1 Entonces todos los hijos de Israel tomaron las armas, y la gente se unió como un solo hombre, desde Dan hasta Beerseba, y la tierra de Galaad, delante del Señor en Mizpa.

Then all the children of Israel went out, and the Congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, vnto the Lord in Mizpeh.

2 Y los jefes del pueblo, de todas las tribus de Israel, tomaron sus lugares en la reunión del pueblo de Dios, cuatrocientos mil a pie armados con espadas.

And the chiefe of all the people, and all the tribes of Israel assembled in the Congregation of the people of God foure hundreth thousand footemen that drewe sword.

3 Ahora los hijos de Benjamín tuvieron noticia de que los hijos de Israel habían subido a Mizpa. Y los hijos de Israel dijeron: Aclaren cómo ocurrió esta maldad.

(Now the children of Beniamin heard that the children of Israel were gone vp to Mizpeh) Then the children of Israel saide, Howe is this wickednesse committed?

4 Entonces el levita, el marido de la mujer muerta, respondió: Vine a Guibeá en la tierra de Benjamín, yo y mi concubina, con el propósito de detenerme allí esa noche.

And the same Leuite, the womans husband that was slaine, answered and saide, I came vnto Gibeah that is in Beniamin with my concubine to lodge,

5 Y los hombres de la ciudad de Guibeá se juntaron contra mí, dando vueltas por la casa de noche por todos lados; Su propósito era hacerme morir, y mi concubina fue violentamente violada por ellos y está muerta.

And the men of Gibeah arose against me, and beset the house round about vpon mee by night, thinking to haue slaine me, and haue forced my concubine that she is dead.

6 Así que tomé mi concubina y la corte en partes, que envié por todo el país de la herencia de Israel, porque han hecho un acto de depravación y vergüenza en Israel.

Then I tooke my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the countrey of the inheritance of Israel: for they haue committed abomination and villenie in Israel.

7 Aquí están todos, hijos de Israel; Da ahora tus sugerencias sobre lo que se debe hacer.

Behold, ye are al children of Israel: giue your aduise, and counsell herein.

8 Entonces toda la gente se levantó como un solo hombre y dijo: Ninguno de nosotros irá a su casa ni ninguno de nosotros regresará a su casa.

Then all the people arose as one man, saying, There shall not a man of vs goe to his tent, neither any turne into his house.

9 Pero esto es lo que haremos con Guibea: enfrentaremos la decisión del Señor;

But now this is that thing which we will do to Gibeah: we wil goe vp by lot against it,

10 Y sacaremos a diez hombres de cada cien, a través de todas las tribus de Israel, a cien de cada mil, a mil de cada diez mil, para obtener comida para el pueblo, para que puedan dar a Guibea de Benjamín el castigo correcto por el acto de vergüenza que han hecho en Israel.

And we wil take ten men of the hundreth throughout al the tribes of Israel, and an hundreth of the thousand, and a thousand of ten thousand to bring vitaile for the people that they may do (when they come to Gibeah of Beniamin) according to all the villeny, that it hath done in Israel.

11 Entonces todos los hombres de Israel estaban agrupados contra el pueblo, unidos como un solo hombre.

So all the men of Israel were gathered against the citie, knit together, as one man.

12 Y las tribus de Israel enviaron hombres por toda la tribu de Benjamín, diciendo: ¿Qué es este mal que se ha hecho entre ustedes?

And the tribes of Israel sent men through al the tribe of Beniamin, saying, What wickednesse is this that is committed among you?

13 Ahora, entreganos a esos perversos en Guibeá para que podamos darles muerte, limpiando el mal de Israel. Pero los hijos de Benjamín no escucharon la voz de sus hermanos, los hijos de Israel.

Nowe therefore deliuer vs those wicked men which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away euill from Israel: but the children of Beniamin would not obey the voyce of their brethren the children of Israel.

14 Y los hijos de Benjamín vinieron de todos sus pueblos a Guibeá para ir a la guerra con los hijos de Israel.

But ye children of Beniamin gathered them selues together out of the cities vnto Gibeah, to come out and fight against the children of Israel.

15 Y los hijos de Benjamín que vinieron ese día de las ciudades eran veintiséis mil hombres armados con espadas, además de la gente de Guibea, que contaban con setecientos hombres de guerra.

And ye children of Beniamin were nombred at that time out of the cities sixe and twenty thousand men that drewe sworde, beside the inhabitants of Gibeah, which were nombred seuen hundreth chosen men.

16 Quienes eran zurdos, podían enviar una piedra a un caballo sin error.

Of all this people were seuen hundreth chosen men, being left handed: all these could sling stones at an heare breadth, and not faile.

17 Y los hombres de Israel, aparte de Benjamín, eran cuatrocientos mil en total, todos armados con espadas; Todos eran hombres de guerra.

Also the men of Israel, beside Beniamin, were nombred foure hundreth thousande men that drew sword, euen all men of warre.

18 Se levantaron y subieron a Betel para recibir instrucciones de Dios, y los hijos de Israel dijeron: ¿Quién será el primero en subir a la lucha contra los hijos de Benjamín? Y él Señor dijo: Judá debe subir primero.

And the children of Israel arose, and went vp to the house of God, and asked of God, saying, Which of vs shall goe vp first to fight against the children of Beniamin? And the Lord said, Iudah shalbe first.

19 Entonces los hijos de Israel se levantaron por la mañana y se pusieron en posición contra Guibeá.

Then the children of Israel arose vp earely and camped against Gibeah.

20 Y los hombres de Israel salieron a la guerra contra Benjamín y los hombres de Israel pusieron sus fuerzas en orden de combate contra ellos en Guibea.

And the men of Israel went out to battell against Beniamin, and the men of Israel put themselues in aray to fight against the beside Gibeah.

21 Entonces los hijos de Benjamín salieron de Guibeá y cortaron a veintidós mil israelitas ese día.

And the children of Beniamin came out of Gibeah, and slewe downe to the ground of the Israelites that day two and twentie thousand men.

22 Pero el pueblo, los hombres de Israel, reavivados, pusieron sus fuerzas en orden y tomaron la misma posición que el primer día.

And the people, the men of Israel plucked vp their hearts, and set their battel againe in aray in the place where they put them in aray the first day.

23 Entonces subieron los hijos de Israel, llorando delante del Señor hasta la tarde, pidiéndole al Señor y diciendo: ¿Debo avanzar nuevamente en la lucha contra los hijos de mi hermano Benjamín? Y el Señor dijo: Sube contra él.

(For the children of Israel had gone vp and wept before the Lord vnto the euening, and had asked of the Lord, saying, Shall I goe againe to battel against the children of Beniamin my brethren? and the Lord said, Go vp against them)

24 Los hijos de Israel avanzaron contra los hijos de Benjamín el segundo día.

Then the children of Israel came neere against the children of Beniamin the second day.

25 Y el segundo día, Benjamín salió contra ellos desde Guibea, derribando a dieciocho mil hombres de los hijos de Israel, todos espadachines.

Also the second day Beniamin came forth to meete them out of Gibeah, and slewe downe to the grounde of the children of Israel againe eighteene thousand men: all they could handle the sword.

26 Entonces todos los hijos de Israel y todo el pueblo subieron a Betel, llorando y esperando allí delante del Señor, en ayuno todo el día hasta la tarde, y ofreciendo ofrendas quemadas y ofrendas de paz delante del Señor.

Then al the children of Israel went vp and all the people came also vnto the house of God, and wept and sate there before the Lord and fasted that day vnto the euening, and offred burnt offrings and peace offrings before the Lord.

And the children of Israel asked the Lord (for there was the Arke of the couenat of God in those dayes,

And Phinehas the sonne of Eleazar, the sonne of Aaron stoode before it at that time) saying, Shall I yet goe anie more to battel against the children of Beniamin my brethren, or shall I cease? And the Lord said, Go vp: for to morowe I will deliuer them into your hand.

29 Entonces Israel puso a los hombres en secreto alrededor de Guibea para hacer un ataque sorpresa.

And Israel set men to lie in waite round about Gibeah.

30 Y los hijos de Israel subieron contra los hijos de Benjamín al tercer día, y se pusieron en orden de lucha contra Guibeá como antes.

And the children of Israel went vp against the children of Beniamin the third day, and put theselues in aray against Gibeah, as at other times.

31 Y salieron los hijos de Benjamín contra el pueblo, alejándose del pueblo; y como antes, en su primer ataque, mataron a unos treinta hombres de Israel en las carreteras, de las cuales una sube a Betel y la otra a Guibeá, y en el campo abierto.

Then the children of Beniamin comming out against the people, were drawen from the citie: and they began to smite of ye people and kill as at other times, euen by the wayes in the fielde (whereof one goeth vp to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah) vpon a thirtie men of Israel.

32 Y los hijos de Benjamín dijeron: Están cediendo ante nosotros como al principio. Pero los hijos de Israel dijeron: Vamos a volar y alejarlos de la ciudad, a las carreteras.

(For the children of Beniamin sayd, They are fallen before vs, as at the first. But the children of Israel saide, Let vs flee and plucke them away from the citie vnto the hie wayes)

33 Entonces todos los hombres de Israel se levantaron y se pusieron en orden de combate en Baal-tamar; y los que habían estado esperando en secreto para hacer un ataque sorpresa salieron de su lugar al oeste de Guibea.

And all the men of Israel rose vp out of their place, and put themselues in aray at Baal-tamar: and the men that lay in wayte of the Israelites came forth of their place, euen out of the medowes of Gibeah,

34 Y vinieron delante de Guibea, diez mil de los mejores hombres de todo Israel, y la lucha se hizo más violenta; pero los hijos de Benjamín no estaban conscientes de que el mal venía sobre ellos.

And they came ouer against Gibeah, ten thousande chosen men of all Israel, and the battell was sore: for they knewe not that the euill was neere them.

35 Entonces el Señor venció a Benjamín delante de Israel; y aquel día los hijos de Israel mataron a veinticinco mil cien hombres de Benjamín, todos ellos espadachines.

And the Lord smote Beniamin before Israel, and the children of Israel destroyed of the Beniamites the same day fiue and twenty thousand and an hundreth men: all they could handle the sword.

36 Entonces los hijos de Benjamín vieron que habían sido vencidos; y los hombres de Israel habían cedido campo a Benjamín, poniendo su fe en las emboscadas que debían atacar por sorpresa a Guibeá.

So the children of Beniamin sawe that they were striken downe: for the men of Israel gaue place to the Beniamites, because they trusted to the men that lay in waite, which they had laide beside Gibeah.

37 Y los vigilantes de las emboscadas en Guibeá apresurándose, pusieron a toda la ciudad a filo de espada sin piedad.

And they that lay in wait hasted, and brake forth toward Gibeah, and the ambushment drewe themselues along, and smote all the citie with the edge of the sword.

38 Ahora, la señal entre los hombres de Israel y los que estaban realizando el ataque sorpresa fue que hicieran subir una columna de humo en el pueblo cuando hubieran tomado el pueblo.

Also the men of Israel had appoynted a certaine time with the ambushmentes, that they should make a great flame and smoke rise vp out of the citie.

39 Los hombres de Israel debían hacer un giro en la lucha Y Benjamín había vencido y matado a una treintena de hombres de Israel, y decía: Ciertamente están retrocediendo ante nosotros como en la primera pelea.

And when the men of Israel retired in the battel, Beniamin began to smite and kill of the men of Israel about thirtie persons: for they said, Surely they are striken downe before vs, as in the first battell.

40 Luego la nube salió del pueblo en la columna de humo, y los Benjamitas, volviéndose atrás, vieron que las llamas subían y el humo de toda la ciudad subía al cielo.

But when the flame bega to arise out of the citie, as a pillar of smoke, the Beniamites looked backe, and behold, the flame of the citie began to ascend vp to heauen.

41 Y los hombres de Israel habían dado la vuelta, y los hombres de Benjamín fueron vencidos por el temor, porque vieron que el mal los había alcanzado.

Then the men of Israel turned againe, and the men of Beniamin were astonied: for they saw that euill was neere vnto them.

42 Volviendo la espalda a los hombres de Israel, fueron en dirección al desierto; pero no podían escapar; y los que salieron de la ciudad les cortaban el paso y los mataban.

Therefore they fled before the men of Israel vnto the way of the wildernesse, but the battell ouertooke them: also they which came out of the cities, slew them among them.

43 Y aplastando a Benjamín, fueron tras ellos, llevándolos desde Menuha hasta el lado este de Guibea.

Thus they compassed the Beniamites about, and chased them at ease, and ouerranne them, euen ouer against Gibeah on the Eastside.

44 Dieciocho mil hombres de Benjamín vinieron a su muerte, todos fuertes hombres de guerra.

And there were slaine of Beniamin eyghteene thousad men, which were all men of warre.

45 Y girando, huyeron a la roca de Rimón en el desierto, y en los caminos, cinco mil de ellos fueron cortados por los hombres de Israel, quienes, empujando con fuerza después de ellos hasta Guidon, los mataron, y dos mil más.

And they turned and fled to the wildernes vnto the rocke of Rimmon: and the Israelites glayned of them by the way fiue thousand men, and pursued after them vnto Gidom, and slewe two thousand men of them,

46 Entonces, veinticinco mil espadachines de Benjamín llegaron a su fin ese día, todos eran hombres de guerra fuertes.

So that all that were slayne that day of Beniamin, were fiue and twentie thousand men that drewe sword, which were all men of warre:

47 Pero seiscientos hombres, volviéndose atrás, se fueron a la peña de Rimón en el desierto, y vivieron en la peña de Rimón durante cuatro meses.

But sixe hundreth men turned and fled to the wildernesse vnto the rocke of Rimmon, and abode in the rocke of Rimmon foure moneths.

48 Y los hombres de Israel, volviéndose contra los hijos de Benjamín, pusieron a la espada sin piedad todos los pueblos y el ganado y todo lo que había, quemando cada pueblo que les tocó.

Then the men of Israel returned vnto the children of Beniamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword from the men of the citie vnto the beasts, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they coulde come by.
