Marcos 2
1 Y cuando volvió a Capernaúm después de algunos días, se supo que estaba en la casa.
After some days He entered Capernaum again, and it soon became known that He was at home;
2 Y un gran número se había unido, de modo que ya no había lugar para ellos, ni siquiera a la puerta; y les dio enseñanza.
and such numbers of people came together that there was no longer room for them even round the door. He was speaking His Message to them,
3 Y cuatro hombres vinieron a él con un paralítico en una camilla.
when there came a party of people bringing a paralytic--four men carrying him.
4 Y como no pudieron acercarse a él por causa de toda la gente, removieron parte del techo donde estaba; y cuando se rompió, bajaron la camilla sobre la cual estaba el hombre.
Finding themselves unable, however, to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they untiled the roof just over His head, and after clearing an opening they lowered the mat on which the paralytic was lying.
5 Y viendo Jesús su fe, le dijo: Hijo, tú tienes perdón de tus pecados.
Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, "My son, your sins are pardoned."
6 Pero hubo algunos de los escribas sentados allí, y razonando en sus corazones,
Now there were some of the Scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts.
7 ¿Por qué dice esto el hombre tales cosas? él no tiene respeto por Dios: ¿de quién viene el perdón sino de Dios solamente?
"Why does this man use such words?" they said; "he is blaspheming. Who can pardon sins but One--that is, God?"
8 Y Jesús, teniendo conocimiento en su espíritu de sus pensamientos, les dijo: ¿Por qué piensan y meditan de estas cosas en sus corazones?
At once perceiving by His spirit that they were reasoning within themselves, Jesus asked them, "Why do you thus argue in your minds?
9 ¿Que es más fácil decirle a un hombre que está enfermo, tienes perdón por tus pecados, o, levántate, toma tu camilla, y vete?
Which is easier?--to say to this paralytic, 'Your sins are pardoned,' or to say, 'Rise, take up your mat, and walk?'
10 Pero para que vean que el Hijo del Hombre tiene autoridad para el perdón de los pecados en la tierra, (dijo al hombre),
But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to pardon sins" --He turned to the paralytic, and said,
11 Yo te digo: Levántate, toma tu camilla, y ve a tu casa.
"To you I say, 'Rise, take up your mat and go home.'"
12 Y él se levantó, y enseguida levantó la camilla y salió delante de todos, y todos estaban maravillados, y dieron gloria a Dios, diciendo: Nunca hemos visto algo como esto.
The man rose, and immediately under the eyes of all took up his mat and went out, so that they were all filled with astonishment, gave the glory to God, and said, "We never saw anything like this."
13 Y salió a la otra orilla del mar; y todo el pueblo vino a él, y él les dio enseñanza.
Again He went out to the shore of the Lake, and the whole multitude kept coming to Him, and He taught them.
14 Y cuando pasó, vio a Leví, hijo de Alfeo, sentado en el lugar donde se hacían los impuestos, y le dijo: Ven conmigo. Y él se levantó y fue con él.
And as He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the Toll Office, and said to him, "Follow me." So he rose and followed Him.
15 Y aconteció que él estaba sentado a la mesa comiendo en casa de Leví, y había muchos recaudadores de impuestos y pecadores a la mesa con Jesús y sus discípulos; porque había un gran número de ellos, y vinieron después de él.
When He was sitting at table in Levi's house, a large number of tax-gatherers and notorious sinners were at table with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many such who habitually followed Him.
16 Y los escribas de los Fariseos, viendo que comía con los recaudadores de impuestos y con los pecadores, dijeron a sus discípulos: ¿Por qué toma comida y bebida con tales hombres?
But when the Scribes of the Pharisee sect saw Him eating with the sinners and the tax-gatherers, they said to His disciples, "He is eating and drinking with the tax-gatherers and sinners!"
17 Y Jesús, oyéndolo, les dijo: Los que están bien no tienen necesidad de un médico, sino los que están enfermos: no he venido para levantar a los rectos, sino a los pecadores.
Jesus heard the words, and He said, "It is not the healthy who require a doctor, but the sick: I did not come to appeal to the righteous, but to sinners."
18 Y los discípulos de Juan y los fariseos estaban en ayuno; vinieron y le dijeron: ¿Por qué los discípulos de Jesús y los fariseos ayunan, y tus discípulos no?
(Now John's disciples and those of the Pharisees were keeping a fast.) And they came and asked Him, "How is it that John's disciples and those of the Pharisees are fasting, and yours are not?"
19 Y Jesús les dijo: ¿Pueden los amigos de un recién casado estar en ayuno mientras él está con ellos? mientras lo tengan con ellos los invitados no pueden ayunar.
"Can a wedding party fast while the bridegroom is among them?" replied Jesus. "So long as they have the bridegroom with them, fasting is impossible.
20 Pero vendrán días en que se les quitará el marido, y entonces vendrá el tiempo de ayunar.
But a time will come when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast.
21 Ningún hombre pone un trozo de tela nueva en un abrigo viejo; o lo nuevo, al apartarse de lo viejo, hace un agujero peor.
No one mends an old garment with a piece of unshrunk cloth. Otherwise, the patch put on would tear away from it--the new from the old--and a worse hole would be made.
22 Y nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos; porque el vino romperá las pieles, y el vino y las pieles se desperdiciaron; más el vino nuevo se debe poner en odres nuevos.
And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise the wine would burst the skins, and both wine and skins would be lost. New wine needs fresh skins!"
23 Y sucedió que en el día de reposo él estaba yendo a través de los campos de grano; y mientras caminaban, sus discípulos empezaron a arrancar espigas.
One Sabbath He was walking through the wheatfields when His disciples began to pluck the ears of wheat as they went.
24 Y los fariseos le dijeron: ¿Por qué están haciendo lo que no es correcto hacer en sábado?
So the Pharisees said to Him, "Look! why are they doing what on the Sabbath is unlawful?"
25 Y él les dijo: ¿Nunca han leído lo que hizo David cuando tenía necesidad y estaba sin comida, él y los que estaban con él?
"Have you never read," Jesus replied, "what David did when the necessity arose and he and his men were hungry:
26 ¿Cómo entró en la casa de Dios cuando Abiatar era sumo sacerdote, y tomó para comer el pan santo, que sólo los sacerdotes podían tomar, y lo dio a los que estaban con él?
how he entered the house of God in the High-priesthood of Abiathar, and ate the Presented Loaves--which none but the priests are allowed to eat--and gave some to his men also?"
27 Y les dijo: El sábado fue hecho para el hombre, y no el hombre para el sábado;
And Jesus said to them: "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath;
28 De modo que el Hijo del hombre es señor aun del sábado.
so that the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."
