Salmos 140
1 Oh Señor, sácame del poder del malvado; mantenerme a salvo del hombre violento:
To the Chief Musician. A Melody of David. Rescue me, O Yahweh, from the men of mischief, From the men of violence, wilt thou preserve me:
2 Porque sus corazones están llenos de malvados designios; y ellos siempre están preparando causas de guerra.
Who have devised mischiefs in their [heart], Every day, do they stir up wars:
3 Sus lenguas son agudas como la lengua de una serpiente; el veneno de las serpientes está bajo sus labios. (Selah)
They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent, —The poison of the asp, is under their lips. (Selah)
4 Oh Señor, sácame de las manos de los pecadores; mantenerme a salvo del hombre violento: porque están diseñando mi caída.
Keep me, O Yahweh, from the hands of the lawless one, From the man of violence, wilt thou preserve me, —who have devised, to thrust at my steps:
5 Los hombres soberbios pusieron cuerdas secretas para mis pies; estirando las redes en mi camino, para que puedan atraparme con sus trucos. (Selah)
The proud have hidden a snare for me, and, cords, have they spread as a net beside the track, Snares, have they set for me. (Selah)
6 He dicho al Señor: Tú eres mi Dios; escucha, oh Jehová, a la voz de mi oración.
I have said unto Yahweh, My GOD, thou art! Give ear, O Yahweh, unto the voice of my supplications.
7 Oh Señor Dios, la fortaleza de mi salvación, has sido una cubierta sobre mi cabeza en el día de la pelea.
O Yahweh, My Lord, my saving strength, thou hast screened my head in the day of battle.
8 Oh Señor, no le des al malhechor su deseo; no le ayudes en sus designios malvados, o puede ser elevado con orgullo. (Selah)
Do not grant, O Yahweh, the desires of the lawless one, his device, do not promote, They would exalt themselves. (Selah)
9 En cuanto a los que se acercan a mí, que la maldad de sus labios cubra sus cabezas.
As for the head of them who surround me, Let the mischief of their lips cover them:
10 Dejen que las llamas ardientes caigan sobre ellos; que los pongan en el fuego y en aguas profundas, para que no vuelvan a levantarse.
May there be dropped on them live coals, —Into the fire, may they be let fall, into watery pits [from which] they shall not rise.
11 Que el hombre de mala lengua no esté a salvo en la tierra; que la destrucción alcance al hombre violento con golpe sobre golpe.
As for the slanderer, let him not be established in the earth, —As for the man of wrongful violence, let misfortune hunt him with thrust upon thrust.
12 Estoy seguro de que el Señor se encargará de la causa de los pobres y de los derechos de los que están en problemas.
I know that Yahweh will execute, the right of the oppressed one, the vindication of the needy.
13 En verdad, los rectos alabarán tu nombre; los santos tendrán un lugar en tu casa.
Surely, the righteous, shall give thanks to thy Name, the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
