Romanos 9
1 Digo lo que es verdad en Cristo, y no miento, mi conciencia dando testimonio conmigo en el Espíritu Santo,
I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me testimony in the Holy Spirit,
2 que estoy lleno de tristeza y dolor infinito en mi corazón.
That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
3 Porque tengo el deseo de tomar sobre mí la maldición, separado de Cristo, si así pudiera favorecer a mis hermanos, mi familia en la carne, mi propia raza.
For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ, for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
4 que son israelitas: de los cuales Dios adoptó como hijos, y Dios estuvo entre ellos con su presencia gloriosa, y les dio los pactos, la entrega de la ley de Moisés, el culto, y las promesas;
Who are Israelites; to whom [pertain] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service [of God], and the promises;
5 son los descendientes de los patriarcas, y de los cuales según la carne vino Cristo, quién es Dios sobre todo, a quien sea bendición eternamente. Que así sea. (aiōn g165)
Whose [are] the fathers, and from whom according to the flesh, Christ [came], who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
6 Pero no es como si la palabra de Dios no tuviera efecto. Porque no todos son descendientes Israel, son verdadero pueblo de Israel.
Not as though the word of God hath taken no effect. For they [are] not all Israel, who are [descendants] from Israel?
7 Y no todos son hijos, porque son la simiente de Abraham; Dios le había dicho:”Tu descendencia vendrá por medio de Isaac”.
Neither because they are the seed of Abraham, [are they] all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 Es decir, no son los hijos de la carne, sino los hijos de la promesa de Dios, quienes son considerados verdaderos descendientes.
That is, They who are the children of the flesh, these [are] not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
9 Porque esta es la palabra de la promesa de Dios: “En este momento vendré, y Sara tendrá un hijo”.
For this [is] the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.
10 Y no solo eso, sino que Rebecca estaba por tener un hijo con nuestro padre Isaac,
And not only [this]; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, [even] by our father Isaac,
11 Antes de que los niños hubieran nacido, o hubieran hecho algo bueno o malo, Dios anunció a Rebeca para que el propósito de Dios y su elección permaneciera, no por obras, sino por él que llama,
(For [the children] being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God, according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth)
12 Se le dijo a ella, “el mayor será el servidor del menor”.
It was said to her, The elder shall serve the younger.
13 Como Está escrito, yo ame a Jacob, pero a Esaú odie.
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
14 ¿Qué podemos decir entonces? ¿Dios es injusto? en ninguna manera!
What shall we say then? [Is there] unrighteousness with God? By no means.
15 Porque Dios dijo a Moisés: Tendré misericordia del que yo tenga misericordia, y me compadeceré del que yo me compadezca.
For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
16 Entonces, no es por el deseo o el intento del hombre, sino por la misericordia de Dios.
So then, [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy.
17 Porque las Sagradas Escrituras dicen a Faraón: Para esto mismo te exalté, para hacer ver mi poder en ti, y para que haya conocimiento de mi nombre por toda la tierra.
For the scripture saith to Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might show my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
18 Entonces, a su placer, él tiene misericordia de un hombre, y cuando lo desea, endurece su corazón.
Therefore he hath mercy on whom he will [have mercy], and whom he will he hardeneth.
19 Pero tú me dirás: ¿Por qué él todavía nos hace responsables? ¿Quién puede ir en contra de su propósito?
Thou wilt say then to me, Why doth he yet find fault? for who hath resisted his will?
20 Pero, oh hombre, ¿quién eres tú, para pedirle cuentas a Dios? acaso él vaso de barro le dirá al que lo hizo, ¿Por qué me hiciste así?
No, but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? shall the thing formed say to him that formed [it], Why hast thou made me thus?
21 ¿O acaso el alfarero no tiene el derecho de hacer de una parte de su barro una vasija para uso especial, y de otra una vasija de uso común como?
Hath not the potter power over the clay of the same lump to make one vessel to honor, and another to dishonor?
22 ¿Qué sucedería si Dios, deseando que se vieran su ira y su poder, soportó durante mucho tiempo los vasos de la ira que estaban listos para la destrucción,
[What] if God, willing to show [his] wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
23 y para hacer notorias la riqueza de su gloria, las mostró para con los vasos de misericordia, que él preparó de antemano para gloria,
And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had before prepared for glory,
24 incluso nosotros, los cuales también ha llamado, no solo de los judíos, sino de los gentiles?
Even us whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles.
25 Como él dice en Oseas, “serán nombrados mi pueblo que no eran Mi Pueblo, y la que no era amada, la llamaré mi amada”.
As he saith also in Hosea, I will call them My people, who were not my people; and her Beloved, who was not beloved.
26 Y en el lugar donde se les dijo, ustedes no son mi pueblo, allí serán nombrados los hijos del Dios viviente.
And it shall come to pass, [that] in the place where it was said to them, Ye [are] not my people; there shall they be called, The children of the living God.
27 E Isaías clama acerca de Israel: Aunque el número de los hijos de Israel es como la arena del mar, solo una pequeña parte obtendrá la salvación:
Isaiah also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
28 Porque el Señor ejecutará su sentencia en la tierra con justicia y prontitud, poniendo fin y cortándolo en corto.
For he will finish the work, and cut [it] short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
29 Y, como Isaías había dicho antes, si el Señor de los ejércitos no nos hubiera dado una semilla, hubiésemos sido como Sodoma y Gomorra.
And as Isaiah said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodom, and been made like Gomorrah.
30 ¿Qué podemos decir? Que los gentiles, que no iban tras la justicia, obtuvieron la justicia, es decir, la justicia que es por la fe:
What shall we say then? That the Gentiles who followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith:
31 Pero Israel, siguiendo una ley de justicia, no la obtuvo.
But Israel, who followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
32 ¿Por qué? Porque no lo estaban buscando por fe, sino por obras de la ley. Pues tropezaron en la piedra de tropiezo;
Why? Because [they sought it] not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling-stone;
33 Como está dicho: He aquí, yo estoy poniendo en Sion piedra de tropiezo, y roca de caída; pero el que tiene fe en él no será avergonzado.
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumbling-stone, and rock of offense: and whoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
