Sofonías 3
1 ¡Ay de la rebelde e inmunda, la ciudad opresora.
Woe to her that is rebellious and polluted, to the oppressing city!
2 No le prestó atención a la voz, no aceptó ser corregida, no confió en el Señor, no se acercó a su Dios.
She hearkened not to any voice; she accepted no correction; in the Lord she did not trust; to her God she drew not near.
3 Sus gobernantes son como leones que rugen; sus jueces son lobos de la tarde, que no dejan huesos para la mañana.
Her princes in her midst are roaring lions: her judges are evening wolves, they leave not a bone for the morning.
4 Sus profetas son personas inútiles, llenas de engaño: sus sacerdotes han profanado el lugar santo y violan la ley del Señor.
Her prophets are thoughtless men of treachery: her priests have profaned the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
5 El Señor es justo en medio de ella; él no hará el mal; cada mañana deja que se vea su justicia, es inmutable; pero el malhechor no tiene vergüenza.
The just Lord is in her midst, he will not do wrong; morning after morning doth he bring his justice to the light [of day], it never faileth; but the unjust knoweth no shame.
6 He cortado las naciones, sus torres están destruidas; He convertido sus calles en un desperdicio para que nadie las atraviese; la destrucción ha invadido sus pueblos, de modo que no hay hombre viviendo en ellos.
I have cut off nations; destroyed are their battlements; I have laid in ruins their streets, so that none passeth through; their cities are wasted, without a man, without an inhabitant.
7 Dije: Ciertamente me temerás, y aceptarás corrección, para que no sea destruida su morada; a pesar de lo que yo había determinado sobre ella; pero se levantaron temprano a corromper todas sus obras.
I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt accept correction; so that her dwelling should not be cut off, all that I had decreed to bring over her; but they rose up early, they acted corruptly in all their doings.
8 Por esta razón, sigue esperándome, dice el Señor, hasta el día en que yo venga al despojo; porque mi propósito es enviar a las naciones y juntar los reinos, para que yo pueda soltar sobre ellos mi furor, toda mi ira ardiente; porque toda la tierra arderá en el fuego de mi celo.
Therefore wait but for me, saith the Lord, for the day that I rise up to the prey; for my judgment [cometh] to gather the nations, for me to assemble the kingdoms, to pour over them my indignation, all the fierceness of my anger; for through the fire of my jealousy shall all the earth be devoured.
9 Porque entonces de todo lo que yo había determinado sobre ella, daré al pueblo un lenguaje limpio, para que todos puedan clamar al Señor y ser sus siervos con una sola mente.
Yea then will I change unto the people a pure language, that they may all call on the name of the Lord, to serve him with one accord.
10 Desde los ríos de Etiopía, y desde los lados del norte, vendrán a mí con una ofrenda.
From beyond the rivers of Cush shall they bring my suppliants, even the assembly of my dispersed, as an offering unto me.
11 En ese día no tendrás vergüenza por todas las cosas en las que hiciste mal contra mí; porque entonces quitaré de en medio de ti a los que fueron levantados con orgullo, y ya no serás envanecida con orgullo en mi monte Santo.
On that day shalt thou not be ashamed because of all thy doings, whereby thou hast transgressed against me; for then will I remove out of the midst of thee those that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt never more be haughty again on my holy mount.
12 Pero aún tendré entre ustedes un pueblo callado y pobre, y ellos pondrán su fe en el nombre del Señor.
And I will leave remaining in the midst of thee a humble and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord.
13 El resto de Israel no hará maldad ni dirá mentiras; la lengua del engaño no se verá en su boca; porque tomarán su comida y su descanso, y nadie será motivo de temor para ellos.
The remnant of Israel shall not do injustice, nor speak lies; and there shall not be found in their mouth a deceitful tongue; for they shall feed and lie down, with none to make them afraid.
14 Haz melodía, hija de Sión; grita fuerte, oh Israel; Alégrate y llena de alegría tu corazón, hija de Jerusalén.
Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; rejoice and be glad with all thy heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!
15 El Señor se ha llevado a los que te juzgaban, ha enviado lejos a tus enemigos; el Rey de Israel, incluso el Señor, está entre ustedes; ya no tendrán más miedo al mal.
The Lord hath removed thy punishment, he hath cleared away thy enemy: the king of Israel, the Lord, is in the midst of thee; thou shalt not see evil any more.
16 En aquel día se dirá a Jerusalén: No temas; Sión, no se debiliten tus manos.
On that day shall it be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: [to] Zion, Let not thy hands become weak.
17 El Señor tu Dios está entre ustedes; poderoso, Él salvará; se alegrará en ti con alegría, de amor callará, hará una canción de alegría sobre ti con cantos de júbilo.
The Lord thy God is in the midst of thee, the mighty one who will save; he will be glad over thee with rejoicing; he will be silent in his love, he will exult over thee with song.
18 Reuniré a los afligidos por las fiestas señaladas; él oprobio del destierro es una carga para ellos.
Those that mourn far away from the festive assembly do I gather, those that were separated from thee, [that have borne] for thee the burden of reproach.
19 Mira, en ese momento pondré fin a todos los que te han estado oprimiendo; le daré salvación a ella, a la que cojea, y reuniré a la extraviada; y los convertiré en un motivo de alabanza y un nombre honrado en toda la tierra, donde los han oprimido.
Behold, I will deal [severely] with all that afflict thee at that time: and I will save her that halteth, and her that was driven off will I gather; and I will render them a praise and a famous name on all the earth where they have been put to shame.
20 En ese momento los traeré, en ese momento los reuniré; porque te haré un nombre y una alabanza entre todos los pueblos de la tierra cuando yo haga volver a sus cautivos ante sus ojos, dice el señor.
At that time will I bring you back, even in the time that I gather you; for I will make you for a name and for a praise among all people of the earth, when I bring back again your captives before your eyes, saith the Lord.
