Números 11

1 Y el pueblo se quejó por la adversidad contra él Señor; y el Señor, al oírlo, se enojó y envió fuego contra ellos, quemando las partes exteriores del círculo del campamento.

Now the people complained about their troubles as Yahweh listened. Yahweh heard the people and became angry. Fire from Yahweh burned among them and consumed some of the camp on its edges.

2 Y el pueblo clamó a Moisés, y Moisés oró al Señor, y el fuego se detuvo.

Then people called out to Moses, so Moses prayed to Yahweh, and the fire stopped.

3 Así que ese lugar se llamaba Tabera, debido al fuego del Señor que había estado ardiendo entre ellos.

That place was named Taberah, because Yahweh's fire burned among them.

4 Y el grupo mixto de personas que fueron con ellos fue vencido por el deseo. y los hijos de Israel, llorando de nuevo, dijeron: ¿Quién nos dará carne por nuestra comida?

Some foreign people began to camp with Israel's descendants. They wanted better food to eat. Then the people of Israel began to weep and say, “Who will give us meat to eat?

5 Dulce es el recuerdo de los peces que teníamos en Egipto por nada, y las frutas y plantas verdes de todo tipo, afiladas y agradables al gusto:

We remember the fish that we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic.

6 Pero ahora nuestra alma se seca; no hay nada en absoluto, no tenemos nada más que este maná ante nuestros ojos.

Now our appetite is gone, because all we can see is this manna.”

7 Ahora el maná era como una semilla de grano, como pequeñas gotas claras.

Manna was like coriander seed. It looked like resin.

8 La gente comenzó a sacarla de la tierra, y la machacaban entre piedras o martillando hasta hacerla polvo, hirviéndola en ollas, e hicieron tartas: su sabor era como el sabor de las tartas cocinadas con aceite.

The people walked around and gathered it. They ground it in mills, beat it in mortars, boiled it in pots, and made it into cakes. It tasted like fresh olive oil.

9 Cuando el rocío descendió en las tiendas de campaña por la noche, el maná caía con él.

When the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna also fell.

10 Y al oír el llanto de la gente, cada hombre en la puerta de su tienda, la ira del Señor era grande, y Moisés estaba muy enojado.

Moses heard the people weeping in their families, and every man was at the entrance to his tent. Yahweh was very angry, and in Moses' eyes their complaining was wrong.

11 Entonces Moisés dijo al Señor: ¿Por qué me has hecho este mal? ¿Y por qué no tengo gracia en tus ojos, que me pusiste a cargo de toda esta gente?

Moses said to Yahweh, “Why have you treated your servant so badly? Why are you not pleased with me? You make me carry the load of all these people.

12 ¿Soy el padre de todo este pueblo? ¿Les he dado a luz, para que me digas: “Tómalos en tus brazos, como un niño en el pecho, a la tierra que diste a sus padres”?

Did I conceive all these people? Have I given them birth so that you should say to me, 'Carry them closely to your chest as a father carries a baby?' Should I carry them to the land that you swore to their ancestors to give them?

13 ¿Dónde voy a hacer carne para dar a toda esta gente? Porque ellos me lloran y dicen: Danos carne para nuestra comida.

Where can I find meat to give to all this people? They are weeping in front of me and are saying, 'Give us meat to eat.'

14 No soy capaz de soportar el peso de toda esta gente, porque es más que mi fuerza.

I cannot bear all these people alone. They are too much for me.

15 Si este va a ser mi destino, muéstrame ahora en respuesta a mi oración, si tengo gracia ante tus ojos; y no me dejes ver mi vergüenza.

Since you are treating me this way, kill me now—if I find favor in your eyes—do not let me see my misery.”

16 Entonces Jehová dijo a Moisés: Envía a setenta de los hombres responsables de Israel, que en tu opinión son hombres de autoridad sobre el pueblo; Haz que vengan a la tienda de reunión y estén allí contigo.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Bring to me seventy of Israel's elders. Be sure that they are elders and officers of the people. Bring them to the tent of meeting to stand there with you.

17 Y descenderé y hablaré contigo allí, y tomaré un poco del espíritu que está sobre ti y se lo pondré sobre ellos, y tomare parte del peso a la gente, para que Tu no tengas que llevarlo solo.

I will come down and talk with you there. I will take some of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them. They will bear the burden of the people with you. You will not have to bear it alone.

18 Dile a la gente: Purifíquense antes de mañana y tendrán carne para su comida; porque en los oídos del Señor han estado llorando y diciendo: ¿Quién nos dará carne por comida? porque estábamos bien en Egipto, y así el Señor les dará carne, y será su comida;

Say to the people, 'Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow and you will indeed eat meat, for you have wept and Yahweh has heard. You said, “Who will give us meat to eat? It was good for us in Egypt.” Therefore Yahweh will give you meat, and you will eat it.

19 No solo por un día, ni siquiera por cinco o diez o veinte días;

You will not eat meat for only one day, two days, five days, ten days, or twenty days,

20 Pero todos los días durante un mes, hasta que les salga por las narices, y les de asco: porque han ido contra el Señor que está ustedes, y has estado llorando ante él diciendo: ¿Por qué salimos de él? ¿Egipto?

but you will eat meat for a whole month until it comes out of your nostrils. It will disgust you because you have rejected Yahweh, who is among you. You have wept before him. You said, “Why did we leave Egypt?”'”

21 Entonces Moisés dijo: Las personas entre las cuales yo estoy, son seiscientos mil hombres a pie; Y tú has dicho: les daré carne para que sea su alimento durante un mes.

Then Moses said, “I am with 600,000 people, and you have said, 'I will give them meat to eat for a whole month.'

22 ¿Hay que sacrificar rebaños y manadas por ellos? ¿O todos los peces en el mar se juntarán para que estén llenos?

Should we kill flocks and herds to satisfy them? Should we catch all the fish in the sea to satisfy them?”

23 Y él Señor dijo a Moisés: ¿Se ha acortado la mano del Señor? Ahora verás si mi palabra se hace realidad para ti o no.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Is my hand short? Now you will see whether or not my word is true.”

24 Entonces Moisés salió y dio a la gente las palabras del Señor, y tomó a setenta de los hombres responsables de la gente, colocándolos alrededor de la Tienda.

Moses went out and told the people Yahweh's words. He gathered seventy of the people's elders and positioned them around the tent.

25 Entonces el Señor descendió en la nube y habló con él, y puso sobre los setenta hombres algo del espíritu que tenía sobre él: ahora que el espíritu descansaba sobre ellos, eran como profetas, pero solo En ese tiempo.

Yahweh came down in the cloud and spoke to Moses. Yahweh took some of the Spirit that was on Moses and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but only on that occasion and not again.

26 Pero dos hombres todavía estaban en el círculo de la tienda de campaña, uno de ellos llamado Eldad y el otro Medad: y el espíritu se posó sobre ellos; estaban entre los que habían sido enviados, pero no habían ido a la Tienda: y el poder del profeta llegó sobre ellos en el círculo del campamento.

Two men remained in the camp, named Eldad and Medad. The Spirit also rested on them. Their names were written on the list, but they had not gone out to the tent. Nevertheless, they prophesied in the camp.

27 Y ​​un joven fue corriendo a Moisés y dijo: Eldad y Medad están actuando como profetas en el círculo del campamento.

A young man in the camp ran and told Moses, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.”

28 Entonces Josué, el hijo de Nun, que había sido el siervo de Moisés desde joven, dijo: Señor mío Moisés, que sean detenidos.

Joshua son of Nun, Moses' assistant, one of his chosen men, said to Moses, “My master Moses, stop them.”

29 Y Moisés le dijo: ¿Ya estás celoso por mi? ¡Si solo todo el pueblo del Señor fuera profeta, y el Señor pudiera poner su espíritu sobre ellos!

Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all of Yahweh's people were prophets and that he would put his Spirit on them all!”

30 Entonces Moisés, con los hombres responsables de Israel, volvió al campamento.

Then Moses and the elders of Israel went back to the camp.

31 Entonces el Señor envió un viento, arrastrando pajaritos del mar, para que bajaran a las tiendas, y alrededor del campamento, alrededor de un día de viaje por este lado y un día de camino del otro, en masas alrededor de dos codos de altura sobre la faz de la tierra.

Then a wind came from Yahweh and brought quail from the sea. They fell near the camp, about a day's journey on one side and a day's journey on the other side. The quail surrounded the camp about two cubits above the ground.

32 Y todo ese día y toda la noche y el día siguiente, la gente tomó aves; la cantidad más pequeña que obtuvieron fueron diez montones: y los pusieron a secar alrededor de todas las tiendas.

The people were busy gathering quail all that day, all the night, and all the next day. No one gathered less than ten homers of quail. They shared the quail all through the camp.

33 Pero mientras la carne todavía estaba entre sus dientes, antes de que se probara, la ira del Señor se movió contra la gente y él envió una gran explosión de enfermedad sobre ellos.

While the meat was still between their teeth, while they were chewing it, Yahweh became angry at them. He attacked the people with a very great disease.

34 Así que ese lugar fue nombrado Kibrot-hataava; porque allí pusieron en la tierra los cuerpos de las personas que habían dado paso a sus deseos.

That place was named Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had craved meat.

35 De Kibrot-hataava la gente se fue a Hazeroth; Y allí levantaron sus tiendas.

From Kibroth Hattaavah the people traveled to Hazeroth, where they stayed.
