Proverbios 24
1 No tengan envidia de los hombres malvados, ni ningún deseo de estar con ellos:
Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
2 porque el propósito de sus corazones es la destrucción, y sus labios están hablando de causar problemas.
For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
3 La construcción de una casa es por sabiduría, y por la razón se fortalece:
Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
4 Y por el conocimiento, sus habitaciones están llenas de todas las cosas queridas y agradables.
And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
5 El sabio es fuerte; y un hombre de conocimiento aumenta la fortaleza.
A wise man [is] strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
6 Porque guiándote sabiamente, vencerás en la guerra; y en varios guías sabios está la victoria.
For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors [there is] safety.
7 La sabiduría está fuera del poder del insensato: mantiene su boca cerrada en el lugar público.
Wisdom [is] too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
8 Aquel cuyo propósito es malo será nombrado hombre de malos designios.
He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
9 El propósito del necio es el pecado; y el que odia a la autoridad es repugnante para los demás.
The thought of foolishness [is] sin: and the scorner [is] an abomination to men.
10 Si cedes en el día de la angustia, tu fuerza es pequeña.
[If] thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength [is] small.
11 Sé el salvador de los que son entregados a la muerte, y no retires la ayuda de aquellos que están cayendo en la destrucción.
If thou forbear to deliver [them that are] drawn unto death, and [those that are] ready to be slain;
12 Si dices: Mira, no teníamos conocimiento de esto: ¿no lo piensa el probador de corazones? y el que guarda tu alma, ¿no lo sabe? ¿Y no dará a cada hombre la recompensa de su trabajo?
If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider [it]? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth [not] he know [it]? and shall [not] he render to [every] man according to his works?
13 Hijo mío, toma miel, porque es bueno; y la miel que fluye, que es dulce a tu gusto:
My son, eat thou honey, because [it is] good; and the honeycomb, [which is] sweet to thy taste:
14 Así que deja que tu deseo sea sabiduría: si la tienes, habrá un futuro, y tu esperanza no será cortada.
So [shall] the knowledge of wisdom [be] unto thy soul: when thou hast found [it], then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
15 No hagas planes malvados, oh malhechor, contra los campos del hombre recto, o envíes destrucción sobre su lugar de reposo:
Lay not wait, O wicked [man], against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
16 Porque un hombre recto, después de haber caído siete veces, se levantará otra vez; pero los malos caerán en él mal.
For a just [man] falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
17 No te alegres por la caída de tu adversario, y no se alegre tu corazón por su caída:
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
18 Por temor de que el Señor lo vea, y pueda ser malo a sus ojos, y su ira se aleje de él.
Lest the LORD see [it], and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
19 No te preocupes por los malvados, ni tengas envidia de los pecadores:
Fret not thyself because of evil [men], neither be thou envious at the wicked;
20 Porque no habrá futuro para el malvado; la luz de los pecadores será apagada.
For there shall be no reward to the evil [man; ] the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
21 Hijo mío, teme al Señor y al rey; no tengas nada que ver con los inestables:
My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: [and] meddle not with them that are given to change:
22 porque su caída vendrá repentinamente; y ¿quién tiene conocimiento de la ruina que viene de ambos?
For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
23 Estos son más dichos de los sabios: Tener preferencia por la posición de una persona cuando se juzga no es bueno.
These [things] also [belong] to the wise. [It is] not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
24 El que dice al malvado, eres recto, será maldecido por los pueblos y aborrecido por las naciones.
He that saith unto the wicked, Thou [art] righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
25 Pero aquellos que le castigan les irá bien, y una bendición de bien vendrá sobre ellos.
But to them that rebuke [him] shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
26 Él es como si diera un beso con sus labios cuando da una respuesta correcta.
[Every man] shall kiss [his] lips that giveth a right answer.
27 Pon en orden tu trabajo afuera, y prepáralo en el campo; y después de eso, ve a la construcción de tu casa.
Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
28 No seas un testigo falso contra tu prójimo, o deja que tus labios digan falso testimonio.
Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive [not] with thy lips.
29 No digas: haré con él lo que me ha hecho; Le daré al hombre la recompensa de su trabajo.
Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
30 Fui por el campo del que odia el trabajo y por la viña del hombre sin sentido;
I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
31 Y todo estaba lleno de espinas, y cubierto de plantas deshechas, y su muro de piedra se quebró.
And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, [and] nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
32 Luego mirándolo, pensé: lo vi, y obtuve enseñanza de él.
Then I saw, [and] considered [it] well: I looked upon [it, and] received instruction.
33 Un poco de sueño, un poco de descanso, un poco de doblar las manos en el sueño:
[Yet] a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
34 Entonces la pérdida caerá sobre ti como un forajido, y tu necesidad como un hombre armado.
So shall thy poverty come [as] one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
