Salmos 81

1 Haz un canto a Dios, nuestra fortaleza: lanza un alegre clamor al Dios de Jacob!

[For the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath. By Asaph.] Sing aloud to God, our strength. Make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob.

2 Canten al son del pandero, con él arpa y él salterio.

Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine, the pleasant lyre with the harp.

3 Toquen el cuerno en el tiempo de la luna nueva, en la luna llena, en nuestro día de fiesta santa:

Blow the trumpet at the New Moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.

4 Porque esta es la ley de Israel, y la ley del Dios de Jacob.

For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.

5 Se lo dio a José como testigo cuando salió a la tierra de Egipto; entonces las palabras de una extraña lengua sonaban en mis oídos.

He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out over the land of Egypt, I heard a language that I did not know.

6 Bajé el peso de su espalda; sus manos se hicieron libres de las cestas.

"I removed his shoulder from the burden. His hands were freed from the basket.

7 Tú soltaste un grito en tu tribulación, y yo te hice libre; Te di una respuesta en el lugar secreto del trueno; Te puse a prueba en las aguas de Meribah. (Selah)

You called in trouble, and I delivered you. I answered you in the secret place of thunder. I tested you at the waters of Meribah." (Selah)

8 Escucha, pueblo mío, y te daré mi palabra, oh Israel, si solo haces lo que digo.

"Hear, my people, and I will testify to you, Israel, if you would listen to me.

9 No habrá ningún dios extraño entre ustedes; no debes rendir culto a ningún otro dios.

There shall be no strange god in you, neither shall you worship any foreign god.

10 Yo soy el Señor tu Dios, que te subío de la tierra de Egipto; abre tu boca, para que yo te dé de comer.

I am the LORD, your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11 Pero mi pueblo no escuchó mi voz; Israel no quiso obedecerme, nada que ver conmigo.

But my people did not listen to my voice. Israel desired none of me.

12 Así que los entregué a los deseos de sus corazones; para que puedan ir tras sus malvados propósitos.

So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts, that they might walk in their own counsels.

13 Si tan solo mi gente me escuchara, caminando en mis caminos!

Oh that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways.

14 Yo rápidamente vencería a sus enemigos: mi mano se volvería contra aquellos que hacen la guerra contra ellos.

I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn my hand against their adversaries.

15 Los que odiaban al Señor serían quebrantados, y su destrucción sería eterna.

The haters of the LORD would cringe before him, and their punishment would last forever.

16 Yo les daría el mejor grano por comida; estarías lleno de miel de la roca.

And he would have fed him with the finest wheat, and satisfied you with honey from the rock."
