Job 23

1 Y Job respondió y dijo:

And Job answered and said,

2 Incluso hoy mi clamor es amargo; Su mano es pesada a pesar de mi gemido.

Even to-day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.

3 ¡Ojalá tuviera conocimiento de dónde podría ser visto, para que pudiera llegar incluso a su asiento!

Oh that I knew where I might find him, that I might come to his seat!

4 Pondría mi causa en orden delante de él, y mi boca estaría llena de argumentos.

I would order the cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments;

5 Vería cuáles serían sus respuestas y sabría lo que me diría.

I would know the words he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.

6 ¿Usaría su gran poder para vencerme? No, pero él me prestaría atención.

Would he plead against me with [his] great power? Nay; but he would give heed unto me.

7 Allí un hombre recto podría poner su causa delante de él; y estaría libre para siempre de mi juez.

There would an upright man reason with him; and I should be delivered for ever from my judge.

8 Mira, voy hacia delante, pero él no está allí; y de vuelta, pero no lo entiendo;

Lo, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I do not perceive him;

9 Lo estoy buscando en la mano izquierda, pero no hay rastro de él; y girando a la derecha, no puedo verlo.

On the left hand, where he doth work, but I behold [him] not; he hideth himself on the right hand, and I see [him] not.

10 Porque él sabe él camino donde voy; Después de que me haya probado, saldré como oro.

But he knoweth the way that I take; he trieth me, I shall come forth as gold.

11 Mis pies han ido en sus pasos; Me he mantenido en su camino, sin girarme a un lado ni al otro.

My foot hath held to his steps; his way have I kept, and not turned aside.

12 Nunca he ido en contra de las órdenes de sus labios; Las palabras de su boca han sido almacenadas en mi corazón.

Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have laid up the words of his mouth more than the purpose of my own heart.

13 Pero su propósito es fijo y no hay cambio en él; y da efecto al deseo de su alma.

But he is in one [mind], and who can turn him? And what his soul desireth, that will he do.

14 Porque lo que me fue ordenado por él será hecho hasta el final, y su mente está llena de tales cosas.

For he will perform [what] is appointed for me; and many such things are with him.

15 Por esta causa tengo miedo delante de él, mis pensamientos sobre él me superan.

Therefore am I troubled at his presence; I consider, and I am afraid of him.

16 Porque Dios ha debilitado mi corazón, y mi mente está turbada ante él Dios Todopoderoso.

For God hath made my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me;

17 Porque no fui destruido por las tinieblas, ni la oscuridad cubrió mi rostro.

Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he hidden the gloom from me.
