Tito 3

1 Recuérdales que deben ponerse bajo los gobernantes y las autoridades, hacer lo que se les ordena, estar listos para todo buen trabajo,

Remind them to be submissive to their rulers and authorities; let them be obedient, ready for every good work;

2 No decir mal de ningún hombre, no ser contenciosos, sino amables, ser gentil en comportamiento para todos los hombres.

they must speak evil of none, they must not be quarrelsome, but gentle, showing perfect meekness toward all.

3 Porque en el pasado éramos necios, duros de corazón, apartados del camino verdadero, servidores de malos deseos y placeres, viviendo en malos sentimientos y envidia, odiados y aborreciéndonos unos a otros.

For we were ourselves once foolish, disobedient, deceived, slaving for various lusts and pleasures, passing our lives in malice and envy. We were hateful, and we hated one another.

4 Pero cuando se vio la misericordia de Dios nuestro Salvador y su amor para con los hombre,

But when the kindness of God our Saviour, And his love toward men shined forth,

5 Nos salvó, no por obras de justicia que nosotros mismos hicimos, sino en la medida de su misericordia, él nos dio la salvación, mediante el lavado del nuevo nacimiento y la entrega de una nueva vida en el Espíritu Santo,

He saved us, not because of any deeds that we had done in righteousness, But because of his own pity for us. He saved us by that washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit

6 La cual nos dio gratuitamente por medio de Jesucristo nuestro Salvador;

which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

7 Para que, habiendo recibido la justicia por medio de la gracia, tengamos parte en la herencia, la esperanza de la vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)

In order that being justified by his grace, We might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (aiōnios g166)

8 Este es un verdadero dicho; y es mi deseo que puedan dar cierto testimonio acerca de estas cosas, para que aquellos que han tenido fe en Dios puedan prestar atención a las buenas obras. Estas cosas son buenas y provechosas para los hombres;

This saying is trustworthy. On this I want you to firmly insist; that those who have faith in God must be careful to maintain honest occupations. Such counsels are good and profitable for men.

9 Pero no tienen nada que ver con preguntas necias, y listas de generaciones, y peleas y discusiones sobre la ley; porque no tienen ganancia y son insensatos.

But avoid foolish questionings and genealogies and dissensions and wranglings about the law; for these are unprofitable and empty.

10 Un hombre cuyas opiniones no son las de la iglesia, después de una primera y segunda protesta, debe mantenerse fuera de la iglesia;

After a first and second admonition, refuse a man who is causing divisions;

11 Claramente él está en error y es un pecador, siendo juzgado por sí mismo.

you may be sure that such a man is perverted and sinning, and is self-condemned.

12 Cuando te envíe Artemas o Tíquico, haz lo mejor que puedas para venir a verme a Nicópolis; porque mi propósito es estar allí durante el invierno.

As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, join me in Nicopolis as quickly as you can, for I have arranged to winter there.

13 Envía a Zenas, el hombre de la ley, y a Apolos en su viaje con todo cuidado, para que no necesiten nada.

Speed Zenas the lawyer, and Apollos, on their journey diligently.

14 Y que nuestro pueblo continúe con buenas obras para los fines necesarios, para que no queden sin fruto.

Let them want nothing, and "let our people learn to devote themselves to honest work to supply the necessities of their teachers," so that they be not unfruitful.

15 Todos los que están conmigo te envían saludos. Saludos a nuestros amigos que nos aman en la fe. La gracia sea con todos ustedes. Amén.

All who are with us salute you. Salute those who love me in faith. Grace be with you all.
