Proverbios 3
1 Hijo mío, guarda mis enseñanzas en tu memoria y mis reglas en tu corazón:
My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart guard my precepts.
2 porque te darán más días, años de vida y paz.
For they shall set before you length of days, and years of life, and peace.
3 No se aparten de ti la misericordia y la buena fe; déjalos colgados del cuello, grabados en tu corazón;
Let not mercy and truth abandon you: encircle them around your throat, and inscribe them on the tablets of your heart.
4 Entonces tendrás gracia y un buen nombre a los ojos de Dios y de los hombres.
And so shall you discover grace and good discipline, in the sight of God and men.
5 Pon toda tu esperanza en Dios, y no te apoyes en tu propia inteligencia.
Have confidence in the Lord with all your heart, and do not depend upon your own prudence.
6 En todos tus caminos escúchalo, y él enderezará tus pasos.
In all your ways, consider him, and he himself will direct your steps.
7 No valores demasiado tu sabiduría; deja que el temor de Jehová esté delante de ti, y guárdate del mal.
Do not seem wise to yourself. Fear God, and withdraw from evil.
8 Esto dará fortaleza a tu carne y vida nueva a tus huesos.
Certainly, it shall be health to your navel, and refreshment to your bones.
9 Honra a Jehová con tus riquezas, y con las primicias de todos tus frutos;
Honor the Lord with your substance, and give to him from the first of all your fruits,
10 así tus graneros estarán llenos de grano, y tus depósitos rebosarán de vino nuevo.
and then your storehouses will be filled with abundance, and your presses shall overflow with wine.
11 Hijo mío, no endurezcas tu corazón contra las enseñanzas del Señor; no te enojes con su entrenamiento:
My son, do not discard the discipline of the Lord, and do not fall away when you are corrected by him.
12 Porque a los que le son amados, el Señor corrige, como él padre corrige al hijo que le agrada.
For whomever the Lord loves, he corrects, and just as a father does with a son, he wins him over.
13 Feliz es el hombre que hace el descubrimiento de la sabiduría, y el que obtiene el conocimiento.
Blessed is the man who finds wisdom and who advances to prudence.
14 Para comerciar en ella es mejor que comerciar en plata, y su ganancia mayor que oro brillante.
Her acquisition is better than trading in silver, and her fruit is better than the first and purest gold.
15 Ella es más valiosa que las joyas, y nada de lo que puedas desear es justo en comparación con ella.
She is more precious than all riches, and all that can be desired cannot prevail in comparison to her.
16 Larga vida está en su mano derecha, y en su izquierda están la riqueza y el honor.
Length of days is at her right hand, and at her left hand is wealth and glory.
17 Sus caminos son caminos de deleite, y todos sus caminos son paz.
Her ways are beautiful ways, and all her paths are peaceful.
18 Ella es un árbol de la vida para todos los que la toman en sus manos, y feliz es cada uno que la guarda.
She is a tree of life to those who overtake her, and he who shall take hold of her is blessed.
19 El Señor con sabiduría puso en posición las bases de la tierra; con inteligencia puso los cielos en su lugar.
The Lord founded the earth on wisdom. He secured the heavens with prudence.
20 Según su conocimiento, el abismo se separó y el rocío cayó desde los cielos.
By his wisdom, the abyss erupted and the clouds increased with dew.
21 Hijo mío, mantén el buen sentido, y no dejes que los sabios propósitos se aparten de tus ojos.
My son, let not these things move away from your eyes. Preserve law as well as counsel.
22 Entonces serán vida para tu alma, y gracia para tu cuello.
And so shall there be life in your soul and grace in your voice.
23 Entonces irás seguro en tu camino, y tus pies no tendrán ningún motivo para resbalar.
Then you shall walk confidently in your way, and your feet will not stumble.
24 Cuando descanses no tendrás miedo, y en tu cama el sueño será dulce para ti.
When you slumber, you shall not fear. When you rest, your sleep also will be sweet.
25 No temas al peligro repentino, ni a la tempestad que vendrá sobre los malhechores:
Do not fear unexpected terror, nor the power of the impious falling upon you.
26 Porque Jehová será tu esperanza, y guardará tu pie de ser tomado en la red.
For the Lord will be at your side, and he will guard your feet, so that you may not be seized.
27 No te niegues a hacer el bien a aquellos que tienen derecho a ello, cuando esté en el poder de tu mano hacerlo.
Do not prevent him who is able from doing good. When you are able, do good yourself too.
28 No digas a tu prójimo: vete, y ven, y mañana yo daré; cuando lo tienes por ti en ese momento.
Do not say to your friend: “Go away, and then return. Tomorrow I will give to you.” When you are able to do so, give in the present.
29 No hagas malos designios contra tu prójimo, porque él esté contigo sin temor.
Do not undertake evil against your friend, even though he has trust in you.
30 No tomes una causa contra la ley contra un hombre por nada, si él no te ha hecho nada malo.
Do not contend against a man without cause, even though he has done no evil to you.
31 No tengas envidia del hombre violento, o tomes cualquiera de sus caminos como ejemplo.
Do not rival an unjust man, and do not imitate his ways.
32 Porque el hombre injusto es odiado por el Señor, pero Él es amigo de los rectos.
For everyone who ridicules is an abomination to the Lord, and his communication is for the simple.
33 La maldición del Señor está sobre la casa del malhechor, pero su bendición está sobre la morada de los rectos.
Destitution in the house of the impious is from the Lord. But the habitations of the just shall be blessed.
34 Él se burlará de los burlones, pero él da gracia a los gentiles.
He will ridicule those who ridicule, but he will bestow grace upon the mild.
35 Los sabios tendrán gloria por su herencia, pero la vergüenza será la recompensa de los necios.
The wise will possess glory. The exaltation of the foolish is disgraceful.
