 Atawafanya imara mpaka mwisho, ili msiwe na hatia siku ile ya Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo.
who will confirm you to the end, that you may be without fault in the day of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
9 Mungu ambaye mmeitwa naye ili mwe na ushirika na Mwanawe Yesu Kristo, Bwana wetu ni mwaminifu.
Faithful is Aloha, by whom you have been called to the fellowship of his Son Jeshu Meshiha our Lord.
10 Nawasihi ndugu zangu, katika Jina la Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo, kwamba mpatane nia zenu ninyi kwa ninyi, ili pasiwepo na matengano katikati yenu na kwamba mwe na umoja kikamilifu katika nia na katika kusudi.
But I beseech of you, my brethren, in the name of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, that you have all one doctrine, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfect in one mind and one sentiment.
11 Ndugu zangu, nimepata habari kutoka kwa baadhi ya watu wa nyumbani mwa Kloe kwamba kuna magomvi katikati yenu.
For they of the house of Kloë have sent to me concerning you, my brethren, that there are contentions among you.
12 Maana yangu ni kwamba: Mmoja wenu husema, “Mimi ni wa Paulo”; mwingine, “Mimi ni wa Apolo”; mwingine, “Mimi ni wa Kefa,” na mwingine, “Mimi ni wa Kristo.”
For this I say, that there are some of you who say, I am of Paulos; and some who say, I am of Apollo; and some who say, I am of Kipha; and some who say, I am of the Meshiha!
13 Je, Kristo amegawanyika? Je, Paulo ndiye alisulubishwa kwa ajili yenu? Je, mlibatizwa kwa jina la Paulo?
Is the Meshiha divided? Or was Paulos crucified for you? Or in the name of Paulos were you baptized?
14 Nashukuru kwamba sikumbatiza mtu yeyote isipokuwa Krispo na Gayo.
I thank Aloha that no man of you I have baptized, but only Krispos and Gaios;
15 Kwa hiyo hakuna mtu yeyote anayeweza kusema kwamba alibatizwa kwa jina langu.
lest any man should say, that in my name I have baptized.
16 (Naam, niliwabatiza pia watu wa nyumbani mwa Stefana. Lakini zaidi ya hao sijui kama nilimbatiza mtu mwingine yeyote.)
But I baptized also the house of Estepana; beyond (these) I know not that any other man I have baptized.
17 Kwa maana Kristo hakunituma ili kubatiza bali kuhubiri Injili; sio kwa maneno ya hekima ya kibinadamu, ili msalaba wa Kristo usije ukakosa nguvu yake.
For the Meshiha sent me not to baptize, but to preach; not with the wisdom of words, lest the cross of the Meshiha should be nullified.
18 Kwa maana ujumbe wa msalaba kwa wale wanaopotea ni upuzi, lakini kwetu sisi tunaookolewa ni nguvu ya Mungu.
FOR the doctrine of the cross to those who perish is foolishness, but to us who are saved it is the power of Aloha.
19 Kwa maana imeandikwa: “Nitaiharibu hekima ya wenye hekima, na kubatilisha akili ya wenye akili.”
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And I will take away the understanding of the prudent.
20 Yuko wapi mwenye hekima? Yuko wapi msomi? Yuko wapi mwanafalsafa wa nyakati hizi? Je, Mungu hakufanya hekima ya ulimwengu huu kuwa upumbavu? (aiōn g165)
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Or where is the disputer of this world? Hath not. Aloha made foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)
21 Kwa kuwa katika hekima ya Mungu, ulimwengu kwa hekima yake haukumjua yeye, ilimpendeza Mungu kuwaokoa wale walioamini kwa upuzi wa lile neno lililohubiriwa.
For inasmuch as in the wisdom of Aloha, the world by wisdom hath not known Aloha, it hath pleased Aloha, by the foolishness of preaching, to save them who believe.
22 Wayahudi wanadai ishara za miujiza na Wayunani wanatafuta hekima.
For the Jihudoyee demand signs, and the Aramoyee require wisdom;
23 Lakini sisi tunamhubiri Kristo aliyesulubiwa: yeye kwa Wayahudi ni kikwazo na kwa Wayunani ni upuzi.
but we preach the Meshiha crucified, a scandal to the Jihudoyee, and to the Aramoyee foolishness;
24 Lakini kwa wale ambao Mungu amewaita, Wayahudi na pia Wayunani, Kristo ndiye nguvu ya Mungu na pia hekima ya Mungu.
but to them who are called, Jihudoyee and Aramoyee, the Meshiha is the power of Aloha, and the wisdom of Aloha.
25 Kwa maana upumbavu wa Mungu una hekima zaidi kuliko hekima ya wanadamu, nao udhaifu wa Mungu una nguvu kuliko nguvu ya wanadamu.
For the foolishness of Aloha is wiser than men, and the weakness of Aloha is stronger than men.
26 Ndugu zangu, kumbukeni mlivyokuwa mlipoitwa. Kwa kipimo cha kibinadamu, si wengi wenu mliokuwa na hekima. Si wengi mliokuwa na ushawishi, si wengi mliozaliwa katika jamaa zenye vyeo.
For you see also your calling, my brethren, that not many among you are wise after the flesh, and not many among you are powerful, and not many among you are of noble birth;
27 Lakini Mungu alivichagua vitu vipumbavu vya ulimwengu ili awaaibishe wenye hekima, Mungu alivichagua vitu dhaifu vya ulimwengu ili awaaibishe wenye nguvu.
but Aloha hath chosen the simple of the world, to shame the wise, and he hath chosen the weak of the world, to shame the mighty,
28 Alivichagua vitu vya chini na vinavyodharauliwa vya dunia hii, vitu ambavyo haviko, ili avibatilishe vile vilivyoko,
and he hath chosen those of low birth in the world, and the outcasts, and those who are nothing, to bring to nothing those who are;
29 ili mtu yeyote asijisifu mbele zake.
that no flesh may boast before him.
30 Bali kwa yeye ninyi mmepata kuwa katika Kristo Yesu, aliyefanyika kwetu hekima itokayo kwa Mungu, yaani haki, na utakatifu na ukombozi.
But you are of him in Jeshu Meshiha, who hath been made unto us wisdom, of Aloha, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption;
31 Hivyo, kama ilivyoandikwa: “Yeye ajisifuye na ajisifu katika Bwana.”
according as it is written, He who boasteth, in the Lord let him boast.
