Salmos 40

1 Cuando esperaba en silencio al Señor, su corazón se volvió hacia mí y escuchó mi clamor.

For the chief musician. A psalm of David. I waited patiently for Yahweh; he listened to me and heard my cry.

2 Él me sacó de la fosa mortal. me salvó de hundirme en él pantano; Puso mis pies sobre una roca e hizo mis pasos seguros.

He brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and he set my feet on a rock and made my steps secure.

3 Y puso una nueva canción en mi boca, alabanza a nuestro Dios; mucho lo han visto con temor y han puesto su fe en el Señor.

He has put a new song in my mouth, praise to our God. Many will see it and honor him and will trust in Yahweh.

4 Feliz es el hombre que tiene fe en el Señor, y no le da honor a los hombres orgullosos ni a aquellos que adoran dioses falsos.

Blessed is the man who makes Yahweh his trust and does not honor the proud or those who turn away from him to lies.

5 Oh Señor mi Dios, grandes son las maravillas que has hecho; y tus pensamiento para con nosotros; no es posible ponerlos en orden delante de ti; si yo anunciare y hablare de ellos, su número es mayor de lo que puedo contar.

Many, Yahweh my God, are the wonderful deeds that you have done, and your thoughts which are about us cannot be numbered; if I declared and spoke of them, they would be more than could be counted.

6 No te agrada ofrendas de bestias o frutos de la tierra; : por las ofrendas quemadas y las ofrendas por el pecado no hiciste ninguna solicitud. En cambio has abierto mis oídos.

You have no delight in sacrifice or offering, but you have opened my ears; you have not required burnt offerings or sin offerings.

7 Entonces dije: Mira, vengo; está registrado de mí en el rollo del libro,

Then said I, “See, I have come; it is written about me in the scroll of the document.

8 Mi deleite es hacer tu voluntad. oh mi Dios; de verdad, tu ley está en mi corazón.

I delight to do your will, my God; your laws are in my heart.”

9 He dado noticias de justicia en la gran reunión; Oh Señor, tienes conocimiento de que no he retenido mis palabras.

I have proclaimed good news of your righteousness in the great assembly; Yahweh, you know that my lips have not kept back from doing this.

10 No me he quedado callado acerca de tu justicia, no se ha plegado en mi corazón; He dejado en claro tu palabra verdadera y tu salvación; No he mantenido en secreto tu misericordia o tu fe de la gran reunión.

I have not concealed your righteousness in my heart; I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your covenant faithfulness or your trustworthiness from the great assembly.

11 No tomes de mí tus gentiles misericordias, Señor; deja que tu misericordia y tu verdad me mantengan a salvo para siempre.

Do not keep back your acts of mercy from me, Yahweh; let your covenant faithfulness and your trustworthiness always preserve me.

12 Porque males innumerables me han rodeado; mis pecados me han alcanzado, de modo que me doblo con su peso y no puedo levantar la vista; son más que los pelos de mi cabeza, mi fuerza se ha ido por ellos.

Troubles that cannot be numbered surround me; my iniquities have caught up with me so that I am no longer able to see anything; they are more than the hairs on my head, and my heart has failed me.

13 Ten placer, oh Señor, para sacarme del peligro; Oh Señor, ven rápido y dame ayuda.

Be pleased, Yahweh, to rescue me; hurry to help me, Yahweh.

14 Los que buscan mi alma para su destrucción tienen vergüenza y confusión; sean retrocedidos y vueltos insensatos los que mi mal desean.

Let them be ashamed and completely disappointed who pursue my life to take it away. Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor, those who delight in hurting me.

15 Que aquellos que me digan, ¡Ajá, aja! Sean avergonzados.

Let them be shocked because of their shame, those who say to me, “Aha, aha!”

16 Que todos los que te buscan se alegren y tengan gozo en ti; Que los amantes de tu salvación alguna vez digan: Que el Señor sea enaltecido.

But may all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; let everyone who loves your salvation say continually, “May Yahweh be praised.”

17 Aunque esté afligido y tengo necesidad, el Señor me tiene en mente; eres mi ayuda y mi salvador; no te tardes, oh mi Dios.

I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinks about me. You are my help and you come to my rescue; do not delay, my God.
