Marcos 12
1 Y les dio enseñanza en forma de historias. Un hombre plantó un viñedo, lo tapó con una pared, e hizo un lugar para aplastar el vino, y levantó una torre, y lo rento a los trabajadores del campo, y se fue a otro país.
Presently Jesus began to speak to them in parables. "There was once a man," he said, "who planted a vineyard, put a fence around it, dug a pit for the wine-press, built a tower, rented it to tenants, and went abroad.
2 Y cuando llegó el momento, envió un siervo para obtener de los obreros parte del fruto del huerto.
At vintage-time he sent a slave to the vine-dressers to collect some of the proceeds of the vineyard;
3 Y ellos lo tomaron, y le dieron golpes, y lo enviaron con las manos vacías.
but they seized him, and flogged him, and sent him away empty-handed.
4 Y otra vez les envió a otro siervo; y lo apedrearon y lo hirieron en la cabeza, lo insultaron y lo avergonzaron.
Then he sent another slave to them; and this man they knocked over the head and handled shamefully.
5 Y envió otro; y lo mataron, y otros muchos, azotando a algunos y matando a algunos.
And he sent another; and him they killed; and many others; beating some, and killing some.
6 Todavía tenía uno, un hijo amado: lo envió por última vez a ellos, diciendo: Tendrán respeto por mi hijo.
He had still one, a Son beloved, He sent him last to them, saying, "‘They will reverence my Son.’
7 Pero los obreros dijeron entre sí: Este es el que algún día será el dueño de la propiedad; ven, vamos a matarlo, y la herencia será nuestra.
"But those tenants said to themselves. ‘Here is the heir! Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’
8 Y lo tomaron y lo mataron, empujando su cuerpo fuera del viñedo.
"So they took him and killed him, and threw his body out of the vineyard.
9 ¿Qué hará el señor del viñedo? Él vendrá y matará a los obreros, y dará el viñedo a otros.
What will the owner of the Vineyard do?" "He will come and put the tenants to death," they said, "and will give the vineyard to others."
10 ¿No has visto lo que está escrito en las Escrituras? La piedra que los constructores desecharon, fue la principal piedra del edificio.
"Have you not read this Scripture?" (he continued) "The very stone which the builders rejected Has now become the corner-stone;
11 Esto fue obra del Señor, ¿y es cosa maravillosa a nuestros ojos?
This is the Lord’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes."
12 E hicieron intentos de arrestarlo; pero tenían miedo de la gente, porque vieron que la historia era contra ellos; y se alejaron de él.
And they kept seeking to lay hold on him, but were afraid of the crowd, for they knew well that he had spoken this parable about them; so they left him and went away.
13 Entonces le enviaron algunos de los fariseos y los herodianos, para que pudieran usar sus palabras para engañarlo.
But they sent some of the Pharisees to Jesus afterward, and some of the Herodians to entrap him in conversation.
14 Y cuando hubieron venido, le dijeron: Maestro, estamos seguros de que eres veraz, y no tienes temor de nadie; no tienes respeto por la posición de un hombre, sino que estás enseñando el verdadero camino de Dios: ¿Es derecho a dar impuestos a César o no?
So when they came, they said. "Teacher, we know that you are sincere and are not afraid of any one, for you do not regard the face of men; nay, but you reach the way of God in truth. Is it right to pay poll- tax to Caesar or not?
15 ¿Debemos dar o no dar? Pero él, consciente de sus falsos corazones, les dijo: ¿Por qué me pones a prueba? dame un centavo, para que pueda verlo.
Shall we pay, or not pay?" But he, knowing well their hypocrisy, said to them. "Why are you testing me? Bring me a dollar for me to look at."
16 Y le dieron uno. Y él les dijo: ¿De quién es esta imagen y nombre? Y ellos le dijeron a él, de César.
And they brought it. "Whose likeness and inscription is this?" "Caesar’s," they answered.
17 Y Jesús les dijo: Da a César lo que es de César, y a Dios lo que es de Dios. Y estaban llenos de admiración por él.
And Jesus said, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God, the things that are God’s." They were amazed at him.
18 Y vinieron a él los saduceos, que dicen que no no hay resurrección; y le hicieron una pregunta, diciendo:
Then came up some Sadducees, men who say there is no resurrection. They too questioned him, saying.
19 Maestro, según la ley, Moisés dice: Si el hermano de un hombre muere, y tiene una esposa que aún vive y no dejó hijos, es correcto que su hermano tome a su esposa, y levante una descendencia para su hermano.
"Teacher, Moses taught us that if a man’s brother die, and leave a wife behind him, but no child, that his brother is to marry the widow and to raise up a family for his brother.
20 Había siete hermanos; y el primero tomó mujer, y murió y no hubo descendencia;
There were once seven brothers, the eldest of whom married a wife, and died leaving no family.
21 Y el segundo la tomó, y murió y no hubo descendencia; y el tercero pasó lo mismo:
The second married her, and died without offspring; the third likewise;
22 Y los siete no dejaron descendencia. Por último, la mujer misma murió.
and the seven had her, and died without issue.
23 En la resurrección, ¿de quién será ella esposa? porque los siete la tenían por esposa.
And last of all the woman too died. In the resurrection whose wife shall she be? For the seven had her as wife."
24 Jesús les dijo: ¿No es esta la razón de su error, que no conocen las Sagradas Escrituras ni el poder de Dios?
"Is not this the reason for your error," Jesus answered them, "that you know not the Scripture nor the power of God?
25 Cuando resuciten de los muertos, no se casarán ni se darán en casamiento, sino que son como los ángeles en el cielo.
When they rise from the dead men do not marry, and women are not given in marriage, but they are as the angels are in heaven.
26 Pero en cuanto a los muertos que vuelven a la vida; ¿No has visto en el libro de Moisés, acerca del árbol ardiente, cómo Dios le dijo: Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob?
But in regard to the rising again of the dead, have you never read in the Book of Moses, in the passage about the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, "I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27 Él no es el Dios de los muertos, sino Dios de los vivos; estás en gran error.
God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are in grave error."
28 Y vino uno de los escribas, y oyendo su discusión, y viendo que les había dado una buena respuesta, formuló la pregunta: ¿Cuál es el primer mandamiento de todos?
Just then up came one of the Scribes who had heard them arguing, and realized that Jesus had answered them admirably. "What commandment," he asked, "is the first of all?"
29 Respondió Jesús y dijo: El primero es: Escucha, Israel: Él Señor nuestro Dios, él Señor uno es;
Jesus replied. "The first is. "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord;
30 Y amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente, y con todas tus fuerzas.
and thou shalt love the Lord thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength.
31 El segundo es este: Ten amor por tu prójimo como por ti mismo. No hay otro mandamiento más grande que estos.
"The second is this, "Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself. Other command greater than these there is none."
32 Y el escriba le dijo: En verdad, Maestro, bien has dicho que él es uno, y no hay otro más que él:
"Admirably said, O Teacher," exclaimed the Scribe. "You have truthfully said that He is one,
33 Y el amarle con todo el corazón, y con toda la mente, y con todo la fuerza, y tener el mismo amor por su prójimo que por sí mismo, es mucho más que todas de ofrendas sacrificios.
and that beside him there is none other, and to love him with all one’s heart and with all one’s understanding and with all one’s might, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself is far beyond all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."
34 Y viendo Jesús que había respondido sabiamente, le dijo: No estás lejos del reino de Dios. Y cada hombre después de eso tenía miedo de cuestionarlo más.
Jesus saw that he had answered with discrimination, and said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." After that no one ventured to question him.
35 Y Jesús, cuando estaba enseñando en el Templo, dijo: ¿Cómo dicen los escribas que el Cristo es el Hijo de David?
While he was teaching in the Temple courts, Jesus in his turn asked. "How is it that the Scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?
36 David mismo dijo en el Espíritu Santo: Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Siéntate a mi diestra, Hasta que ponga tus enemigos como estrado de tus pies.
David himself said in the Holy Spirit, "The Lord said to my Lord,’Sit at my right hand until I make thy foes the footstool of thy feet.’
37 David mismo le dio el nombre de Señor; y ¿cómo es que él es su hijo? Y la gente común le escuchaba con gusto.
"David himself then calls him Lord; so how can he be his son?" Now the great mass of the people were wont to listen to him with delight;
38 Y en su enseñanza dijo: cuídense de los escribas, cuya complacencia es andar en túnicas largas y ser respetados en los mercados,
and in his teaching he said. "Look out for the Scribes who like to walk about in long robes, and to receive salutations in the street, and to have prominent places in the synagogues,
39 Y tener los asientos principales en las sinagogas y los primeros lugares en banquetes;
and seats of honor at dinner-parties;
40 Quienes quitan la propiedad de las viudas, y ante los ojos de los hombres hacen largas oraciones; estos serán juzgados más difícilmente.
they who consume the property of widows and make long, pretentious prayers. The greater shall their condemnation be."
41 Y se sentó junto al lugar donde se guardaba el dinero, y vio cómo la gente ponía dinero en los cofres; y muchos ricos echaban mucho dinero.
Then Jesus took his seat opposite the treasury and watched the people putting their offerings into the chest. Many rich people were putting in large sums.
42 Y vino una viuda pobre, y ella puso dos piezas de dinero, que son un cuarto, del valor de una moneda.
There came also a poor widow who dropped in two little coins, worth a cent.
43 E hizo venir a sus discípulos a él, y les dijo: En verdad les digo que esta viuda pobre ha puesto más que todos los que están poniendo dinero en la caja:
On this he called his disciples to him, and said. "I tell you solemnly that this poor widow has put in more than all who have put their offerings into the treasury;
44 Porque todos pusieron algo de lo que les sobra; pero ella, por su necesidad, puso todo lo que tenía, todo su sustento.
for they have all put in what they could spare out of their surplus, but she, out of her penury, has put in all that she possessed, her whole living."
