Salmos 73

1 En verdad, Dios es bueno con Israel, incluso con los limpios de corazón.

BOOK THIRD: “A Psalm of Assaph.” Truly God is good to Israel, to such as are pure of heart.

2 Pero en cuanto a mí, mis pies casi habían desaparecido de debajo de mí; Estaba cerca de resbalar;

But as for me, it lacked but little that my feet had been moved: almost nothing was needed that my steps had slipped.

3 Debido a mi envidia de los hombres orgullosos, cuando vi el bienestar de los malhechores.

For I was envious at the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 Porque no tienen dolor; sus cuerpos son gordos y fuertes.

For there are no deadly fetters for them, but their strength is firm.

5 Ellos no están en problemas como otros; no tienen parte en el infeliz destino de los hombres.

They share not in the trouble of mortals, and with men are they not afflicted.

6 Por esta razón, el orgullo los rodea como una cadena; están vestidos con un comportamiento violento como con una túnica.

Therefore is pride their neck-chain: violence envelopeth them as a garment.

7 Sus ojos se les saltan de gordura; ellos tienen más que el deseo de su corazón.

Their eyes start out from fatness: they have exceeded their heart's imaginings.

8 Sus pensamientos son profundos con planes malvados; su charla desde sus asientos de poder es de actos crueles.

They scorn, and speak wickedly of oppression: loftily do they speak.

9 Su boca contra el cielo; su lengua van caminando por la tierra.

They set their mouth in the heavens, and their tongue walketh busily on the earth.

10 Por esta razón están llenos de pan; y el agua siempre fluye para ellos. Por eso Dios hará volver a su pueblo aquí.

Therefore do his people turn away hither: and waters of a full cup are drained by them.

11 Y dicen: ¿Cómo verá el Señor esto? ¿hay conocimiento en el Altísimo?

And they say, How should God know? and is there knowledge in the Most High?

12 Verdaderamente, tales son los pecadores; les va bien en todo momento, y su riqueza aumenta.

Behold, these are the wicked; and yet prospering continually they increase in wealth.

13 En cuanto a mí, hice limpio mi corazón en vano, y lavé mis manos en inocencia.

Verily in vain have I thus cleansed my heart, and have washed in innocency my hands:

14 Porque he estado turbado todo el día; cada mañana he sufrido un castigo.

While I was afflicted all the day, and my chastisement [came] every morning.

15 Si quisiera aclarar cómo es, diría: eres falso para la generación de tus hijos.

But if I were to say, I will speak thus: behold, I would be treacherous against the generation of thy children.

16 Cuando mis pensamientos se volvieron para ver la razón de esto, fue un cansancio en mis ojos;

And when I should think to know this, it would be trouble in my eyes;

17 Hasta que entré en el lugar santo de Dios, y vi el fin de los malhechores.

Until I enter into the sanctuary of God; and understand what their future will be.

18 Pusiste sus pies donde había peligro de resbalar, para que descendieran a la destrucción.

Surely thou placest them on slippery spots: thou lettest them fall down into destruction.

19 ¡Cuán de repente se desperdician! los miedos son la causa de su destrucción.

How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they perish, they come to their end with terrific events.

20 Como un sueño cuando uno está despierto, se acaban; son como una imagen que no se recuerda cuando termina el sueño.

As a dream after awaking, O Lord, reject thou in wrath their image.

21 Mi corazón se amargó y me dolió la mordedura de la tristeza.

For it fermented in my heart, and in my reins I felt sharp thrusts;

22 En cuanto a mí, fui necio y sin conocimiento; Yo era como una bestia delante de ti.

But I was indeed foolish, and I knew it not: I was as a [thoughtless] beast with thee.

23 Pero aún estoy contigo; me has tomado de mi mano derecha.

Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast seized hold of me by my right hand.

24 Tu sabiduría será mi guía, y más tarde me pondrás en un lugar de honor.

With thy counsel wilt thou guide me, and afterward take me on to glory.

25 ¿A quién tengo yo en los cielos sino a ti? y tenerte no deseo nada en la tierra.

Whom have I in heaven? and beside thee I desire nothing upon earth.

26 Mi carne y mi corazón están consumiéndose; pero Dios es la Roca de mi corazón y mi herencia eterna.

Though my flesh and my heart should fall; yet the rock of my heart, and my portion will be God for ever.

27 Porque los que están lejos de ti vendrán a la destrucción; acabarás con todos los que no guardaron fe en ti.

For, lo, those that are far from thee shall perish: thou destroyest every one that strayeth away from thee.

28 Pero es bueno para mí acercarme a Dios; he puesto mi fe en el Señor Dios, para que pueda contar todas sus obras.

But as regardeth me, to draw near to God is good for me: I have put in the Lord Eternal my trust, that I may relate all thy works.
