Lamentaciones 2

1 ¿Cómo ha sido cubierta la hija de Sión con una nube por el Señor en su ira? ha enviado del cielo a la tierra la gloria de Israel, y no ha guardado en la memoria el lugar de descanso de sus pies en el día de su ira.

How doth the Lord cloud in His anger the daughter of Zion, He hath cast from heaven [to] earth the beauty of Israel, And hath not remembered His footstool in the day of His anger.

2 El Señor ha destruido todos los lugares de vida de Jacob sin piedad; derribando en su ira las fortalezas de la hija de Judá, humilló él reino, incluso su rey y sus gobernantes.

Swallowed up hath the Lord, He hath not pitied any of the pleasant places of Jacob, He hath broken down in His wrath The fortresses of the daughter of Judah, He hath caused to come to the earth, He polluted the kingdom and its princes.

3 En su ira ardiente, todo poder de Israel ha sido cortado; su diestra se ha vuelto hacia atrás ante el ataque de nuestros enemigos; ha incendiado a Jacob, causando destrucción alrededor.

He hath cut off in the heat of anger every horn of Israel, He hath turned backward His right hand From the face of the enemy, And He burneth against Jacob as a flaming fire, It hath devoured round about.

4 Su arco se inclinó para el ataque, tomó su lugar con la mano preparada como adversario, en su odio mató todo lo que era agradable a la vista; en la tienda de la hija de Sión, desató su enojo como el fuego.

He hath trodden His bow as an enemy, Stood hath His right hand as an adversary, And He slayeth all the desirable ones of the eye, In the tent of the daughter of Zion, He hath poured out as fire His fury.

5 El Señor se ha vuelto como uno que lucha contra ella, enviando destrucción a Israel; Él ha enviado destrucción a todas sus grandes casas, derribando sus fortalezas; aumentando la pena y el dolor de la hija de Judá.

The Lord hath been as an enemy, He hath swallowed up Israel, He hath swallowed up all her palaces, He hath destroyed His fortresses, And He multiplieth in the daughter of Judah Mourning and moaning.

6 Y él ha quitado violentamente su santuario, como si fuera un huerto; ha hecho perder su lugar de reunión; el Señor ha hecho que se olviden de Sión y La fiesta Solemne y los sábados en Sión, y en él furor de su ira está contra el rey y el sacerdote.

And He shaketh as a garden His tabernacle, He hath destroyed His appointed place, Jehovah hath forgotten in Zion the appointed time and sabbath, And despiseth, in the indignation of His anger, king and priest.

7 El Señor ha renunciado a su altar y ha menospreciado su santuario; Ha entregado en manos del atacante los muros de sus grandes casas; sus voces han sido fuertes en la casa del Señor como en el día de una reunión solemne.

The Lord hath cast off His altar, He hath rejected His sanctuary, He hath shut up into the hand of the enemy The walls of her palaces, A noise they have made in the house of Jehovah Like a day of appointment.

8 El propósito del Señor es destruir el muro de la hija de Sión; trazó su línea de destrucción, y cumplió su plan de destrucción. ha envuelto en luto él antemuro y muro, se han venido abajo juntos.

Devised hath Jehovah to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion, He hath stretched out a line, He hath not turned His hand from destroying, And He causeth bulwark and wall to mourn, Together — they have been weak.

9 Sus puertas han descendido a la tierra; Él ha destruido y quebrado sus cerrojos; su rey y sus príncipes están entre las naciones de los gentiles, donde no existe la ley; Incluso sus profetas no han tenido visión del Señor.

Sunk into the earth have her gates, He hath destroyed and broken her bars, Her king and her princes [are] among the nations, There is no law, also her prophets Have not found vision from Jehovah.

10 Los hombres responsables de la hija de Sión están sentados en la tierra sin una palabra; se han puesto polvo en la cabeza, se han vestido de cilicio. Las cabezas de las vírgenes de Jerusalén están inclinadas hacia la tierra.

Sit on the earth — keep silent do the elders of the daughter of Zion, They have caused dust to go up on their head, They have girded on sackcloth, Put down to the earth their head have the virgins of Jerusalem.

11 Mis ojos se consumen con llanto, las partes internas de mi cuerpo están profundamente conmovidas, mi ánimo se viene al suelo, por la destrucción de la hija de mi pueblo; Debido a los niños pequeños y bebés en el pecho que están cayendo sin fuerza en las plazas abiertas de la ciudad.

Consumed by tears have been my eyes, Troubled have been my bowels, Poured out to the earth hath been my liver, For the breach of the daughter of my people; In infant and suckling being feeble, In the broad places of the city,

12 Dicen a sus madres: ¿Dónde está el grano y el vino? cuando caen como los heridos en las plazas abiertas de la ciudad, cuando su vida exhala el último suspiro en el pecho de su madre.

To their mothers they say, 'Where [are] corn and wine?' In their becoming feeble as a pierced one In the broad places of the city, In their soul pouring itself out into the bosom of their mothers.

13 ¿Qué ejemplo tengo para darte? ¿Qué comparación voy a hacer para ti, oh hija de Jerusalén? ¿Qué debo hacer para igualarte, a fin de que pueda darte consuelo, oh virgen hija de Sión? Porque tu destrucción es grande como el mar, ¿quién puede sanarte?

What do I testify [to] thee, what do I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? What do I equal to thee, and I comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? For great as a sea [is] thy breach, Who doth give healing to thee?

14 Las visiones que tus profetas han visto para ti son falsas y tontas; no te han dejado en claro tu pecado para que volvieras de tu cautiverio, pero han visto para ti falsas profecías.

Thy prophets have seen for thee a false and insipid thing, And have not revealed concerning thine iniquity, To turn back thy captivity, And they see for thee false burdens and causes of expulsion.

15 Todos los que pasan y baten sus manos; hacen silbidos, sacudiendo la cabeza a la hija de Jerusalén y diciendo: ¿Es este el pueblo que fue la corona de todo lo bello, la alegría de toda la tierra?

Clapped hands at thee have all passing by the way, They have hissed — and they shake the head At the daughter of Jerusalem: 'Is this the city of which they said: The perfection of beauty, a joy to all the land?'

16 Todos tus enemigos abren la boca contra ti; diciendo silbidos y rechinando los dientes, dicen: La hemos devorado; ciertamente este es el día que hemos estado buscando; Ha venido, lo hemos visto.

Opened against thee their mouth have all thine enemies, They have hissed, yea, they gnash the teeth, They have said: 'We have swallowed [her] up, Surely this [is] the day that we looked for, We have found — we have seen.'

17 El Señor ha hecho lo que era su propósito; ha puesto en vigor las órdenes que dio en los tiempos pasados; destruyéndote sin piedad, él ha hecho que tus enemigos se alegren, elevando el poder de los que estaban contra ti.

Jehovah hath done that which He devised, He hath fulfilled His saying That He commanded from the days of old, He hath broken down and hath not pitied, And causeth an enemy to rejoice over thee, He lifted up the horn of thine adversaries.

18 Sube tu clamor al Señor; oh muro de la hija de Sión, que tu llanto fluya como un arroyo día y noche; no descanses, no permitas que tus ojos dejen de llorar.

Cried hath their heart unto the Lord; O wall of the daughter of Zion, Cause to go down as a stream tears daily and nightly, Give not rest to thyself, Let not the daughter of thine eye stand still.

19 ¡Levántate! Grita en la noche, al inicio de las vigilias; deja que tu corazón fluya como agua ante la presencia del Señor, y levanta tus manos hacia él por la vida de tus hijos pequeños que se están cayendo, débiles por la necesidad de comida, en las esquinas de cada calle.

Arise, cry aloud in the night, At the beginning of the watches. Pour out as water thy heart, Over against the face of the Lord, Lift up unto Him thy hands, for the soul of thine infants, Who are feeble with hunger at the head of all out-places.

20 ¡Mira! ¡Oh Señor, mira a quién has hecho esto! ¿Las mujeres deben tomar como alimento el fruto de sus cuerpos, los niños que se doblan en sus brazos? ¿Han de morir el sacerdote y el profeta en el santuario del Señor?

See, O Jehovah, and look attentively, To whom Thou hast acted thus, Do women eat their fruit, infants of a handbreadth? Slain in the sanctuary of the Lord are priest and prophet?

21 Los jóvenes y los ancianos están tendidos sobre la tierra en las calles; Mis vírgenes y mis jóvenes han sido puestos a la espadahas enviado muerte sobre ellos en el día de tu ira, causando muerte sin piedad.

Lain on the earth [in] out-places have young and old, My virgins and my young men have fallen by the sword, Thou hast slain in a day of Thine anger, Thou hast slaughtered — Thou hast not pitied.

22 Como en el día de una reunión santa, me has hecho temer por todas partes, y nadie escapó ni se mantuvo a salvo en el día de la ira del Señor: los que estaban en mis brazos, a quienes yo cuidé, han sido enviados a su destrucción por mi enemigo.

Thou dost call as [at] a day of appointment, My fears from round about, And there hath not been in the day of the anger of Jehovah, An escaped and remaining one, They whom I stretched out and nourished, My enemy hath consumed!
