San Mateo 8
1 Y cuando descendió del monte, mucha gente lo siguió.
When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
2 Y vino un leproso y le dio culto, diciendo: Señor, si tú quieres, puedes limpiarme.
And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
3 Y él puso su mano sobre él, diciendo: Si quiero, se limpio; Y enseguida él leproso quedó limpio.
And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4 Y Jesús le dijo: Mira que no digas nada sobre esto a nadie; sino ve y deja que el sacerdote te vea y haga la ofrenda que fue ordenada por Moisés, para que se enteren que ya estás limpio de la enfermedad.
And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
5 Y cuando Jesús llegó a Capernaum, vino a él un cierto capitán,
And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
6 diciendo: Señor, mi siervo está enfermo en la cama, en la casa, sin poder mover su cuerpo, y con gran dolor.
And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
7 Y le dijo: Yo iré y lo sanaré.
And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
8 Y el capitán en respuesta dijo: Señor, no soy digno para que entres bajo mi techo; pero solo di la palabra, y mi siervo quedará sano.
The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9 Porque yo soy un hombre bajo autoridad, teniendo bajo mi lucha a los hombres; y le digo a éste: Ve, y él va; y a otro, ven, y él viene; y a mi sirviente, haz esto, y él lo hace.
For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10 Y cuando estas palabras llegaron a los oídos de Jesús, se sorprendió, y dijo a los que le seguían: En verdad les digo que no he visto tanta fe, ni aun en Israel.
When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
11 Y les digo que vendrán cantidades del oriente y del occidente, y tomarán asiento con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob, en el reino de los cielos.
And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12 Pero los hijos del reino serán echados en la oscuridad de afuera, y habrá llanto y crujir de dientes.
But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13 Y Jesús dijo al capitán: Ve en paz; y que se haga como has creído. Y el sirviente sano en esa misma hora.
And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
14 Y cuando Jesús entró en la casa de Pedro, vio a la madre de su esposa en la cama, muy enferma.
And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.
15 Y él puso su mano sobre la suya y la enfermedad se fue de ella, y ella se levantó y empezó a atenderlos.
And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
16 Y por la tarde, le llevaron a varias personas que tenían espíritus malignos; y él echó a los espíritus malignos con su palabra, y sanó a todos los que estaban enfermos;
When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
17 Para que la palabra del profeta Isaías se hiciese realidad: él mismo tomó nuestros dolores y nuestras enfermedades.
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
18 Ahora, cuando Jesús vio una gran multitud de gente a su alrededor, dio la orden de ir al otro lado.
Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.
19 Y vino un escriba y le dijo: Maestro, te seguiré a dondequiera que vayas.
And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
20 Y Jesús le dijo: Las zorras tienen guaridas, y las aves del cielo tienen un lugar para descansar; pero el Hijo del Hombre no tiene dónde poner su cabeza.
And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
21 Y otro de los discípulos le dijo: Señor, déjame ir primero y entierre mi padre.
And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
22 Pero Jesús le dijo: Sígueme; y deja que los muertos cuiden a sus muertos.
But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
23 Y cuando subió a una barca, sus discípulos lo siguieron.
And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
24 Y subió una gran tormenta en el mar, y la barca se cubrió de las olas; pero él estaba durmiendo.
And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
25 Y vinieron a él, y le despertaron, y dijeron: Socorro, Señor; sálvanos que perecemos.
And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
26 Y él les dijo: ¿Por qué están llenos de temor, hombres de poca fe? Luego se levantó y dio órdenes a los vientos y al mar; y hubo una gran calma.
And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
27 Y los hombres se llenaron de asombro, diciendo: ¿Qué clase de hombre es este, que hasta los vientos y el mar cumplen sus órdenes?
But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
28 Y cuando llegó al otro lado, a la tierra de los Gadarenos, le salió del lugar de los muertos, dos que tenían espíritus malignos, tan violentos que nadie podía ir por ese camino.
And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
29 Y clamaron fuerte, diciendo: ¿Qué tenemos que ver contigo, Hijo de Dios? ¿Has venido aquí para darnos el castigo antes de tiempo?
And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
30 Ahora, a cierta distancia, había una gran manada de cerdos tomando su comida.
And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.
31 Y los espíritus malignos le rogaron fuerte, diciendo: Si nos echas, permítenos ir a la manada de cerdos.
So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
32 Y él les dijo: vayan. Y salieron y entraron en los cerdos; y la manada se precipitó por una pendiente que daba hacia el mar y ahí se ahogaron.
And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
33 Y sus guardianes fueron en fuga a la ciudad y dieron cuenta de todo, y de los hombres que tenían espíritus malignos.
And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.
34 Y todo el pueblo salió a Jesús; y al verlo le pidieron que se fuera de sus alrededores.
And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
