San Lucas 4
1 Y Jesús, lleno del Espíritu Santo, regresó del Jordán, y fue guiado por el Espíritu al desierto
Then Jesus, full of Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2 Durante cuarenta días, siendo tentado por el diablo. Y él no tenía comida en aquellos días; y cuando llegaron a su fin, tuvo hambre.
where He was tested for forty days by the devil. He ate nothing at all during those days, so after they were completed He was hungry.
3 Y el diablo le dijo: Si eres el Hijo de Dios, ordena a esta piedra que se convierta en pan.
So the devil said to Him, “Since you are Son of God, tell this stone to become bread!”
4 Y Jesús le respondió: En las Escrituras dice: El pan no es la única necesidad del hombre, sino toda palabra de Dios.
Jesus answered him saying, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”
5 Y lo tomó él diablo y le permitió ver todos los reinos de la tierra en un minuto de tiempo.
And taking Him up on a high mountain, the devil showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 Y el diablo dijo: Te daré autoridad sobre todos estos, y la gloria de ellos, porque me ha sido dado, y se lo doy a cualquiera que yo desee.
The devil said to Him: “To you I will give all this authority, and their glory, because it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I want to.
7 Si te arrodillas y me adorares, todo será tuyo.
So you, if you would worship before me, all will be yours.”
8 Y Jesús, respondiendo, le dijo: Vete de mí satanás, Está dicho en los Escrituras: Al Señor tu Dios adora, y a él solo servirás.
In answer Jesus said to him: “Get behind me, Satan! It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve!’”
9 Y lo llevó a Jerusalén, y lo puso en el lugar más alto del Templo, y le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, desciende de aquí; porque está escrito en los Escrituras,
He also took Him to Jerusalem and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him: “Since you are Son of God, throw yourself down from here;
10 Él ordenará a sus ángeles que cuiden de ti:
because it is written, ‘He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you,’
11 Y en sus manos te mantendrán arriba, para que tu pie no tropiece contra una piedra.
and, ‘They will carry you along on their hands, so you do not stub your foot on a stone.’”
12 Entonces Jesús respondió, y le dijo: Está dicho en las Escrituras: No pongas a prueba al Señor tu Dios.
In answer Jesus said to him: “The statement stands, ‘You shall not test the Lord your God!’”
13 Y cuando todas estas pruebas terminaron, el diablo se alejó de él por un tiempo.
Having finished every test, the devil departed from Him until an opportune time.
14 Y Jesús regresó a Galilea en el poder del Espíritu, y las noticias de él pasaron por toda la tierra alrededor.
Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about Him spread throughout the whole surrounding area;
15 Y él enseñaba en sus sinagogas, y todos los hombres lo glorificaban.
yes, He started teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
16 Y vino a Nazaret, donde había estado de niño, y se fue, conforme a su costumbre, a la sinagoga en sábado, el día de reposo, y se levantó para dar una lectura.
So He came to Natsareth, where He had been brought up; as was His custom He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
17 Y el libro del profeta Isaías le fue dado y, abriendo el libro, vino al lugar donde dice,
The book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him, so unrolling the scroll He found the place where it was written:
18 El Espíritu del Señor está sobre mí, por cuanto me ha ungido para dar buenas nuevas a los pobres; él me ha enviado para sanar a los que tienen el corazón roto; para pregonar libertad a los cautivos, y los ciegos verán, y poner en libertad, a los oprimidos;
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to evangelize poor people. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to captives and recovery of sight to blind people, to send those who are oppressed out in freedom,
19 Para predicar el año aceptable del Señor.
to proclaim the Lord's favorable year.”
20 Y enrollando el libro, lo devolvió al ministro y se sentó; y todos los ojos de la sinagoga estaban fijos en él.
Then, having rolled up the scroll and returned it to the attendant, He sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on Him,
21 Entonces él les dijo: Hoy esta palabra se ha cumplido delante de ustedes.
and He began by saying to them, “Today, this Scripture in your ears has been fulfilled.”
22 Y todos ellos dieron testimonio, maravillados, de las palabras de gracia que salían de su boca, y dijeron: ¿No es éste el hijo de José?
(All were bearing witness to Him and were marveling at the gracious words that were coming out of His mouth; and they started saying, “Isn't this the son of Joseph?”)
23 Y les dijo: Sin duda me dirán: este refrán: médico cúrate a ti mismo; de tantas cosas que hemos oído que hiciste en Capernaum, haz también aquí en tu tierra.
He said to them: “Doubtless you will quote this parable to me: ‘Physician, heal yourself!’—do here in your hometown the things we have heard were done in Capernaum.”
24 Y él les dijo: De cierto les digo que ningún profeta es honrado en su tierra.
Then He said: “Assuredly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown.
25 De cierto les digo, que había muchas viudas en Israel en los días de Elías, cuando el cielo estuvo cerrado por tres años y seis meses, y no había alimento en la tierra;
Further, I can assure you that there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut for three years and six months and a severe famine came over all the land;
26 Pero Elías no fue enviado a ninguno de ellos, sino a Sarepta, en la tierra de Sidón, a una mujer viuda.
yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow woman in Sarepta, near Sidon.
27 Y había un número de leprosos en Israel en el tiempo del profeta Eliseo, y ninguno de ellos fue limpiado, sino solo Naamán el sirio.
And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, yet not one of them was cleansed—just Naaman the Syrian.”
28 Y todos los que estaban en la sinagoga se enojaron mucho cuando les dijeron estas cosas.
Well, upon hearing these things everyone in the synagogue was filled with fury,
29 Y ellos se levantaron y lo sacaron de la ciudad, hasta la cumbre a la orilla del monte donde estaba edificado su pueblo, para empujarlo y enviarlo a la muerte.
and rising up they drove Him out of the town and took Him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw Him off the cliff.
30 Pero él pasó por en medio de ellos y siguió su camino.
But He, passing through the middle of them, went on His way.
31 Y descendió a Capernaúm, ciudad de Galilea; y él les estaba dando enseñanza en el día de reposo.
Then He went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee; He started teaching them on the Sabbaths.
32 Y se sorprendieron de su enseñanza, porque su palabra era con autoridad.
They kept on being amazed at His teaching, because His word was with authority.
33 Y había un hombre en la sinagoga que tenía un espíritu inmundo; y él lanzó un gran grito y dijo:
Now in the synagogue was a man having a spirit of an unclean demon; he cried out with a loud voice
34 ¡Déjenos! ¿Qué tenemos que ver contigo, Jesús de Nazaret? has venido a poner fin a nosotros? Yo te conozco quién eres, el Santo de Dios.
saying: “Ugh! What do you want with us, Jesus of Natsareth? Did you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God!”
35 Y Jesús le dijo: Cállate, y sal de él. Y cuando el espíritu inmundo derribandolo en la tierra en medio de ellos, salió de él, sin hacerle daño.
So Jesus rebuked him saying, “Be muzzled, and get out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down in the midst, it came out of him without harming him.
36 Y se maravillaron todos ellos, y se dijeron unos a otros: ¿Qué son estas palabras? que con autoridad y poder da órdenes a los espíritus inmundos y ellos salen.
Everyone was taken with amazement and they started conversing together, saying: “What is this word! For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”
37 Y se habló mucho de él en todos los lugares de alrededor.
And the news about Him started going out to every place of the surrounding region.
38 Entonces Jesús se levantó, y salió de la sinagoga, y entró en la casa de Simón. Y la madre de la esposa de Simón estaba muy enferma con fiebre; y le pidieron que la ayudara,
Then He left the synagogue and entered Simon's house. But Simon's mother-in-law was suffering with a high fever, and they requested Him on her behalf.
39 Se acercó a ella y, reprendió a la fiebre; y la fiebre la dejó; y de inmediato se levantó y se hizo cargo de sus necesidades.
So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. Immediately she got up and began to serve them.
40 Y a la puesta del sol todos los que tenían a alguien enfermo con algún tipo de enfermedad, se los llevaron a él, y les puso las manos encima a cada uno de ellos y los sanó.
Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on each one of them and healed them.
41 Y algunos espíritus malos salieron de ellos, dando voces y diciendo: Tú eres el Hijo de Dios. Pero les dio órdenes precisas de no decir una palabra, porque sabían que él era el Cristo.
Moreover, demons came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” But rebuking them He would not allow them to continue speaking, because they knew that He was the Messiah.
42 Y cuando fue de día, salió y fue a un lugar desierto; y grandes cantidades de personas vinieron a buscarlo, y acudieron a él y lo detenían para que no se fuera de ellos.
Now at daybreak He departed and went to a deserted place; so the crowds started looking for Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them.
43 Pero él les dijo: Tengo que dar las buenas nuevas del reino de Dios en otras ciudades, porque para esto he sido enviado.
But He said to them, “I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other towns also, because for this purpose I have been sent.”
44 Y él estaba enseñando en las sinagogas de Galilea.
So He went preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
