Job 26

1 Entonces Job respondió y dijo:

Then answered Job, and said,

2 ¿Cómo le has ayudado al que no tiene poder? ¿Cómo has sido la salvación del brazo que no tiene fuerza?

What assistance hast thou given to the powerless? [how] hast thou helped the arm without strength?

3 ¿Cómo le has dado enseñanza a aquel que no tiene sabiduría, y dejado completamente claro el verdadero conocimiento?

How hast thou counselled the unwise? and what sound wisdom hast thou made known so plentifully?

4 ¿A quién se han dicho tus palabras? ¿Y de quién salió tu espíritu?

To whom hast thou told words? and whose spirit came from thee?

5 Las sombras están temblando en las aguas y los que viven en ellas.

The departed are called into being beneath the waters, and their inhabitants.

6 El infierno se descubre ante él, y la destrucción no tiene velo. (Sheol h7585)

Naked is the nether world before him, and there is no covering for the place of corruption. (Sheol h7585)

7 Por su mano, el norte se extiende en el espacio, y la tierra cuelga de la nada.

He stretched out the north over empty space; he suspended the earth on nothing;

8 Por él las aguas se cierran en sus densas nubes, y la nube no rompe bajo ellas.

He bound up the waters in his clouds; and the cloud bursteth not under their weight;

9 Cubre la cara de su trono, y su nube se extiende sobre él.

He closed up the surface of his throne, spreading over it his cloud;

10 Por él se marca un círculo en la faz de las aguas, hasta los límites de la luz y la oscuridad.

A fixed limit he compassed off over the face of the waters, for the division of the light and darkness.

11 Los pilares del cielo tiemblan de miedo, y están atónitos por sus amenazas.

The pillars of heaven tremble greatly, and are astounded at his rebuke.

12 Por su poder el mar se calmó; y por su sabiduría hirió su arrogancia.

By his power he split in pieces the sea, and by his understanding he crushed [its] pride:

13 Por su aliento los cielos se vuelven brillantes: por su mano formó la serpiente que se movía rápidamente.

By his breath the heavens [acquired] beauty; his hand hath created the flying serpent.

14 Mira, estas son sólo las afueras de sus caminos; ¡Y es poco lo que viene a nuestros oídos acerca de él! Pero el trueno de sus actos de poder, quien los puede entender.

Lo, these are ends of his ways; for how slight a whisper is heard [by us] of him! but the thunder of his mighty deeds who can understand?
