San Lucas 11
1 Y sucedió que estaba orando en cierto lugar, y cuando llegó a su fin, uno de sus discípulos le dijo: Señor, enséñanos a orar, como Juan enseñó a sus discípulos.
And as He was praying in a certain retired place, as soon as He had done, one of his disciples said to Him, Lord, teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples.
2 Y les dijo: Cuando oren, digan: Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, que tu nombre sea santificado y venga tu reino. Hágase tu voluntad como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.
And He said unto them, when ye pray, say, "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done as in heaven so also upon earth;
3 El pan nuestro de cada día dánoslo hoy.
give us day by day our daily bread; and forgive us our sins,
4 Y Perdónanos nuestros pecados, porque también nosotros perdonamos a todos los que nos ofenden. Y no nos metas en tentación, mas líbranos del mal.
for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."
5 Y él les dijo también: ¿Quién de ustedes, teniendo un amigo, iría a él a la media noche y le dirá: Amigo, préstame tres panes;
And He said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go to him at midnight, and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine on his journey is come to me,
6 Porque un amigo mío vino a mí de viaje, y no tengo nada que poner delante de él;
and I have nothing to set before him:
7 Y él, desde el interior de la casa, respondería: No me molestes; la puerta ahora está cerrada, y mis hijos están conmigo en la cama; no me es posible levantarme y darte.
and he from within shall answer and say, Do not be troublesome; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed, I cannot rise to give thee.
8 Te digo, que aunque no se levante a dárselos, por ser su amigo, sin embargo por su importunidad, se levantará y le dará todo lo que necesite.
I tell you, tho' he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend: yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he wants.
9 Y yo les digo: Pidan, y se les dará; busquen, lo encontrarán; llamen a la puerta y se les abrirá.
And so I tell you, Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you.
10 Porque a todos los que piden, se les dará; y el que busca halla; y al que llama, se le abrirá.
For every one that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11 ¿Y quién de ustedes, siendo padre, dará una piedra a su hijo, que pide pan? o por un pez, le dará una serpiente?
If a son ask bread of any father among you, will he give him a stone? and if he ask for a fish, will he instead of a fish give him a serpent? or if he ask for an egg,
12 O por un huevo, le dará un escorpión?
will he give him a scorpion?
13 Si, entonces, ustedes que son malos, pueden dar cosas buenas a sus hijos, ¿cuánto más dará su Padre en los cielos el Espíritu Santo a los que le piden?
If ye then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the holy Spirit to them that ask Him?
14 Y estaba Jesús echando fuera un demonio, que era mudo. Y sucedió que cuando el espíritu se fue, el hombre mudo pudo hablar; y la gente estaba maravillada.
And He was casting out a demon, and it was dumb: and when the demon was gone out, the dumb man spake; and the people wondered.
15 Pero algunos de ellos dijeron: Él echa fuera los demonios por Beelzebu, el gobernante de los espíritus malignos.
But some of them said, He casteth out demons by Beelzebub the prince of demons:
16 Y otros, probándolo, estaban buscando una señal del cielo de él.
and others, to try Him, desired of Him a sign from heaven.
17 Pero él, conociendo sus pensamientos, les dijo: Todo reino en que hay división es destruido; y una casa en la cual hay división viene a la destrucción.
But He who well knew their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself becomes desolate, and a house against a house falleth: if Satan also be divided against himself,
18 Si, entonces, Satanás está en guerra consigo mismo, ¿cómo guardará su reino? porque dicen que yo echo fuera demonios de los hombres con la ayuda de Beelzebu.
how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say, that I cast out demons by Beelzebub.
19 Y si yo, por Beelzebu, echo fuera demonios, ¿sus hijos por quién los echan? por tanto ellos serán sus jueces.
And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your own people cast them out? wherefore they shall be your judges.
20 Pero si yo, por el dedo de Dios, echo fuera demonios, entonces el reino de Dios ha llegado a ustedes.
But if I cast out demons by the power of God, you may be sure the kingdom of God is come unto you:
21 Cuando el hombre fuerte armado vigila su casa, entonces sus bienes están a salvo:
for when a strong man well-armed defends his palace, his substance is secure:
22 pero el que es más fuerte lo ataca y lo vence, se lleva sus armas de guerra, en las que había puesto su fe, y hace la división de sus bienes.
but when a stronger than he cometh upon him and conquers him, he taketh away his armour, wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
23 El que no está conmigo, está en mi contra, y el que no me ayuda a juntar a la gente, los está desparramando.
He, that is not with me, is against me; and he, that gathereth not with me, scattereth.
24 El espíritu inmundo, cuando ha salido de un hombre, pasa por lugares secos, buscando reposo; y cuando él no lo consigue, dice, volveré a mi casa de la que salí.
When an impure spirit is gone out of a man, he wanders through dry desert places, seeking rest: and finding none he saith, I will return into my house, that I came out of;
25 Y cuando viene, ve que se ha hecho limpia y adornada.
and when he cometh he findeth it swept and set in order.
26 Entonces él va y obtiene otros siete espíritus más malvados que él, y entran y toman su lugar allí: y la última condición de ese hombre es peor que la primera.
Then he goeth and taketh with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and so the last state of that man is worse than the first.
27 Y sucedió que cuando dijo estas cosas, una mujer del pueblo dijo en voz alta: Feliz es el vientre que te dio a luz, y los pechos de los que tomaste leche.
As He was speaking these things, a certain woman lifted up her voice from amidst the croud, and said, Happy is the womb that bare thee, and the breasts which thou didst suck!
28 Pero él dijo: Más felices son los que escuchan la palabra de Dios y la guardan.
but He replied, Yea rather happy are they, that hear the word of God and keep it.
29 Y cuando un gran número de personas se juntaron con él, él dijo: Esta generación es mala: está buscando una señal y no se le dará ninguna señal sino la señal de Jonás.
And when the multitudes were gathering thick together He began to say, This is a wicked generation: they demand a sign, but no sign shall be given them, except that of the prophet Jonah:
30 Porque así como Jonás se convirtió en señal para los ninivitas, así será el Hijo del hombre para esta generación.
for as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.
31 La reina del Sur se levantará en el día de juicio y juzgará a los hombres de esta generación; porque ella vino de los confines de la tierra para escuchar la sabiduría de Salomón; y he aquí más que Salomón en este lugar.
The queen of the south shall rise up in the day of judgement against the men of this generation and condemn them: for she came from the remote parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold a greater than Solomon is here.
32 Los hombres de Nínive se levantarán en el día del juicio y con esta generación; y la condenarán; porque fueron apartados de sus pecados por la predicación de Jonás; y he aquí más que Jonás en este lugar.
And the men of Nineveh shall rise up in the judgement against this generation, and condemn it; for they repented upon the preaching of Jonas, and behold a greater than Jonas is here.
33 Ningún hombre, cuando la luz ha sido encendida, la pone en un lugar secreto, o debajo de una vasija, sino sobre su mesa, para que aquellos que entren puedan ver la luz.
But yet no one having lighted a candle putteth it into a secret place, nor under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they who come in may see the light.
34 La luz del cuerpo es el ojo: cuando tu ojo es bueno, todo tu cuerpo está lleno de luz; pero cuando es malo, tu cuerpo está en tinieblas.
The eye is the candle of the body: therefore when thine eye is clear, thy whole body also is light; but when it is bad, thy body also is dark.
35 Así que ten cuidado de que la luz que está en ti no sea tiniebla.
Take heed therefore least the light which is in thee be darkness.
36 Si, entonces, si todo tu cuerpo está lleno de luz, no teniendo parte en las tinieblas, estará completamente lleno de luz, como cuando una lámpara te alumbra con su resplandor.
For if thy whole body be light, having no part dark, it will be (when all enlightened) as when a candle giveth thee light by its brightness.
37 Ahora, mientras él estaba hablando, un fariseo le pidió que fuera a comer con él; y él entró y tomó su asiento en la comida.
And as He spake, a certain pharisee asked Him to dine with him: and He went in and sat down at table.
38 Y cuando el fariseo lo vio, se sorprendió porque vino a la comida sin lavarse primero.
And when the pharisee saw it he wondered that He did not wash first, before dinner.
39 Y el Señor le dijo: ustedes los fariseos limpian lo que está fuera del vaso y del plato; pero dentro de ustedes son ladrones y están llenos de maldad.
But the Lord said unto him, ye pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of rapine and wickedness.
40 ¡Oh necios! ¿Acaso el que hizo el exterior de la misma manera no hizo el interior?
Senseless creatures! Did not He who made the outside, make also that which is within? give alms rather according to your ability:
41 Pero si le das a los pobres todo lo que tienes, y así todo quedará limpio.
and behold all things are clean to you.
42 Pero Ay! de ustedes, fariseos! porque ustedes hacen que los hombres den una décima parte de todo tipo de plantas, y no reflexionan sobre la justicia y el amor de Dios; es correcto que hagan estas cosas, sin dejar aquello.
But wo unto you pharisees, who tithe even your mint, and rue, and all your herbs, and pass by judgement and the love of God: these ought ye to practise and not to omit the others.
43 ¡Ay! de ustedes, fariseos! porque aman las primeras sillas de las sinagogas y los saludos en las plazas.
Wo unto you pharisees; for ye love the chief seat in synagogues, and salutations in public places.
44 ¡Ay de ustedes escribas y fariseos, Hipócritas! porque ustedes son como los sepulcros, que no se ven, y los hombres que andan encima no lo saben.
Wo unto you scribes and pharisees, hypocrites; for ye are like graves that do not appear, and those that walk over them are not aware of them.
45 Y uno de los maestros de la ley, respondiendo, le dijo: Maestro, al decir esto nos ofendes también a nosotros.
And one of the doctors of the law answered and said unto Him, Master, in saying these things thou reproachest us also.
46 Y él dijo: ¡Ay de ustedes, maestros de la ley! porque cargan a los hombres con reglas que no pueden soportar, ustedes mismos ni aun con un solo dedo las tocan.
And He said, Wo unto you also, ye interpreters of the law, for ye load men with insupportable burthens, and ye yourselves touch not the burthens with one of your fingers.
47 ¡Ay de ustedes! porque ustedes edifican los sepulcros de los profetas, pero sus padres los mataron.
Wo unto you; who build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
48 Entonces ustedes son testigos y dan aprobación al trabajo de sus padres; porque los mataron y ustedes edifican sus sepulcros.
Thus ye testify that ye approve of the deeds of your fathers; for they put them to death, and ye build their sepulchres.
49 Por esta razón la sabiduría de Dios ha dicho: Les enviaré profetas y apóstoles, y a algunos de ellos; darán muerte y a otros perseguirán;
And therefore the wisdom of God hath said, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute:
50 para que se demande de esta generación la sangre de todos los profetas que se ha derramado desde la fundación del mundo;
that the blood of all the prophets which has been shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation, from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zachariah,
51 De la sangre de Abel a la sangre de Zacarías, que murió entre el altar y el templo. Sí, les digo, que será demandada de esta generación.
who perished between the altar and the temple. Verily I tell you, it shall be required of this generation.
52 ¡Ay de ustedes, maestros de la ley! porque han quitado la llave del conocimiento: no entraron ustedes mismos, y se interpusieron en el camino de los que quieren hacerlo.
Wo unto you interpreters of the law; for ye have taken away the key of knowledge, ye entered not in yourselves, and those that were entering in, ye hindered.
53 Diciéndoles él estas cosas, los escribas y los fariseos lo rodearon enojados cuestionando y provocando para que hablase acerca de más cosas;
As He was saying these things unto them the scribes and pharisees began vehemently to attack Him, and urge Him to speak of many things,
54 Acechandole, procurando hacerle caer en una trampa de sus palabras que podrían ser utilizadas en su contra.
laying snares for Him, and endeavouring to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse Him.
