Proverbios 28
1 El malvado huye cuando ningún hombre lo persigue, pero los rectos no tienen miedo, como el león.
The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are secure as a young lion.
2 Debido al pecado de la tierra, sus problemas aumentan; pero por un hombre de sabiduría y conocimiento serán apagados como un fuego.
For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof; but by a man of understanding and knowledge established order shall long continue.
3 Un hombre rico que es cruel con los pobres es como una lluvia violenta que causa destrucción de alimentos.
A poor man that oppresseth the weak is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4 Los que no respetan la ley alaban al malhechor; pero tales que guardan la ley están en contra de él.
They that forsake the law praise the wicked; but such as keep the law contend with them.
5 Los hombres malvados no tienen conocimiento de lo que es correcto; pero los que van tras el Señor tienen conocimiento de todas las cosas.
Evil men understand not justice; but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
6 Mejor es el pobre cuyos caminos son rectos, que el hombre rico cuyos caminos no son rectos.
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
7 El que guarda la ley es hijo sabio, pero el que se hace compañía de los glotones avergüenza a su padre.
A wise son observeth the teaching; but he that is a companion of gluttonous men shameth his father.
8 El que hace que su riqueza sea más grande al tomar interés, solo lo junta para el que tiene compasión de los pobres.
He that augmenteth his substance by interest and increase, gathereth it for him that is gracious to the poor.
9 En cuanto al hombre que aparta su oído para no oír la ley, incluso su oración es desagradable.
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
10 Cualquiera que haga que los rectos vayan errantes por el mal camino, él mismo descenderá al hoyo que él ha hecho; pero los rectos tendrán buenas cosas para su herencia.
Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit; but the whole-hearted shall inherit good.
11 El hombre de riqueza parece ser sabio en su opinión, pero el pobre que tiene sentido tiene una baja opinión de él.
The rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him through.
12 Cuando los rectos hacen bien, hay gran gloria; pero cuando los malhechores son levantados, los hombres se esconden.
When the righteous exult, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men must be sought for.
13 El que guarda sus pecados en secreto no hará bien; pero el que está abierto acerca de ellos y los abandona, obtendrá misericordia.
He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy.
14 Feliz es el hombre en quien está el temor del Señor en todo momento; pero aquel cuyo corazón es duro entrará en problemas.
Happy is the man that feareth alway; but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into evil.
15 Como un león de voz fuerte y un oso errante, es un malvado gobernante sobre un pueblo pobre.
As a roaring lion, and a ravenous bear; so is a wicked ruler over a poor people.
16 El príncipe que no tiene sentido es un gobernante cruel; pero el que no desea obtener ganancias por sí mismo tendrá una vida larga.
The prince that lacketh understanding is also a great oppressor; but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
17 Alguien que ha sido la causa de la muerte de un hombre irá en vuelo al sepulcro: que ningún hombre le dé ayuda.
A man that is laden with the blood of any person shall hasten his steps unto the pit; none will support him.
18 Aquel cuyos caminos son rectos estará a salvo, pero repentina será la caída de aquel cuyos caminos están torcidos.
Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved; but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.
19 Al arar su tierra, un hombre tendrá pan en toda su medida; pero el que persigue a los holgazanes será lo suficientemente pobre.
He that tilleth his ground shall have plenty of bread; but he that followeth after vain things shall have poverty enough.
20 Un hombre de buena fe tendrá una gran bendición, pero uno que intenta obtener riqueza rápidamente no quedará libre del castigo.
A faithful man shall abound with blessings; but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be unpunished.
21 No es bueno tener respeto por la posición de un hombre: porque un hombre hará lo malo por un poco de pan.
To have respect of persons is not good; for a man will transgress for a piece of bread.
22 El que siempre desea riqueza, corre tras el dinero, y no ve la necesidad vendrá sobre él.
He that hath an evil eye hasteneth after riches, and knoweth not that want shall come upon him.
23 El que dice palabras de protesta a un hombre tendrá más aprobación que uno que diga palabras alabadoras con su lengua.
He that rebuketh a man shall in the end find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
24 El que toma de su padre o de su madre lo que es suyo por derecho, y dice: No es pecado; es lo mismo que un tomador de vida.
Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith: 'It is no transgression', the same is the companion of a destroyer.
25 El que siempre desea ganancias, es causa de pelea; pero el que pone su fe en el Señor prosperará.
He that is of a greedy spirit stirreth up strife; but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be abundantly gratified.
26 El que tiene fe en sí mismo es necio; pero todos los que caminan sabiamente estarán a salvo.
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool; but whoso walketh wisely, he shall escape.
27 El que da al pobre nunca tendrá necesidad, pero grandes maldiciones caerán sobre el que no les presta atención.
He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack; but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
28 Cuando los malhechores son levantados, los hombres se esconden; pero cuando la destrucción los alcanza, aumentan los justos.
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase.
