Job 39
1 ¿Sabes cuando paren las cabras monteses? ¿Has visto a las ciervas dar a luz a sus crías?
Know you the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or can you mark when the hinds do calve?
2 ¿Sabes los meses de su preñez? ¿O Sabes el momento en que van a parir?
Can you number the months that they fulfill? or know you the time when they bring forth?
3 Se arrodillan, dan a luz a sus crías, pasan los dolores.
They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.
4 Sus crías son fuertes, viven en el campo abierto; Salen y no vuelven.
Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not to them.
5 ¿Quién ha dejado libre el asno de los campos? ¿O soltó las ataduras del asno salvaje?
Who has sent out the wild ass free? or who has loosed the bands of the wild ass?
6 A quien le he dado el desierto por morada, y la tierra estéril como lugar de vida.
Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.
7 Él se burla del ruido de la ciudad; la voz del conductor no llega a sus oídos;
He scorns the multitude of the city, neither regards he the crying of the driver.
8 Él va a buscar sus pastizales en las montañas, buscando cada cosa verde.
The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searches after every green thing.
9 ¿Será tu siervo el buey de las montañas? ¿O es el lugar de descanso de su noche en su pesebre?
Will the unicorn be willing to serve you, or abide by your crib?
10 ¿Estará tirando tu arado con cuerdas, subiendo los valles detrás de ti?
Can you bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after you?
11 ¿Pondrás tu fe en él, porque su fuerza es grande? ¿Confiarás tu trabajo a su cuidado?
Will you trust him, because his strength is great? or will you leave your labor to him?
12 ¿Le tendrás fe de que te devolverá tu grano, que lo recogerá del piso de trituración?
Will you believe him, that he will bring home your seed, and gather it into your barn?
13 ¿Hermosas y alegres plumas le has dado al pavo real; o alas y plumas al avestruz,
Gave you the goodly wings to the peacocks? or wings and feathers to the ostrich?
14 Abandona sus huevos en el suelo, para que se incuben en el polvo.
Which leaves her eggs in the earth, and warms them in dust,
15 ¿Sin pensar que pueden ser aplastados por el pie, y destrozados por las bestias del campo?
And forgets that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.
16 Es cruel con sus crías, como si no fueran de ella; su trabajo no tiene ningún propósito; ella no tiene miedo.
She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labor is in vain without fear;
17 Porque Dios le ha quitado sabiduría a su mente y no le ha dado ninguna medida de conocimiento.
Because God has deprived her of wisdom, neither has he imparted to her understanding.
18 Cuando ella agita sus alas en lo alto, se burla del caballo y del que está sentado sobre él.
What time she lifts up herself on high, she scorns the horse and his rider.
19 ¿Le das fuerza al caballo? ¿Es por tu mano que su cuello está cubierto de crin?
Have you given the horse strength? have you clothed his neck with thunder?
20 ¿Lo harás temblar como a un saltamontes, él vigor de su resoplido espanta?
Can you make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.
21 Él escarba en la tierra, y se alegra en su fuerza; sale al encuentro del equipo militar.
He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength: he goes on to meet the armed men.
22 Se burla del temor, no se acobarda y no se aleja de la espada.
He mocks at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turns he back from the sword.
23 El arco suena contra él aljaba; Ve el punto brillante de lanza y el escudo.
The quiver rattles against him, the glittering spear and the shield.
24 Temblando de pasión, él está mordiendo la tierra; no es capaz de guardar silencio ante el sonido de la bocina;
He swallows the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believes he that it is the sound of the trumpet.
25 Cuando llega a sus oídos, dice: ¡Ajá! Está oliendo la lucha desde lejos, y oyendo el trueno de los capitanes y los gritos de guerra.
He says among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smells the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
26 ¿Es por tu conocimiento que el halcón eleva su vuelo, extendiendo sus alas hacia el sur?
Does the hawk fly by your wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?
27 ¿O es por tu mandato que el águila sube y hace su lugar de descanso en lo alto?
Does the eagle mount up at your command, and make her nest on high?
28 Sobre la roca está su morada; su fortaleza, sobre la cima de la montaña allí permanece.
She dwells and stays on the rock, on the crag of the rock, and the strong place.
29 Desde allí él acecha la presa; su ojo lo ve desde lejos.
From there she seeks the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.
30 Sus polluelos se alimentan de sangre, y donde están los cuerpos muertos, allí está ella.
Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.
