Lamentaciones 5
1 Ten en mente, oh Señor, lo que nos ha llegado; toma nota y ve nuestra vergüenza.
Keep in mind, O Lord, what has come to us: take note and see our shame.
2 Nuestra herencia se entrega a los hombres extranjeros, nuestras casas a aquellos que no son nuestros compatriotas.
Our heritage is given up to men of strange lands, our houses to those who are not our countrymen.
3 Somos hijos sin padres, nuestras madres son como viudas.
We are children without fathers, our mothers are like widows.
4 Pagamos dinero por un vaso de agua, obtenemos nuestra madera por un precio.
We give money for a drink of water, we get our wood for a price.
5 Nuestros atacantes están sobre nuestros cuellos; vencidos con cansancio, no tenemos descanso.
Our attackers are on our necks: overcome with weariness, we have no rest.
6 Hemos dado nuestras manos a los egipcios y a los asirios para que podamos tener suficiente pan.
We have given our hands to the Egyptians and to the Assyrians so that we might have enough bread.
7 Nuestros padres fueron pecadores y están muertos; y el peso de su maldad está sobre nosotros.
Our fathers were sinners and are dead; and the weight of their evil-doing is on us.
8 Los siervos gobiernan sobre nosotros, y no hay nadie que nos libere de sus manos.
Servants are ruling over us, and there is no one to make us free from their hands.
9 Ponemos nuestras vidas en peligro para obtener nuestro pan, enfrentándonos a la espada del desierto.
We put our lives in danger to get our bread, because of the sword of the waste land.
10 Nuestra piel se calienta como un horno, debido a la fiebre que nos causa la necesidad de alimentos.
Our skin is heated like an oven because of our burning heat from need of food.
11 Tomaron por la fuerza a las mujeres en Sión, a las vírgenes en las ciudades de Judá.
They took by force the women in Zion, the virgins in the towns of Judah.
12 Los príncipes fueron colgados de las manos; los rostros de los ancianos no fueron honrados.
Their hands put princes to death by hanging: the faces of old men were not honoured.
13 Los jóvenes trituraban el grano y los niños caían bajo el peso de la leña.
The young men were crushing the grain, and the boys were falling under the wood.
14 Los ancianos ya no están sentados en la puerta, y la música de los jóvenes ha llegado a su fin.
The old men are no longer seated in the doorway, and the music of the young men has come to an end.
15 El gozo de nuestros corazones ha terminado; Nuestro baile se transforma en dolor.
The joy of our hearts is ended; our dancing is changed into sorrow.
16 La corona ha sido quitada de nuestra cabeza; el dolor es nuestro, porque somos pecadores.
The crown has been taken from our head: sorrow is ours, for we are sinners.
17 Por esto nuestros corazones son débiles; por estas cosas nuestros ojos son oscuros;
Because of this our hearts are feeble; for these things our eyes are dark;
18 Por la montaña de Sión que es una ruina; los chacales van y vienen.
Because of the mountain of Zion which is a waste; jackals go over it.
19 Tú, oh Señor, estás sentado como Rey para siempre; El asiento de tu poder es de generación en generación.
You, O Lord, are seated as King for ever; the seat of your power is eternal.
20 ¿Por qué te olvidarás de nosotros para siempre? ¿Por qué has estado alejado de nosotros durante tanto tiempo?
Why have we gone from your memory for ever? why have you been turned away from us for so long?
21 Haz que volvamos a ti, Señor, y volveremos; Renueva nuestros días como en el pasado.
Make us come back to you, O Lord, and let us be turned; make our days new again as in the past.
22 Pero nos has rechazado por completo; Estás lleno de ira contra nosotros.
But you have quite given us up; you are full of wrath against us.
