Proverbios 5
1 Hijo mío, presta atención a mi sabiduría; deja que tu oído se vuelva a mi enseñanza:
My son, to my wisdom, attend, and, to mine understanding, incline thou thine ear:
2 para que seas gobernado por un propósito sabio, y tus labios mantengan el conocimiento.
That thou mayest preserve discretion, —and, as for knowledge, that thy lips may guard it.
3 Porque la miel está cayendo de los labios de la mujer extraña, y su voz es más suave que el aceite;
For, with sweet droppings, drip the lips of her that is a stranger, and, smoother than oil, is her mouth;
4 Pero su fin es amargo como el ajenjo, y afilado como una espada de dos filos;
But, the latter end of her, is bitter as wormwood, sharp, as a two-edged sword!
Her feet, are going down to death, —on hades, will her steps take firm hold. (Sheol h7585)
6 Ella nunca mantiene su mente en el camino de la vida; sus caminos son inciertos, ella no tiene conocimiento.
Lest, the path of life, she should ponder, her tracks have wandered she knoweth not [whither].
7 Escúchenme, hijos míos, y no guarden mis palabras de ustedes.
Now, therefore, ye sons, hearken unto me, and do not turn away from the sayings of my mouth.
8 Vete lejos de ella, no te acerques a la puerta de su casa;
Keep far from her thy way, and do not go near the opening of her house:
9 Por temor a dar tu honor a los demás, y tu riqueza a los hombres extraños:
Lest thou give, to other men, thy vigour, and thy years, to him that is cruel:
10 Y los hombres extraños se llene con tus riquezas, y el fruto de tu trabajo ir a la casa de los demás;
Lest strange men, be well fed, by thy strength, and, thy toils, be in the house of the alien.
11 Y estarás lleno de dolor al final de tu vida, cuando tu carne y tu cuerpo se envejezca;
So shalt thou grieve in thy latter end, in the failing of thy flesh and of thy healthy condition;
12 Y dirás: ¿Cómo fue la enseñanza odiada por mí, y mi corazón no valoró el entrenamiento?
And thou shalt say—How I hated correction! and, reproof, my heart disdained;
13 ¡No presté atención a la voz de mis maestros, mi oído no se dirigió a los que me guiaban!
Neither hearkened I to the voice of my teachers, nor, to my instructors, inclined I mine ear:
14 Estaba en casi todas las maldades en compañía de la gente.
Soon was I in all evil, in the midst of convocation and assembly.
15 Deja que el agua de tu cisterna y no la de los demás sea tu bebida y agua fluyendo de tu propia fuente.
Drink thou water out of thine own cistern, and flowing streams out of the midst of thine own well.
16 Que no fluyan tus manantiales en las calles, ni tus corrientes de agua en los lugares abiertos.
Let not thy fountains, flow over, abroad, in the streets, dividings of waters:
17 Déjales que sean solo para ti, no para otros hombres contigo.
Let them be for thyself, alone, and not for strangers with thee.
18 Deja que la bendición sea en tu fuente; ten gozo en la esposa de tus primeros años.
Let thy well-spring be blessed, —and get thy joy from the wife of thy youth: —
19 Como cierva amorosa y cierva amable, que sus pechos te den siempre deleite; deja que tu pasión sea movida en todo momento por su amor.
A loving hind! a graceful doe! let, her bosom, content thee at all times, and, in her love, mayst thou stray evermore.
20 ¿Por qué te permites, hijo mío, salir del camino con una mujer extraña, y tomar otra mujer en tus brazos?
Wherefore, then, shouldst thou stray, my son, with a strange woman? or embrace the bosom of a woman unknown?
21 Porque los caminos del hombre están delante de los ojos del Señor, y él pone todas sus caminos en la balanza.
For, before the eyes of Yahweh, are the ways of a man, —and, all his tracks, doth he consider:
22 El malvado será tomado en la red de sus crímenes, y encarcelado en las cuerdas de su pecado.
His own iniquities, shall entrap him with the lawless, and, by the cords of his own sin, shall he be seized.
23 El llegará a su fin por necesidad de enseñanza; él es tan tonto que irá vagando por el camino erróneo.
He, shall die, for lack of discipline, and, by the abounding of his perversity, shall he be lost.
