1 Wana wa Lawi walikuwa: Gershoni, Kohathi na Merari.
The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kehath, and Merari.
2 Wana wa Kohathi walikuwa: Amramu, Ishari, Hebroni na Uzieli.
And the sons of Kehath: 'Amram, Yizhar, and Chebron, and 'Uzziel.
3 Amramu alikuwa na wana: Aroni, Mose, na Miriamu. Aroni alikuwa na wana: Nadabu, Abihu, Eleazari na Ithamari.
And the children of 'Amram: Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron: Nadab, and Abihu, El'azar, and Ithamar.
4 Eleazari akamzaa Finehasi, Finehasi akamzaa Abishua,
El'azar begat Phinehas, Phinehas begat Abishua',
5 Abishua akamzaa Buki, Buki akamzaa Uzi,
And Abishua' begat Bukki, and Bukki begat 'Uzzi,
6 Uzi akamzaa Zerahia, Zerahia akamzaa Merayothi,
And 'Uzzi begat Zerachyah, and Zerachyah begat Merayoth,
7 Merayothi akamzaa Amaria, Amaria akamzaa Ahitubu,
Merayoth begat Amaryah, and Amaryah begat Achitub,
8 Ahitubu akamzaa Sadoki, Sadoki akamzaa Ahimaasi,
And Achitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Achima'az,
9 Ahimaasi akamzaa Azaria, Azaria akamzaa Yohanani,
And Achima'az begat 'Azaryah, and 'Azaryah begat Jochanan,
10 Yohanani akamzaa Azaria (ndiye alifanya kazi ya ukuhani katika Hekalu alilojenga Mfalme Solomoni huko Yerusalemu),
And Jochanan begat 'Azaryah, he it is that officiated as priest in the house that Solomon had built in Jerusalem;
11 Azaria akamzaa Amaria, Amaria akamzaa Ahitubu,
And 'Azaryah begat Amaryah, and Amaryah begat Achitub,
12 Ahitubu akamzaa Sadoki, Sadoki akamzaa Shalumu,
And Achitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Shallum,
13 Shalumu akamzaa Hilkia, Hilkia akamzaa Azaria,
And Shallum begat Chilkiyah, and Chilkiyah begat 'Azaryah,
14 Azaria akamzaa Seraya, Seraya akamzaa Yehosadaki.
And 'Azaryah begat Serayah, and Serayah begat Jehozadak,
15 Yehosadaki alihamishwa wakati Bwana aliwapeleka uhamishoni watu wa Yuda na Yerusalemu kwa mkono wa Mfalme Nebukadneza.
And Jehozadak went away, when the Lord carried Judah and Jerusalem into exile through the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
16 Wana wa Lawi walikuwa: Gershoni, Kohathi na Merari.
The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kehath, and Merari.
17 Haya ndiyo majina ya wana wa Gershoni: Libni na Shimei.
And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni, and Shim'i.
18 Wana wa Kohathi walikuwa: Amramu, Ishari, Hebroni na Uzieli.
And the sons of Kehath were, 'Amram, and Yizhar, and Chebron, and 'Uzziel.
19 Wana wa Merari walikuwa: Mahli na Mushi. Zifuatazo ni koo za Walawi zilizoorodheshwa kufuatana na baba zao:
The sons of Merari: Machli, and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers.
20 Wazao wa Gershoni: Gershoni akamzaa Libni, Libni akamzaa Yahathi, Yahathi akamzaa Zima,
Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jachath his son, Zimmah his son,
21 Zima akamzaa Yoa, Yoa akamzaa Ido, Ido akamzaa Zera, Zera akamzaa Yeatherai.
Yoach his son, 'Iddo his son, Zerach his son, Yeatherai his son.
22 Wazao wa Kohathi: Kohathi akamzaa Aminadabu, Aminadabu akamzaa Kora, Kora akamzaa Asiri,
The sons of Kehath: 'Amminadab his son, Korach his son, Assir his son,
23 Asiri akamzaa Elikana, Elikana akamzaa Ebiasafu, Ebiasafu akamzaa Asiri,
Elkanah his son, and Ebyassaph his son, and Assir his son,
24 Asiri akamzaa Tahathi, Tahathi akamzaa Urieli, Urieli akamzaa Uzia, Uzia akamzaa Shauli.
Tachath his son, Uriel his son, 'Uzziyah his son, and Saul his son.
25 Wazao wa Elikana walikuwa: Amasai na Ahimothi,
And the sons of Elkanah: 'Amassai, and Achimoth,
26 Ahimothi akamzaa Elikana, Elikana akamzaa Sofai, Sofai akamzaa Nahathi,
[And] Elkanah. The sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, and Nachath his son.
27 Nahathi akamzaa Eliabu, Eliabu akamzaa Yerohamu, Yerohamu akamzaa Elikana, Elikana akamzaa Samweli.
Eliab his son, Jerocham his son, Elkanah his son.
28 Wana wa Samweli walikuwa: Yoeli mzaliwa wake wa kwanza, na Abiya mwanawe wa pili.
And the sons of Samuel: the first-born Vashni, and Abiyah.
29 Wafuatao ndio wazao wa Merari: Merari akamzaa Mahli, Mahli akamzaa Libni, Libni akamzaa Shimei, Shimei akamzaa Uza,
The sons of Merari: Machli, Libni his son, Shim'i his son, 'Uzzah his son,
30 Uza akamzaa Shimea, Shimea akamzaa Hagia, Hagia akamzaa Asaya.
Shim'a his son, Chaggiyah his son, 'Assayah his son.
31 Hawa ndio watu ambao Daudi aliwaweka kuwa viongozi wa uimbaji katika nyumba ya Bwana, baada ya Sanduku la Agano kuletwa ili kukaa huko.
And these are those whom David appointed for the purpose of conducting the singing in the house of the Lord, after the ark had a resting-place.
32 Walihudumu kwa kuimba mbele ya Maskani, Hema la Kukutania, mpaka hapo Mfalme Solomoni alipojenga Hekalu la Bwana huko Yerusalemu. Walitimiza wajibu wao kulingana na taratibu walizokuwa wamewekewa.
And they ministered before the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation with singing, until Solomon built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem; and they acted according to their prescribed manner in their service.
33 Wafuatao ni watu waliohudumu pamoja na wana wao: Kutoka ukoo wa Kohathi walikuwa: Hemani, mpiga kinanda, alikuwa mwana wa Yoeli, mwana wa Samweli,
And these are those that so acted with their sons. Of the sons of the Kehathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,
34 mwana wa Elikana, mwana wa Yerohamu, mwana wa Elieli, mwana wa Toa,
The son of Elkanah, the son of Jerocham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toach,
35 mwana wa Sufu, mwana wa Elikana, mwana wa Mahathi, mwana wa Amasai,
The son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Machath, the son of 'Amassai,
36 mwana wa Elikana, mwana wa Yoeli, mwana wa Azaria, mwana wa Sefania,
The son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of 'Azaryah, the son of Zephanyah,
37 mwana wa Tahathi, mwana wa Asiri, mwana wa Ebiasafu, mwana wa Kora,
The son of Tachath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebyassaph, the son of Korach,
38 mwana wa Ishari, mwana wa Kohathi, mwana wa Lawi, mwana wa Israeli;
The son of Yizhar, the son of Kehath, the son at Levi, the son of Israel.
39 na msaidizi wa Hemani alikuwa Asafu, aliyesimama mkono wa kuume: Asafu mwana wa Berekia, mwana wa Shimea,
And his relative Assaph was he, who stood on his right hand, [even] Assaph the son of Berachyah, the son of Shim'a,

The son of Michael, the son of Ba'asseyah, the son of Malkiyah,
41 mwana wa Ethni, mwana wa Zera, mwana wa Adaya,
The son of Ethni, the son of Zerach, the son of 'Adayah.
42 mwana wa Ethani, mwana wa Zima, mwana wa Shimei,
The son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shim'i,
43 mwana wa Yahathi, mwana wa Gershoni, mwana wa Lawi.
The son of Jachath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.
44 Na kutoka kwa walioshirikiana nao, Wamerari, mkono wake wa kushoto: Ethani mwana wa Kishi, mwana wa Abdi, mwana wa Maluki,
And their brethren the sons of Merari [stood] on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of 'Abdi, the son of Malluch,
45 mwana wa Hashabia, mwana wa Amazia, mwana wa Hilkia,
The son of Chashabyah, the son of Amazyah, the son of Chilkiyah,
46 mwana wa Amsi, mwana wa Bani, mwana wa Shemeri,
The son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shamer,
47 mwana wa Mahli, mwana wa Mushi, mwana wa Merari, mwana wa Lawi.
The son of Machli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.
48 Ndugu zao wengine Walawi walipewa huduma nyingine za kuhudumia hema takatifu, nyumba ya Mungu.
And their brethren the Levites were superadded for all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.
49 Lakini Aroni na uzao wake ndio waliokuwa na wajibu wa kutoa sadaka katika madhabahu ya sadaka ya kuteketezwa na kwenye madhabahu ya kufukizia uvumba pamoja na yote yaliyofanyika pa Patakatifu, wakifanya upatanisho kwa ajili ya Israeli, sawasawa na yale yote aliyoagiza Mose mtumishi wa Mungu.
But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt-offering, and upon the altar of incense, [and were] for all the work of the most holy place, and to make an atonement for Israel, in accordance with all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

53 Ahitubu akamzaa Sadoki, Sadoki akamzaa Ahimaasi.
Zadok his son, Achima'az his son.
54 Zifuatazo ni sehemu walizopewa ziwe nchi yao kwa ajili ya makazi yao (walipewa wazao wa Aroni waliotoka katika ukoo wa Wakohathi, kwa sababu kura ya kwanza iliwaangukia):
And these are their dwelling-places with their castles in their boundaries; unto the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kehathites; for theirs was the [first] lot, —

And they gave unto them Hebron in the land of Judah, with its open spaces round about it.

But the fields of the city, and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son Jephunneh.
57 Kwa hiyo wazao wa Aroni walipewa miji ifuatayo pamoja na eneo la malisho: Hebroni (mji wa makimbilio), Libna, Yatiri, Eshtemoa,
And to the sons of Aaron they gave [of] the cities of refuge Hebron, and Libnah with its open spaces, and Jattir, and Eshthemoa, with its open spaces.
58 Hileni, Debiri,
And Chilen with its open spaces, Debir with its open spaces,
59 Ashani, Yuta na Beth-Shemeshi pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho.
And 'Ashan with its open spaces, and Beth-shemesh with its open spaces.
60 Kutoka kabila la Benyamini walipewa Gibeoni, Geba, Alemethi na Anathothi, pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho. Miji hii kumi na mitatu iligawanywa miongoni mwa koo za Wakohathi.
And from the tribe of Benjamin, Geba' with its open spaces, and 'Alemeth with its open spaces, and 'Anathoth with its open spaces. And all their cities were thirteen cities after their families.
61 Wazao waliobaki wa Wakohathi walipewa miji kumi kutoka koo za nusu ya kabila la Manase.
And unto the sons of Kehath that were left of the family of that tribe, [were given] from the half tribe, the half tribe of Menasseh, by lot, ten cities.
62 Wazao wa Gershoni, ukoo kwa ukoo, walipewa miji kumi na mitatu kutoka kwa makabila ya Isakari, Asheri na Naftali kutoka sehemu ya kabila la Manase huko Bashani.
And to the sons or Gershom after their families, from the tribe of Issachar, and from the tribe of Asher, and from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the tribe of Menasseh in Bashan, [were given] thirteen cities.
63 Wazao wa Merari, ukoo kwa ukoo walipewa miji kumi na miwili kutoka makabila ya Reubeni, Gadi na Zabuloni.
Unto the sons of Merari after their families, from the tribe of Reuben, and from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun, [were given] by lot, twelve cities.
64 Kwa hiyo Waisraeli waliwapa Walawi miji hii pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho.
And the children of Israel gave to the Levites these cities with their open spaces.
65 Kutoka makabila ya Yuda, Simeoni na Benyamini walipewa miji iliyotajwa hapo juu.
And they gave by lot from the tribe of the children of Judah, and from the tribe of the children of Simeon, and from the tribe of the children of Benjamin these cities, which they called by names.
66 Baadhi ya koo za Wakohathi walipewa kama nchi yao miji kutoka kabila la Efraimu.
And some of the families of the sons of Kehath had the cities of their territory from the tribe of Ephraim.
67 Katika nchi ya vilima ya Efraimu walipewa Shekemu (mji wa makimbilio) na Gezeri,
And they gave unto them, [of] the cities of refuge Sechem with its open spaces in the mountain of Ephraim, and Gezer with its open spaces.
68 Yokmeamu, Beth-Horoni,
And Jokme'am with its open spaces, and Beth-choron with its open spaces,
69 Aiyaloni na Gath-Rimoni, pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho.
And Ayalon with its open spaces, and Gath-rimmon with its open spaces.
70 Kutoka nusu ya kabila la Manase, Waisraeli waliwapa koo za Wakohathi waliobaki miji ya Aneri na Bileamu pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho.
And from the half tribe of Menasseh: 'Aner with its open spaces: and Bil'am with its open spaces, for the family of the remaining portion of the sons of Kehath.
71 Wagershoni walipokea miji ifuatayo pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho: Katika nusu ya kabila la Manase: walipewa Golani katika Bashani na pia Ashtarothi.
Unto the sons of Gershom [were given] from the family of the half tribe of Menasseh, Golan in Bashan with its open spaces, and 'Ashtaroth with its open spaces.
72 Kutoka kabila la Isakari walipokea Kedeshi, Daberathi,
And from the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh with its open spaces, Dobrath with its open spaces,
73 Ramothi na Anemu, pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho.
And Ramoth with its open spaces, and 'Anem with its open spaces.
74 Kutoka kabila la Asheri walipokea Mashali, Abdoni,
And from the tribe of Asher: Mashal with its open spaces, and 'Abdon with its open spaces,
75 Hukoki na Rehobu, pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho.
And Chukok with its open spaces, and Rechob with its open spaces.
76 Kutoka kabila la Naftali walipokea Kedeshi katika Galilaya, Hamoni na Kiriathaimu pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho.
And from the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee with its open spaces, and Chammon with its open spaces, and Kiryathayim with its open spaces.
77 Wamerari (Walawi waliobakia) walipokea miji ifuatayo: kutoka kabila la Zabuloni walipokea Yokneamu, Karta, Rimoni na Tabori pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho.
Unto the remaining portion of the children of Merari [were given] from the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono with its open spaces, Tabor with its open spaces.
78 Kutoka kabila la Reubeni, ngʼambo ya Yordani mashariki mwa Yeriko walipokea Bezeri ulioko jangwani, Yahasa,
And on the other side the Jordan by Jericho, on the east side of Jordan, from the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness with its open spaces, and Jahzah with its open spaces,
79 Kedemothi na Mefaathi pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho.
And Kedemoth with its open spaces, and Mepha'ath with its open spaces.
80 Na kutoka kabila la Gadi walipokea Ramothi huko Gileadi, Mahanaimu,
And from the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gila'd with its open spaces, and Machanayim with its open spaces.
81 Heshboni na Yazeri, pamoja na maeneo yake ya malisho.
And Cheshbon with its open spaces, and Ja'azer with its open spaces.
