Salmos 17

1 Escucha mi causa justa; oh Señor, presta atención a mi clamor; escucha mi oración que no sale de los labios mentirosos.

A prayer of David. Listen, O Lord of my righteousness, attend to my petition; give ear to my prayer not [uttered] with deceitful lips.

2 Sé mi juez; tu sabes y ves lo que es correcto.

Let my judgment come forth from your presence; let mine eyes behold righteousness.

3 Has puesto mi corazón a prueba, me has visitado en la noche; me has puesto a prueba y no has visto ningún mal propósito en mí; Mantendré mi boca del pecado.

You has proved mine heart; you have visited [me] by night; you have tried me as with fire, and unrighteousness has not been found in me: [I am purposed] that my mouth shall not speak [amiss].

4 En cuanto a las obras de los hombres, por la palabra de tus labios me he guardado de los caminos de los violentos.

As for the works of men, by the words of your lips I have guarded [myself from] hard ways.

5 Sustenta mis pasos en tus caminos, para que mis pies no resbalen.

Direct my steps in your paths, that my steps slip not.

6 Mi clamor ha subido a ti, porque tú me darás una respuesta, oh Dios; vuelve tu oído hacia mí, y presta atención a mis palabras.

I have cried, for you heard me, O God: incline your ear to me, and listen to my words.

7 Deja en claro la maravilla de tu misericordia, oh salvador de los que ponen su fe en tu diestra, de los que salen en contra de ellos.

Show the marvels of your mercies, you that save them that hope in you.

8 Guárdame como la niña de tus ojos, cubriéndome con la sombra de tus alas,

Keep me as the apple of the eye from those that resist your right hand: you shall screen me by the covering of your wings,

9 De los malvados que me atacan, y de los que están a mi alrededor, deseando mi muerte.

from the face of the ungodly that have afflicted me: mine enemies have compassed about my soul.

10 Son orgullosos, con sus bocas hablan arrogantemente.

They have enclosed [themselves with] their own fat: their mouth has spoken pride.

11 Han cercado nuestros pasos: sus ojos están fijos en nosotros, esperando el momento de echarnos por tierra;

They have now cast me out and compassed me round about: they have set their eyes [so as] to bow them down to the ground.

12 Como un león feroz que desea su alimento, y como un leoncillo que espera con ansias dar el zarpazo en lugares secretos.

They laid wait for me as a lion ready for prey, and like a lion's whelp dwelling in secret [places].

13 Levántate Señor, enfréntate con ellos, humillalos, con tu espada sé mi salvador del malhechor.

Arise, O Lord, prevent them, and cast them down: deliver my soul from the ungodly: [draw] your sword,

14 Con tu mano, oh Jehová, de hombres, hombres del mundo, cuya herencia está en esta vida, y de los cuales sacias con sus riquezas; cuyo vientre está lleno de su tesoro, sacian a sus hijos; y aún sobra para su descendencia después de su muerte.

because of the enemies of your hand: O Lord, destroy them from the earth; scatter them in their life, though their belly has been filled with your hidden [treasures]: they have been satisfied with uncleanness, and have left the remnant [of their possessions] to their babes.

15 En cuanto a mí, veré tu rostro en justicia; cuando esté despierto, me alegrará ver tu cara.

But I shall appear in righteousness before your face: I shall be satisfied when your glory appears.
