Jueces 12

1 Entonces los hombres de Efraín se reunieron, tomaron las armas y se dirigieron a Zafon; y dijeron a Jefté: ¿Por qué fuiste a hacer la guerra contra los hijos de Amón sin enviarnos a que fuéramos contigo? Ahora pondremos tu casa en llamas sobre ti.

And the me of Ephraim gathered themselues together, and went Northwarde, and saide vnto Iphtah, Wherefore wentest thou to fight against the children of Ammon, and diddest not call vs to goe with thee? we will therefore burne thine house vpon thee with fire.

2 Y Jefté les dijo: Yo y mi gente estábamos en peligro, y los hijos de Amón fueron muy crueles con nosotros, y cuando envié por ti, no me diste ninguna ayuda contra ellos.

And Iphtah said vnto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon, and when I called you, ye deliuered me not out of their handes.

3 Entonces, cuando vi que no tenía ayuda de ti, arriesgue mi propia vida y fui contra los hijos de Amón, y el Señor los puso en mis manos. ¿por qué has venido ¿Este día para hacerme la guerra?

So when I sawe that ye deliuered me not, I put my life in mine hands, and went vpon the children of Ammon: so the Lord deliuered them into mine handes. Wherefore then are ye come vpon me nowe to fight against me?

4 Entonces Jefté reunió a todos los hombres de Galaad e hizo la guerra a Efraín; y los hombres de Galaad vencieron a Efraín.

Then Iphtah gathered all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are runnagates of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.

5 Y los de Galaad tomaron los lugares de cruce del Jordán contra los efraimitas; y cuando alguno de los hombres de Efraín que había salido huyendo les pedía paso; Los hombres de Galaad le preguntaban: ¿Eres tú un efraimita? Y si él respondía: No;

Also the Gileadites tooke the passages of Iorden before the Ephraimites, and when the Ephraimites that were escaped, saide, Let me passe, then the men of Gilead said vnto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay,

6 Entonces le dijeron: Ahora, di Shibolet; y él dijo Sibolet, y no pudo decirlo de la manera correcta; luego lo tomaron y lo mataron en los cruces del Jordán; y en ese momento fueron ejecutados cuarenta y dos mil efraimitas.

Then said they vnto him, Say nowe Shibboleth: and he said, Sibboleth: for he could not so pronounce: then they tooke him, and slewe him at the passages of Iorden: and there fel at that time of the Ephraimites two and fourtie thousand.

7 Y Jefté fue juez de Israel por seis años. Y Jefté, el galaadita, murió, y lo enterraron en su pueblo, Mizpa de Galaad.

And Iphtah iudged Israel sixe yeere: then dyed Iphtah the Gileadite, and was buryed in one of the cities of Gilead.

8 Y después de él, Ibzán de Belén fue juez de Israel.

After him Ibzan of Beth-lehem iudged Israel,

9 Tuvo treinta hijos y treinta hijas a quienes envió a otros lugares, y obtuvo treinta esposas de otros lugares para sus hijos. Y fue juez de Israel por siete años.

Who had thirtie sonnes and thirtie daughters, which he sent out, and tooke in thirtie daughters from abroade for his sonnes. and he iudged Israel seuen yeere.

10 Y murió Ibzán, y lo enterraron en Belén.

Then Ibzan died, and was buryed at Bethlehem.

11 Y después de él, Elón, el zebulonita, fue juez de Israel; y fue juez de Israel durante diez años.

And after him iudged Israel Elon, a Zebulonite, and he iudged Israel tenne yeere.

12 Y murió Elón el zebulonita, y lo enterraron en Ajalón, en la tierra de Zabulón.

13 Y después de él, Abdón, hijo de Hilel, de piratón, fue juez de Israel.

And after him Abdon the sonne of Hillel the Pirathonite iudged Israel.

14 Tuvo cuarenta hijos y treinta nietos cada uno de los cuales montaba un asno; y fue juez de Israel durante ocho años.

And he had fourty sonnes and thirtie nephewes that rode on seuentie assecoltes: and he iudged Israel eight yeeres.

15 Y murió Abdón, el hijo de Hillel, y lo enterraron en Piratón, en la tierra de Efraín, en la región montañosa de los amalecitas.

Then dyed Abdon the sonne of Hillel the Pirathonite, and was buryed in Pirathon, in ye lande of Ephraim, in the Mount of the Amalekites.
