Josué 17

1 Y esta era la parte señalada para la tribu de Manasés, porque era el hijo mayor de José. En cuanto a Maquir, el hijo mayor de Manasés, el padre de Galaad, porque era un hombre de guerra, tenía a Galaad y Basán.

And then came the lot for the tribe of Menasseh; for he was the first-born of Joseph: to wit, for Machir the first-born of Menasseh, the father of Gil'ad; because he was a man of war, therefore he obtained Gil'ad and Bashan.

2 Y en cuanto al resto de los hijos de Manasés, su herencia les fue dada por familias; para los hijos de Abiezer, Helec, Asriel, Siquem, Hefer, y para los hijos de Semida; éstos fueron los hijos varones de Manases, Hijo de José, por sus familias.

There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Menasseh after their families; for the children of Abi'ezer, and for the children of Chelek, and for the children of Assriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Chepher, and for the children of Shemida': these were the male children of Menasseh the son of Joseph after their families.

3 Más Zelofehad, hijo de Hefer, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, no tuvo hijos, sino sólo hijas; y estos son los nombres de sus hijas: Maala, y Noa, Hogla, Milca, y Tirsa.

But Zelophchad, the son of Chepher, the son of Gil'ad, the son of Machir, the son of Menasseh, had no sons, but only daughters, and these are the names of his daughters, Machlah, and No'ah, Choglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

4 Y vinieron delante del sacerdote Eleazar y de Josué, hijo de Nun, y delante de los jefes, diciendo: “El Señor le dio órdenes a Moisés para que nos diera un legado entre nuestros hermanos; por lo tanto, de acuerdo con las órdenes del Señor”. Él les dio una herencia entre los hermanos de su padre.

And they came near before Elazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The Lord commanded Moses to give unto us an inheritance among our brethren. And he gave them, according to the order of the Lord, an inheritance among the brethren of their father.

5 Y se le dieron diez partes a Manasés, además de la tierra de Galaad y Basán, que está al otro lado del Jordán;

And there fell ten portions of Menasseh, beside the lands of Gil'ad and Bashan, which were on the other side of the Jordan;

6 Porque las hijas de Manasés tenían herencia entre sus hijos, y la tierra de Galaad era propiedad de los otros hijos de Manasés.

Because the daughters of Menasseh obtained an inheritance among his sons: and the land of Gil'ad belonged to the rest of the sons of Manasseh.

7 Y el límite de la tierra de Manasés era de Aser a Micmetat, que está delante de Siquem; la línea pasa a la mano derecha, hasta los que habitan de En-tapua.

And the boundary of Menasseh was from Asher to Michmethath, that lieth before Shechem; and the boundary went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of 'En-tappuach.

8 La tierra de Tapua era propiedad de Manasés; pero Tapua en el borde de Manasés era propiedad de los hijos de Efraín.

To Menasseh belonged the land of Tappuach; but Tappuach on the borders of Menasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;

9 Y el límite desciende hasta la corriente de Cana, al sur de la corriente: estas ciudades estaban entre las de Efraín y las ciudades de Manasés; él límite de Manasés estaba en el lado norte de la corriente, que termina en el mar.

And the boundary descended unto the brook Kanah, southward of the brook; these cities belonging to Ephraim are in the midst of the cities of Menasseh; and the boundary of Menasseh was on the north side of the river, and its terminations were toward the sea:

10 Al sur es de Efraín, y al norte es de Manasés, y el mar es su límite; y están tocando a Aser en el norte, y Isacar en el este.

Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Menasseh's, and the sea was [there] his boundary; and on Asher they touched on the north, and on Issachar on the east.

11 En Isacar y Aser, Manasés tenía a Bet-seán y sus aldeas, y Ibleam y sus aldeas, y la gente de Dor y sus aldeas, y la gente de En-dor y sus aldeas y la gente de Taanac y sus aldeas, y la gente de Megiddo y sus aldeas, es decir, las tres colinas.

And to Menasseh belonged in Issachar and in Asher Beth-shean and its towns, and Yible'am and its towns, together with the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of 'En-dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Ta'anach and its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns, namely the three districts.

12 Pero los hijos de Manasés no pudieron hacer salir a la gente de esos pueblos; y los cananeos persistieron vivir en esa tierra.

Yet the children of Menasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of these cities; but the Canaanites succeeded to dwell in this land;

13 Y cuando los hijos de Israel se hicieron fuertes, pusieron a los cananeos a trabajar forzadamente, en lugar de expulsarlos.

Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were become strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute; but they did not drive them out.

14 Entonces los hijos de José dijeron a Josué: ¿Por qué me has dado solo una parte y una extensión de tierra para mi herencia? Porque a través de la bendición que el Señor me ha dado hasta ahora, somos muchos.

And the children of Joseph spoke unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion as an inheritance, seeing I am a numerous people, to which extent the Lord hath hitherto blessed me?

15 Entonces Josué les dijo: Si son un pueblo tan grande, suban a los bosques, despejando un lugar allí en la tierra de los ferezeos y los refaitas, si la región montañosa de Efraín no es lo suficientemente ancha para ustedes.

And Joshua said unto them, If thou art a numerous people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down [a space] for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the Rephaim, if the mountain of Ephraim be too narrow for thee.

16 Y los hijos de José dijeron: La región montañosa no es suficiente para nosotros y todos los cananeos que viven en el valle tienen carruajes de guerra de hierro, los de Bet-seán y sus pueblos, así como los del valle de Jezreel.

And the children of Joseph said, The mountain will not be enough for us; and chariots of iron are belonging to all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley, to those who are at Beth-shean and its towns, and to those who are in the valley of Yizre'el.

17 Entonces Josué dijo a los hijos de José, a Efraín y Manasés, Eres un gran pueblo y tienes un gran poder. No te tocará sólo una suerte,

And Joshua said unto the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and to Menasseh, as followeth, Thou art a numerous people, and hast great power; thou shalt not have one lot only;

18 Porque la región montañosa será suyo, el bosque y la tala; sus alrededores serán suyos. Saca a los cananeos, aunque sean fuertes y tengan carruajes de guerra de hierro.

But the mountain shall be thine; it is indeed a wood, yet thou canst cut it down; and the terminations of it shall be thine; for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, though they be strong.
