Romanos 5
1 Por lo cual, justificados por la fe, estemos en paz con Dios por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo;
Standing then acquitted as the result of faith, let us enjoy peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2 Por medio del cual, también gozamos del favor de Dios por medio de la fe, y estamos firmes y nos alegramos con la esperanza de tener parte de la gloria de Dios.
through whom also, as the result of faith, we have obtained an introduction into that state of favour with God in which we stand, and we exult in hope of some day sharing in God's glory.
3 Y no solo eso, nos gozamos en nuestras tribulaciones: sabiendo que las tribulaciones nos da paciencia;
And not only so: we also exult in our sufferings, knowing as we do, that suffering produces fortitude;
4 Y paciencia, experiencia; y experiencia, esperanza:
fortitude, ripeness of character; and ripeness of character, hope;
5 Y la esperanza no se avergüenza; porque nuestros corazones están llenos del amor de Dios a través del Espíritu Santo que nos es dado.
and that this hope never disappoints, because God's love for us floods our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
6 Porque cuando todavía estábamos débiles, incapaces de salvarnos, en el tiempo correcto Cristo dio su vida por los malhechores.
For already, while we were still helpless, Christ at the right moment died for the ungodly.
7 Ahora es difícil para cualquiera dar su vida incluso por un hombre justo, aunque podría ser que alguien estaría dispuesto a morir por una persona verdaderamente buena.
Why, it is scarcely conceivable that any one would die for a simply just man, although for a good and lovable man perhaps some one, here and there, will have the courage even to lay down his life.
8 Pero Dios nos ha demostrado su amor, en que, cuando todavía éramos pecadores, Cristo dio su vida por nosotros.
But God gives proof of His love to us in Christ's dying for us while we were still sinners.
9 Mucho más, si ahora hemos sido justificados por su sangre, la salvación de la ira de Dios vendrá a nosotros a través de él.
If therefore we have now been pronounced free from guilt through His blood, much more shall we be delivered from God's anger through Him.
10 Porque si cuando éramos enemigos, fuimos reconciliados con Dios por la muerte de su Hijo, mucho más, estando reconciliados, seremos salvos por su vida.
For if while we were hostile to God we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, it is still more certain that now that we are reconciled, we shall obtain salvation through Christ's life.
11 Y no solo eso, sino que tenemos gozo en Dios por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, por quien ahora hemos sido reconciliados con Dios.
And not only so, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now obtained that reconciliation.
12 Por esta razón, como por un hombre vino el pecado al mundo, y la muerte por el pecado, y así la muerte vino a todos los hombres, porque todos hicieron el mal:
What follows? This comparison. Through one man sin entered into the world, and through sin death, and so death passed to all mankind in turn, in that all sinned.
13 Porque hasta que vino la ley, el pecado existía, pero el pecado no se pone a la cuenta de nadie cuando no hay ley que se rompa.
For prior to the Law sin was already in the world; only it is not entered in the account against us when no Law exists.
14 Pero aún la muerte tenía poder desde Adán hasta Moisés, incluso sobre aquellos que no habían hecho mal como Adán, quien es una imagen de aquel que había de venir.
Yet Death reigned as king from Adam to Moses even over those who had not sinned, as Adam did, against Law. And in Adam we have a type of Him whose coming was still future.
15 Pero él don gratuito de Dios no es como la transgresión del hombre. Porque si, por la maldad de un hombre, la muerte llegó a un número de hombres, mucho más la gracia de Dios, y él don de la gracia, por la gracia de un hombre, Jesucristo, vino a los hombres.
But God's free gift immeasurably outweighs the transgression. For if through the transgression of the one individual the mass of mankind have died, infinitely greater is the generosity with which God's grace, and the gift given in His grace which found expression in the one man Jesus Christ, have been bestowed on the mass of mankind.
16 Y la dádiva gratuita no tiene el mismo efecto que el pecado de uno: porque el efecto del pecado de un hombre fue el castigo por la decisión de Dios, pero el dar libre tenía el poder de dar justicia a los malhechores en gran número.
And it is not with the gift as it was with the results of one individual's sin; for the judgement which one individual provoked resulted in condemnation, whereas the free gift after a multitude of transgressions results in acquittal.
17 Porque, si por la maldad de uno, la muerte reinó, mucho más aquellos a quienes ha llegado la riqueza de la gracia y el don de justicia, gobernando en la nueva vida a través de uno, Jesucristo.
For if, through the transgression of the one individual, Death made use of the one individual to seize the sovereignty, all the more shall those who receive God's overflowing grace and gift of righteousness reign as kings in Life through the one individual, Jesus Christ.
18 Entonces, como el efecto de un acto de maldad fue que el castigo vino sobre todos los hombres, aun así el efecto de un acto de justicia muchos quedarán libres de condenación.
It follows then that just as the result of a single transgression is a condemnation which extends to the whole race, so also the result of a single decree of righteousness is a life-giving acquittal which extends to the whole race.
19 Es decir, que por la desobediencia de un hombre, muchos fueron hechos pecadores; pero, de la misma manera, por la obediencia de un solo hombre muchos quedarán libres de culpa.
For as through the disobedience of the one individual the mass of mankind were constituted sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the mass of mankind will be constituted righteous.
20 Y la ley vino además, para empeorar la maldad; pero donde había mucho pecado, había mucha más gracia:
Now Law was brought in later on, so that transgression might increase. But where sin increased, grace has overflowed;
21 para que, así como el pecado reinó para muerte, para que así también la gracia reine por la justicia para vida eterna por medio de Jesucristo, nuestro Señor. (aiōnios g166)
in order that as sin has exercised kingly sway in inflicting death, so grace, too, may exercise kingly sway in bestowing a righteousness which results in the Life of the Ages through Jesus Christ our Lord. (aiōnios g166)
