Proverbios 19
1 Mejor es el pobre cuyos caminos son rectos, que el hombre de riquezas cuyos caminos son torcidos.
Better is the poore that walketh in his vprightnes, then he that abuseth his lips, and is a foole.
2 Además, sin conocimiento, el deseo no es bueno; y el que actúa demasiado rápido sale del camino correcto.
For without knowledge the minde is not good, and he that hasteth with his feete, sinneth.
3 Con su comportamiento necio, los caminos del hombre se vuelven al revés, y su corazón es amargo contra el Señor.
The foolishnesse of a man peruerteth his way, and his heart freateth against the Lord.
4 La riqueza hace una gran cantidad de amigos; pero el pobre hombre hasta sus amigos lo dejan.
Riches gather many friends: but the poore is separated from his neighbour.
5 Un testigo falso no irá sin castigo, y el que habla engaño no se liberará.
A false witnes shall not be vnpunished: and he that speaketh lyes, shall not escape.
6 Grandes números intentarán obtener la aprobación de un gobernante: y cada hombre es el amigo especial de él que tiene algo que dar.
Many reuerence the face of the prince, and euery man is friend to him that giueth giftes.
7 Todos los hermanos del pobre están contra él: ¡cuánto más razón se alejan de él sus amigos!
All the brethren of the poore doe hate him: howe much more will his friends depart farre from him? though hee be instant with wordes, yet they will not.
8 El que obtiene sabiduría, tiene amor por su alma; el que tiene buen juicio obtendrá lo que es realmente bueno.
He that possesseth vnderstanding, loueth his owne soule, and keepeth wisdome to finde goodnesse.
9 Un testigo falso no irá sin castigo, y él que habla engaño será cortado.
A false witnes shall not be vnpunished: and he that speaketh lyes, shall perish.
10 La comodidad material no es buena para los tontos; mucho menos para que un sirviente sea puesto sobre gobernantes.
Pleasure is not comely for a foole, much lesse for a seruant to haue rule ouer princes.
11 El buen juicio de un hombre lo hace lento para la ira, y la ignorancia de la maldad es su gloria.
The discretion of man deferreth his anger: and his glory is to passe by an offence.
12 La ira del rey es como el fuerte clamor de un león, pero su aprobación es como el rocío sobre la hierba.
The Kings wrath is like the roaring of a lyon: but his fauour is like the dewe vpon ye grasse.
13 Un hijo necio es la destrucción de su padre; y los amargos argumentos de una esposa son como gotera sin fin.
A foolish sonne is the calamitie of his father, and the contentions of a wife are like a continuall dropping.
14 La casa y la riqueza son herencia de los padres, pero una esposa con buen sentido es del Señor.
House and riches are the inheritance of the fathers: but a prudent wife commeth of the Lord.
15 El odio al trabajo hace dormir profundamente al hombre; y el perezoso se quedará sin comida.
Slouthfulnes causeth to fall asleepe, and a deceitfull person shall be affamished.
16 El que guarda la ley guarda su alma; pero la muerte será el destino de aquel que no toma nota de la palabra.
He that keepeth the commandement, keepeth his owne soule: but hee that despiseth his wayes, shall dye.
17 El que tiene misericordia de los pobres, da al Señor, y el Señor le dará su recompensa.
He that hath mercy vpon the poore, lendeth vnto the Lord: and the Lord will recompense him that which he hath giuen.
18 Entrena a tu hijo mientras hay esperanza; no permitas que tu corazón se proponga su muerte.
Chasten thy sonne while there is hope, and let not thy soule spare for his murmuring.
19 Un hombre de gran ira tendrá que soportar su castigo; si lo sacas de la angustia, tendrás que volver a hacerlo.
A man of much anger shall suffer punishment: and though thou deliuer him, yet wil his anger come againe.
20 Deja que tu oído esté abierto a la sugerencia y tome la enseñanza, para que al final pueda ser sabio.
Heare counsell and receiue instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter ende.
21 El corazón de un hombre puede estar lleno de designios, pero el propósito del Señor no cambia.
Many deuises are in a mans heart: but the counsell of the Lord shall stand.
22 El ornamento de un hombre es su misericordia, y un hombre pobre es mejor que uno que es falso.
That that is to be desired of a man, is his goodnes, and a poore man is better then a lyer.
23 El temor del Señor da vida; y el que lo tiene no tendrá necesidad de nada; ningún mal vendrá en su camino.
The feare of the Lord leadeth to life: and he that is filled therewith, shall continue, and shall not be visited with euill.
24 El que odia el trabajo pone su mano profundamente en la vasija, y ni siquiera se la llevará a la boca otra vez.
The slouthfull hideth his hand in his bosome, and wil not put it to his mouth againe.
25 Cuando los golpes alcanzan al hombre de orgullo, lo simple tendrá sentido; pronuncia palabras de corrección al sabio, y el conocimiento se le aclarará.
Smite a scorner, and the foolish wil beware: and reproue the prudent, and he wil vnderstand knowledge.
26 El que es violento con su padre, echando a su madre de la casa, es un hijo que causa vergüenza y un mal nombre.
He that destroyeth his father, or chaseth away his mother, is a lewde and shamefull childe.
27 Un hijo que ya no presta atención a la enseñanza se aparta de las palabras del conocimiento.
My sonne, heare no more the instruction, that causeth to erre from ye words of knowledge.
28 Un testigo que no vale para nada se burla de la decisión del juez; y la boca de los malhechores envía el mal como una corriente.
A wicked witnes mocketh at iudgement, and the mouth of ye wicked swalloweth vp iniquitie.
29 Varas se están preparando para el hombre de orgullo, y azotes para la espalda de los necios.
But iudgements are prepared for the scorners, and stripes for the backe of the fooles.
