Juan 18
1 Cuando Jesús hubo dicho estas palabras, salió con sus discípulos sobre el arroyo de Cedrón a un jardín, donde fue con sus discípulos.
When Yeshua [Salvation] had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, into which he and his disciples entered.
2 Y Judas, que lo estaba traicionando, tenía conocimiento del lugar porque Jesús iba allí con frecuencia con sus discípulos.
Now Judas [Praised], who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Yeshua [Salvation] often met there with his disciples.
3 Entonces Judas, trayendo una tropa de soldados armados y guardias de parte de los principales sacerdotes y fariseos, fue allí con luces y armas.
Judas [Praised] then, having taken a detachment of soldiers and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees [Separated], came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.
4 Entonces Jesús, conociendo todo lo que venía sobre él, se adelantó y les dijo: ¿A quién están buscando?
Yeshua [Salvation] therefore, knowing all the things that were happening to him, went out, and said to them, “Who are you looking for?”
5 Su respuesta fue, a Jesús el Nazareno. Jesús dijo: Yo soy el. Y Judas, el que lo estaba traicionando, estaba allí a su lado.
They answered him, “Yeshua [Salvation] of Nazareth [Branch, Separated one].” Yeshua [Salvation] said to them, “I am he.” Judas [Praised] also, who betrayed him, was standing with them.
6 Y cuando les dijo: Yo soy él, volvieron y cayeron a la tierra.
When therefore he said to them, “Ena Na [I AM (the Living God)],” they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7 Entonces nuevamente les hizo la pregunta: ¿A quién estás buscando? Y ellos dijeron: a Jesús el Nazareno.
Again therefore he asked them, “Who are you looking for?” They said, “Yeshua [Salvation] of Nazareth [Branch, Separated one].”
8 Jesús respondió: He dicho que yo soy; si me estás buscando, deja que estos hombres se vayan.
Yeshua [Salvation] answered, “I told you that Ena Na [I AM (the Living God)]. If therefore you seek me, let these go their way,”
9 Dijo esto para que sus palabras se hicieran realidad, Padre de los que me diste no perdí ninguno.
that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, “Of those whom you have given me, I have lost none.”
10 Entonces Simón Pedro, que tenía una espada, la sacó y le dio un golpe al siervo del sumo sacerdote, cortando su oreja derecha. El nombre del sirviente era Malco.
Simeon Peter [Hearing Rock] therefore, having a machaira ·machete, small sword knife·, drew it, and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
11 Entonces Jesús dijo a Pedro: Retira tu espada. ¿No voy a tomar la copa que mi Padre me ha dado?
Yeshua [Salvation] therefore said to Peter [Rock], “Put the machaira ·machete, small sword knife· into its sheath. The cup which haAbba ·the Father· has given me, shall I not surely drink it?”
12 Entonces la tropa, el comandante y la policía tomaron a Jesús y lo rodearon con cuerdas.
So the detachment, the commanding officer, and the officers of the Jews [Praisers], seized Yeshua [Salvation] and bound him,
13 Lo llevaron primero a Anás, porque Anás era el suegro de Caifás, que era el sumo sacerdote ese año.
and led him to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas [Rock that hollows itself out], who was high priest that year.
14 Fue Caifás quien les dijo a los judíos que a ellos les interesaba que un hombre muriera por el pueblo.
Now it was Caiaphas [Rock that hollows itself out] who advised the Jews [Praisers] that it was expedient that one man should perish for the people.
15 Y Simón Pedro fue tras Jesús con otro discípulo. Ahora ese discípulo era amigo del sumo sacerdote y entró con Jesús en la casa del sumo sacerdote;
Simeon Peter [Hearing Rock] followed Yeshua [Salvation], as did another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and entered in with Yeshua [Salvation] into the court of the high priest;
16 Pero Pedro fue mantenido afuera en la puerta. Entonces este otro discípulo, que era amigo del sumo sacerdote, salió y habló con la muchacha que mantenía la puerta, y tomó a Pedro.
but Peter [Rock] was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought in Peter [Rock].
17 Entonces la portera le dijo a Pedro: ¿No eres tú? uno de los discípulos de este hombre? En respuesta, dijo, no, yo no soy.
Then the maid who kept the door said to Peter [Rock], “Are you also one of this man’s disciples?” He said, “I am not.”
18 Ahora los sirvientes y los guardias habían encendido fuego porque hacía frío; se estaban calentando frente a él y Pedro estaba allí con ellos, calentándose a sí mismo.
Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold. They were warming themselves. Peter [Rock] was with them, standing and warming himself.
19 Entonces el sumo sacerdote le hizo preguntas a Jesús acerca de sus discípulos y sus enseñanzas.
The high priest therefore asked Yeshua [Salvation] about his disciples, and about his teaching.
20 Jesús respondió: Dije cosas abiertamente al mundo en todo tiempo; He dado mis enseñanzas en las sinagogas y en el templo al que todos los judíos vienen; y no he dicho nada en secreto.
Yeshua [Salvation] answered him, “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where the Jews [Praisers] always meet. I said nothing in secret.
21 ¿Por qué me preguntas? haga preguntas a mis oyentes sobre lo que les he dicho: tienen conocimiento de lo que dije.
Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard me what I said to them. Behold, these know the things which I said.”
22 Cuando dijo esto, uno de los policías que estaba a su lado le propinó un golpe con la mano abierta, diciendo: ¿Le das tal respuesta al sumo sacerdote?
When he had said this, one of the officers standing by slapped Yeshua [Salvation] with his hand, saying, “Do you answer the high priest like that?”
23 Jesús dijo en respuesta: Si he dicho algo malo, da testimonio del mal; pero si dijera lo que es verdad, ¿por qué me das golpes?
Yeshua [Salvation] answered him, “If I have spoken evil, testify of the evil; but if well, why do you beat me?”
24 Entonces Anás lo envió encadenado a Caifás, el sumo sacerdote.
Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas [Rock that hollows itself out], the high priest.
25 Pero Simón Pedro todavía estaba allí calentándose junto al fuego. Ellos le dijeron: ¿No eres uno de sus discípulos? Él dijo: No, yo no soy.
Now Simeon Peter [Hearing Rock] was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, “You are not also one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it, and said, “I am not.”
26 Uno de los siervos del sumo sacerdote, pariente de aquel a quien Pedro había cortado la oreja, le dijo: ¿No te vi en el jardín con él?
One of the servants of the high priest, being a relative of him whose ear Peter [Rock] had cut off, said, “Didn’t I see you in the garden with him?”
27 Entonces otra vez Pedro dijo: No. Y de inmediato un gallo dio su grito.
Peter [Rock] therefore denied it again, and immediately the rooster crowed.
28 Entonces llevaron a Jesús de la casa de Caifás al Pretorio. Era temprano. Ellos mismos no entraron al Pretorio, para que no se vuelvan inmundos, sino que puedan tomar la Pascua.
They led Yeshua [Salvation] therefore from Caiaphas [Rock that hollows itself out] into the Praetorium. It was early, and they themselves didn’t enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Pesac ·Passover· meal (Nissan 14).
29 Entonces salió Pilato a ellos y formuló la pregunta: ¿qué tienes que decir contra este hombre?
Pilate [Armed with javelin] therefore went out to them, and said, “What accusation do you bring against this man?”
30 Ellos le dijeron a él en respuesta: Si el hombre no fuera un malhechor no lo habríamos entregado a usted.
They answered him, “If this man was not an evildoer, we wouldn’t have delivered him up to you.”
31 Entonces Pilato les dijo: Llévenselo ustedes mismos, y sean juzgados por su ley. Pero los judíos le dijeron: No tenemos derecho a matar a ningún hombre.
Pilate [Armed with javelin] therefore said to them, “Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews [Praisers] said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,”
32 Para que la palabra de Jesús se cumpliera, señalando el tipo de muerte que tendría.
that the word of Yeshua [Salvation] might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what kind of death he should die.
33 Entonces Pilato volvió al Pretorio y envió a buscar a Jesús, y le dijo: ¿Eres tú el Rey de los judíos?
Pilate [Armed with javelin] therefore entered again into the Praetorium, called Yeshua [Salvation], and said to him, “Are you the King of the Jews [Praisers]?”
34 Jesús respondió: ¿Dices esto de ti mismo o otros lo dijeron sobre mí?
Yeshua [Salvation] answered him, “Do you say this by yourself, or did others tell you about me?”
35 Pilato dijo: ¿Soy judío? Tu nación y los principales sacerdotes te han entregado en mis manos: ¿qué has hecho?
Pilate [Armed with javelin] answered, “I’m not a Jew [Praiser], am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered you to me. What have you done?”
36 Jesús dijo en respuesta: Mi reino no es de este mundo; si mi reino fuera de este mundo, mis discípulos habrían hecho una buena batalla para no entregarme a las manos de los judíos; pero mi reino no es de aquí.
Yeshua [Salvation] answered, “My Kingdom is not of this world. If my Kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, that I would not be delivered to the Jews [Praisers]. But now my Kingdom is not from here.”
37 Entonces Pilato le dijo: ¿Eres tú entonces rey? Jesús respondió: Dices que soy un rey. Para este propósito fui dado a luz, y para este propósito vine al mundo, para dar testimonio de lo que es verdad. Todo amante de la verdad escucha mi voz.
Pilate [Armed with javelin] therefore said to him, “Are you a king then?” Yeshua [Salvation] answered, “You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”
38 Pilato le dijo: ¿Verdad? ¿Que es verdad? Habiendo dicho esto, salió de nuevo a los judíos y les dijo: “No veo nada mal en él”.
Pilate [Armed with javelin] said to him, “What is truth?” When he had said this, he went out again to the Jews [Praisers], and said to them, “I find no basis for a charge against him.
39 Pero cada año me pides que deje que un prisionero sea libre en la Pascua. ¿Es tu deseo que deje libre al Rey de los Judíos?
But you have a custom, that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Therefore do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews [Praisers]?”
40 Entonces volvieron a gritar: No este hombre, sino Barrabás. Ahora Barrabás era un fugitivo.
Then they all shouted again, saying, “Not this man, but Bar-Abba [Son Father]!” Now Bar-Abba [Son Father] was a robber.
