San Lucas 21
1 Y mirando hacia arriba, vio a los hombres de la riqueza poniendo sus ofrendas en la caja de dinero.
And he looked up, and saw the rich throwing their gifts into the treasury.
2 Y vio a cierta viuda pobre que puso dos centavos.
And he saw also a certain poor widow throw in thither two mites.
3 Y él dijo: De cierto les digo, que esta viuda pobre ha dado más que todos ellos,
And he said: Of a truth, I say to you, that this poor widow has thrown in more than they all.
4 Porque dieron de sus riquezas, teniendo más que suficiente para sí; pero ella, aun por su necesidad, ha dado todo lo que tiene.
For all these, from their abundance, have thrown in among the gifts of God; but she, from her poverty, has thrown in all the living that she had.
5 Y algunos estaban hablando acerca del Templo, de los hermosos adornos, decorado con hermosas piedras y ofrendas, pero él dijo:
And as some were saying of the temple, that it was adorned with beautiful stones and offerings, he said:
6 En cuanto a estas cosas que ves, vendrán días en que ninguna piedra reposará sobre otra, sino todo será destruido.
As for these things which you see, the days will come in which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
7 Y le dijeron: Maestro, ¿cuándo serán estas cosas? y ¿qué señal habrá cuando estos eventos tengan lugar?
And they asked him, saying: Teacher, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign when these things come to pass?
8 Y él dijo: Cuídate de no ser engañado; porque vendrán muchas personas en mi nombre, diciendo: Yo soy el Cristo; y, el tiempo está cerca: no vayas tras ellos.
He replied: Take heed that you be not deceived; for many will come in my name, saying: I am he; and, The time is near. Go not, therefore, after them.
9 Y cuando lleguen a tus oídos noticias de guerras y tiempos difíciles, no temas; porque estas cosas tienen que ser, pero el final no será inmediato.
But when you hear of wars, and tumults, be not terrified; for these things must first take place; but the end comes not immediately.
10 Entonces él les dijo: Nación peleará contra nación y reino contra reino;
Then he said to them: Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom;
11 Habrá grandes terremotos de tierra y hambrunas y enfermedades en varios lugares; y habrá terror y grandes señales del cielo.
and there shall be great earthquakes in various places, and famines, and pestilences; and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.
12 Pero antes de todo esto, te arrestaran y serán perseguidos, entregándote a las sinagogas y a las cárceles, llevándote ante reyes y gobernantes, a causa de mi nombre.
But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues, and into prisons, after being brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake.
13 Y se convertirá en una oportunidad para dar testimonio de mi.
But this shall become to you the means of bearing testimony.
14 Así que ten cuidado de no preocuparte antes de que llegue el momento, acerca de qué respuestas darás:
Therefore, determine in your hearts not to meditate beforehand what you shall answer;
15 Porque yo te daré palabras y sabiduría, para que ninguno de los que están en tu contra te pueda vencer, o contradecir en nada.
for I will give you a mouth, and wisdom, which all your opposers shall not be able to gainsay or withstand.
16 Pero tus padres y madres, tus hermanos, tus parientes y tus amigos te abandonarán; y algunos de ustedes serán asesinados.
But you will be delivered up by parents and brothers and relatives and friends; and some of you they will put to death;
17 Y serás aborrecido por todos los hombres, por mi culpa.
and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake.
18 Pero ni un pelo de tu cabeza vendrá a la destrucción.
Yet a hair of your head shall not perish.
19 Al pasar por todas estas cosas, por su paciencia mantendrás tus vidas.
By your patient endurance, preserve your lives.
20 Pero cuando vean ejércitos alrededor de Jerusalén, entonces tengan la certeza de que su destrucción está cerca.
But when you shall see Jerusalem besieged by armies, then know that its desolation is near.
21 Entonces los que están en Judea huyan a las montañas; y aquellos que están en el medio de la ciudad salgan; y los que están en el campo no entren en ella.
Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let those who are in the midst of it, withdraw from it. Let those who are in the count try, not come within it.
22 Porque estos son los días del castigo, en que todas las cosas en las Escrituras serán cumplidas.
For these are the days of vengeance, that all things that are written may be fulfilled.
23 Será difícil para las mujeres que están encintas, y para ella con un bebé que amamanta, en esos días. Porque habrá gran miseria y calamidad en la tierra e ira en contra de este pueblo.
But alas for them that are with child, and for them that give suck in those days! for there shall be great distress upon the land, and wrath upon this people.
24 Y serán muertos a espada, y serán tomados por prisioneros en todas las naciones; y Jerusalén será destruida bajo los pies de los gentiles, hasta que los tiempos de los gentiles sean completos.
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive among all nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, till the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 Y habrá señales en el sol, la luna y las estrellas; y en la tierra, miedo entre las naciones y duda a causa del fuerte ruido del mar y las olas;
And there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon and in the stars; and on the earth, distress of nations in perplexity; the sea and its waves roaring;
26 La fortaleza de los hombres se vendrá abajo y serán llenos de temor de ver y esperando las cosas que vendrán sobre la tierra; porque los poderes de los cielos serán conmovidos.
men’s hearts failing on account of the fearful expectation of the things that are coming on the land; for the hosts of the heavens shall be shaken.
27 Y entonces verán al Hijo del Hombre que vendrá en una nube, con poder y gran gloria.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 Pero cuando esto ocurra, alcen sus cabezas, porque su salvación está cerca.
When these things begin to take place, look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near.
29 Y les contó una historia: Miren la higuera y todos los árboles;
And he spoke a parable to them: See the fig-tree, and all the trees;
30 Cuando sacan sus hojas tiernas, tomen nota de ello, y les queda claro que se acerca el verano.
when they now put forth leaves, you see, and know of yourselves that summer is near.
31 De la misma manera, cuando veas que estas cosas suceden, puedes estar seguro de que el reino de Dios está cerca.
So likewise, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near.
32 En verdad te digo, esta generación no llegará a su fin hasta que todas las cosas estén completas.
Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass away till all be fulfilled.
33 El cielo y la tierra llegarán a su fin, pero mis palabras no llegarán a su fin.
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
34 Pero presten atención a ustedes mismos, por temor a que sus corazones se llenen de los placeres de la comida y el vino, y los afanes de esta vida, y ese día pueda venir repentinamente, y tomarlos como en una red:
And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts become heavy with reveling and drunkenness and the cares of life, and that day come upon you when you look not for it.
35 Entonces vendrá sobre todos aquellos que están viviendo sobre la faz de toda la tierra.
For as a snare, it shall come on all that dwell on the face of all the land.
36 Pero velen en todo momento con oración, para que puedan ser contados dignos de escapar de todas cosas que van a suceder y de presentarse delante del Hijo del hombre.
Watch, therefore, and pray at all times, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
37 Y cada día enseñaba en el Templo y todas las noches salía a la montaña que se llama la Montaña de los Olivos para descansar.
And in the day-time he was teaching in the temple. But he went out and passed the nights in the mount called the mount of Olives.
38 Y toda la gente llegó temprano en la mañana para escuchar sus palabras en el Templo.
And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, in order to hear him.
