1 Wana wa Reubeni mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Israeli (yeye alikuwa mzaliwa wa kwanza, lakini kwa kuwa alikinajisi kitanda cha baba yake, haki zake za mzaliwa wa kwanza walipewa wana wa Yosefu mwana wa Israeli. Hivyo hakuorodheshwa kwenye orodha ya ukoo wao kulingana na haki yake ya kuzaliwa.
And the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel—for he was the first-born; but, when the defiled his father's bed, was his birthright given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: so that the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the first-birth.

For Judah became the mightiest of his brothers, and the prince descended from him: while the first-birthright belonged to Joseph, —
3 Wana wa Reubeni mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Israeli walikuwa: Hanoki, Palu, Hesroni na Karmi.
The sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel were, Chanoch, and Pallu, Chezron, and Carmi.
4 Wazao wa Yoeli walikuwa: Shemaya mwanawe, Gogu mwanawe; Shimei mwanawe,
The sons of Joel: Shema'yah his son, Gog his son, Shim'i his son,
5 Mika mwanawe, Reaya mwanawe, Baali mwanawe,
Michah his son, Reayah his son, Ba'al his son,
6 na Beera mwanawe, ambaye Tiglath-Pileseri mfalme wa Ashuru alimchukua kwenda uhamishoni. Beera alikuwa kiongozi wa Wareubeni.
Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneesser the king of Assyria carried into exile: he was the prince of the Reubenites.
7 Jamaa zao kulingana na koo zao, walioorodheshwa kwa kufuata koo zao kama ifuatavyo: Yeieli aliyekuwa mkuu wao, Zekaria,
And his brethren by their families, according to their genealogy after their generations, were, the chief, Je'iel, and Zecharyahu,
8 Bela mwana wa Azazi, mwana wa Shema, mwana wa Yoeli. Hao waliishi katika eneo kuanzia Aroeri mpaka Nebo na Baal-Meoni.
And Bela' the son of 'Azaz, the son of Shema', the son of Joel, who dwelt in 'Aro'er, and as far as Nebo and Ba'al-me'on;
9 Kwa upande wa mashariki walienea hadi pembeni mwa jangwa linaloenea mpaka kwenye Mto Frati, kwa sababu mifugo yao ilikuwa imeongezeka huko Gileadi.
And to the eastward he dwelt as far as the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates; because their cattle were numerous in the land of Gil'ad.
10 Wakati wa utawala wa Mfalme Sauli, walipigana vita dhidi ya Wahagari, wakaanguka kwa mikono yao, kisha wakaishi katika mahema ya Wahagari katika eneo lote la mashariki ya Gileadi.
And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarenes, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents in the whole front of the land to the east of Gil'ad.
11 Wagadi waliishi jirani nao katika nchi ya Bashani, mpaka Saleka.
And the children of Gad dwelt alongside of them, in the land of Bashan as far as Salchah.
12 Yoeli ndiye alikuwa mkuu wao, Shafamu wa pili, na wakafuata Yanai na Shafati, huko Bashani.
Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Ja'nai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
13 Ndugu zao kulingana na koo zao walikuwa saba: Mikaeli, Meshulamu, Sheba, Yorai, Yakani, Zia na Eberi.
And their brethren according to their family divisions were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba', and Jorai, and Ya'kan, and Zia', and 'Eber, seven.
14 Hawa walikuwa ndio wana wa Abihaili mwana wa Huri, mwana wa Yaroa, mwana wa Gileadi, mwana wa Mikaeli, mwana wa Yeshishai, mwana wa Yahdo, mwana wa Buzi.
These are the children of Abichayil the son of Churi, the son of Jaroach, the son of Gil'ad, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jachdo, the son of Buz:
15 Ahi mwana wa Abdieli, mwana wa Guni, alikuwa ndiye kiongozi wa jamaa yao.
Achi the son of Abdiel the son of Guni, the chief of their family division.
16 Wagadi waliishi Gileadi, huko Bashani pamoja na vijiji vilivyoizunguka, pia katika nchi yote ya malisho ya Sharoni kote walikoenea.
And they dwelt in Gil'ad, in Bashan, and in its minor towns, and in all the open districts of Sharon, as far as their terminations.
17 Yote haya yaliwekwa katika kumbukumbu za ukoo wao wakati wa utawala wa Yothamu, mfalme wa Yuda na Yeroboamu mfalme wa Israeli.
All these were recorded by their genealogies in the days of Jotham the king of Judah, and in the days of Jerobo'am the king of Israel.
18 Wareubeni, Wagadi na nusu ya kabila la Manase walikuwa na watu mashujaa 44,760 waliokuwa wameandaliwa kwa ajili ya vita: watu wenye nguvu, hodari wa kutumia ngao na upanga, mashujaa wa kutumia upinde, waliokuwa tayari kwa ajili ya kazi hiyo.
The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Menasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear shield and sword, and to draw the bow, and practised in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and sixty, that went out to the army.
19 Walipigana vita dhidi ya Wahagari, Yeturi, Nafishi na Nodabu.
And they made war with the Hagarenes, and Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.
20 Walisaidiwa katika kupigana nao, Mungu akawatia Wahagari pamoja na wote walioungana nao mikononi mwao, kwa sababu walimlilia Mungu wakati wa vita. Alijibu maombi yao, kwa sababu walimtegemea.
And they obtained help against them, and the Hagarenes were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for to God they cried in the battle, and he was entreated by them; because they put their trust in him.
21 Walitwaa mifugo ya Wahagari: ngamia 50,000, kondoo 250,000, punda 2,000. Pia wakateka watu 100,000,
And they led away captive their cattle: of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of human beings one hundred thousand.
22 na wengine wengi waliuawa kwa sababu vita vilikuwa ni vya Mungu. Nao waliendelea kuikalia nchi hiyo mpaka wakati wa uhamisho.
For there fell down many slain; because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their stead until the exile.
23 Idadi ya nusu ya kabila la Manase walikuwa wengi sana, Wakakaa kuanzia Bashani hadi Baal-Hermoni, yaani mpaka Seniri na mlima Hermoni.
And the children of the half tribe of Menasseh dwelt in the land: from Bashan unto Ba'al-chermon and Senir and mount Chermon were they numerous.
24 Hawa ndio waliokuwa viongozi wa jamaa za kabila hilo: Eferi, Ishi, Elieli, Azrieli, Yeremia, Hodavia na Yahdieli. Walikuwa askari shujaa watu maarufu, viongozi wa jamaa zao.
And these were the heads of their family divisions: namely, 'Epher, and Yish'i, and Eliel, and 'Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodavyah, and Jachdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, [and] heads of their family divisions.
25 Lakini hawakuwa waaminifu kwa Mungu wa baba zao, nao wakafanya ukahaba kwa miungu ya mataifa, ambayo Mungu alikuwa ameyaangamiza mbele yao.
But they trespassed against the God of their fathers, and went astray after the gods of the people of the land, whom God had destroyed from before them.
26 Kwa hiyo Mungu wa Israeli akaiamsha roho ya Pulu, mfalme wa Ashuru (ambaye pia alijulikana kama Tiglath-Pileseri), ambaye aliwachukua Wareubeni, Wagadi na nusu ya kabila la Manase kwenda uhamishoni. Akawapeleka huko Hala, Habori, Hara na mto Gozani, ambako wamekaa mpaka leo.
And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul the king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilnesser the king of Assyria, and he carried them into exile, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Menasseh, and brought them unto Chalach, and Chabor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, even until this day.
